Set off early to Penang. En-route stop in Ipoh and the Royal town of Kuala Kangsar. Discover Ipoh Oldtown. Brief tour of the colonial Ipoh town, including the “Taj Mahal of Ipoh” – the Moorish-style Ipoh Railway Station and Ipoh Town Hall. Walk along Concubine Lane- formerly was a residential area to many rich Chinese magnate and British officers. Today, the pre-war shophouses that line the street have been restored to their former glory.
Kuala Kangsar District
Drive around Bukit Chandan. View Malaysia’s unique architecture of the exterior of Masjid Ubudiah, Istana Iskandariah, and Istana Kenangan (Royal Gallery), with photo stop. Continue to visit the Labu Sayong Center where unique shaped pots are made with deft hands and creative inspirations mostly by womenfolk.
George Town
Cross over to Penang, the “Pearl of the Orient” via one of the longest bridges in the world.

Today visit the 3rd longest reclining Buddha figure in the world followed by Kek Lok Si Temple, the Temple of 1000 Buddhas. Visit Fort Cornwallis (photo stop), the water village of The Clan Jetties at Weld Quay and “The Street of Harmony” where churches, Chinese temples, mosques, and Hindu temples harmonious exist side by side. Be amazed by the intricate Khoo Kong Si clan’s house. Enjoy a breezy trishaw ride. Afternoon is at leisure.

Drive further South towards Kuantan. En-route visit to the Batik Gallery, Malaysia’s famous art textile made from wax, using hand-drawn or hand-blocked technique. Visit scenic coastal fishing villages and a turtle information Centre (closed on Friday & Saturday). Enjoy a local tea break.

5.00We booked a 10-day tour of Malaysia: Desaru Coast, Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Selangor, Cameron Highlands, Ipoh, Penang, Georgtown. Our driver brought us safe and interesting information to each destination. Punctual, friendly, humorous, clean & comfortable car. We booked this travel style for the first time and enjoyed it very much.

5.00Malaysia is fantastic! As I always consult Trip Advisor travelers, today I will try to help them on their trips to these places. I am a mature traveler, who travels cheap, backpacking and who likes to discover cultures and beaches. I started my trip, with a friend from Argentina, Adedis Ababa, Dubai, Singapore and Malaysia. We crossed from Singapore by bus to Malacca (or Melaka). World Heritage City, we stayed there for 2 days to visit the historic center, watch the sunset at the mosque over the Strait of Malacca and also drink beer or coffee on the river bank or try the exquisite “coconut milk shake”. From there, we went by bus to Kuala Lumpur (3 days) this allows you to see the Petronas towers which are impressive!, River bank, old market, Petaling street, Chinatown and visit the Batu Caves. From there by bus to Georgetown (2 days) to see the beautiful street art, try the best cuisine in Malaysia and visit Chinatown and its “Jetys” water houses. From there we travel to Langkawi, (2 days) on the beach main They have dinner, at this time there are no people. We stayed in bungalows, 5 blocks from the beach. Very good. We took the excursion to the mangrove with kayak included which was very good, especially for those who like sports and wildlife. From there, we went to the Perhentian Islands (3 nights) spectacular! The beaches are on par with Thailand, with many islands and beaches to visit (see sharks, turtles, corals, etc.). Anyway... Super recommended and good prices! Greetings Gladys

2.00While you get to see quite a bit of Malaysia, the tour could have booked better hotels, given the relatively high price charged and low costs of hotels in Malaysia. The person accompanying the tour is really a driver, knowing not much about the areas, who didn't do that much in the tour. The driver, without prior notice, came to our hotel at least 30 minutes earlier. Also it was not clear whether which meals are included in the tour. Also the communication with the tour operator is frustrating, since their reply needs much follow up and often late. If all these are improved, this could be a great tour.

4.00Our guide Arif was great. Very patient with our requests. An expert in all things Malay. He knew his history and current knowledge of each of the cities we visited. He was very personable and a very good driver. The tour however was a little disappointing Melacca was not that interesting and the hotel a little tired. Apparently it’s about to be renovated KL was good and the things we visited interesting. The pewter factory was the most interesting . Cameron Highlands itself was not great as they have destroyed it with construction and greenhouses. Our hotel Strawberry Park was really quite nice but could also use a facelift. Penang was our last stop. Our tour was interesting thanks to Arif. All in all the guide made the trip better than the trip itself. Thanks Arif.

4.00A well-organised tour with a very knowledgeable guide. A great way to see the real Malaysia and meet people other than fellow tourists. As there was so much to see and take in, it could be rather tiring, but worth it.
