  The 7 days Lemosho route Kilimanjaro trek exceeded our expectations. The route is so beautiful and we enjoyed tackling the mountain with experienced guides - Bakari and Nickson. They were supportive from start to finish in all the aspects of the trek, starting with the technical strategy on the speed, rests and ensuring that we were healthy through regular checks. We had the reassurance of knowing that we were with experienced and professional climbing crew as it was evident from the way they planned and executed everything. The food was delicious throughout. Our cook prepared three hot meals every day and managed to keep us eating ravenously. I was impressed by the tents, sleeping bags and the other climbing equipment that we had at our disposal. All was of good quality and helped to keep us comfortable in the tough conditions. We enjoyed trekking as the weather was good making it wonderful. Let no one deceive you that the trek is easy, however being with a great crew made it much easier as we did not have to worry about the logistics. We also get lots of help in the tough sections and encouragement from our crew. Bakari was my personal guide and turned out to be really informative about the mountain. We both reached the summit and are totally impressed by Kilisa Tours and Safaris. They handled our trek professionally and created the perfect conditions for our trek.

  My bothers and I shared one of the most incredible experiences in Tanzania as we trekked up Kilimanjaro. Our host Naick of Kilisa Tours & Safaris is the man behind our success. He was solely responsible in putting everything together from the logistics, support team, permits, supplies, accommodations pre and post climb, to every little thing that we had on that during the trek was not there by chance. The climbing crew was led by guide Goodluck assisted by Oscar. This pair went out of their way to ensure that we had a phenomenal trek. They were quick to assess our physical capabilities and aligned the trekking speed to a comfortable pace. They closely monitored our health and also ensured that we well nourished. To be honest all the crew were amazing. They treated us well and took care of all our needs. Trekking up this mountain started off easy but gradually got tougher as we progressively got higher. We could barely walk by the time we got to the Barafu camp because of fatigue. The length and altitude got us struggling, luckily Goodluck and his team helped us and did not leave our side till we made it to Uhuru Peak. Naick hosted a farewell party in our honour after the trek which was a really nice touch where we ate, sang and danced late into the night before our outbound flight early the next morning. We are now safely back home and have very fond memories of our time there. We will definitely return to Tanzania for another adventure and Kilisa Tours & Safaris will be our point of call.   Thank you to Kilisa Tours for a unique trekking experience and once-in-a-lifetime adventure, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 m above sea level. From when we contacted Kilisa Tours and Safari, Naick was there for us, providing us with everything we needed to reach the summit- Uhuru. We used the seven-day Lemosho route, and Kilisa provided us with two Guides, a chef and twelve porters who carried our bags, tents and food. Considering the high altitude, the food was of a higher standard, a credit to the chef. I can not thank the Guides and the Porters enough for their support and encouragement and for making the trek safer and enjoyable. Despite the challenges, you feel immense accomplishment upon reaching the summit. If you are thinking of hiking Mount Kilimanjaro, I urge you to consider Kilisa Tours and Safari. By using Kilisa, you will help support the local economy, as your money enables the company to provide employment opportunities to the local people. With Kilisa, hakuna matata, no problem.   This trip was a long time in the making and Naick/Kilisa Tours helped us to achieve this every step of the way. Kilisa seemed to be the most reasonably priced when we searched around but when we finally got onto the trek, we realised just how good the value was for our money. We had a team of 15 locals from the Kilimanjaro Region with us, including two experienced guides, Nickson and Livingstone. With their help we, as inexperienced but reasonably fit hikers, were able to reach the summit. The team could not have been more supportive. In the long buildup, Naick was very patient and helpful in emails and whatsapp messaging, allowing us the time and knowledge that we needed to organise our trip. We got a thorough briefing and help preparing our trekking gear/clothes, at the hotel, on the night before the trek. Each evening we had a briefing about the following day, before getting a wake up call in the morning from our attentive host, Zakayo - who accompanied us to the summit on the final day and will make for a great future guide. We were treated to fresh ginger tea daily, as well as other hot drinks and soup to keep warm and big portioned meals/snacks for energy. The porters in the team have great strength and heart. After we had stocked our smaller bags with the day's essentials, they would pack up the camp, including our remaining larger bags and move the whole camp to our next location - overtaking us on the way! At this point, as others have mentioned, paying for a private toilet for your group/self, to have as part of your camps, is well worth the money from the start. Our guides were more than mere pace setters, pointing the way forward, they were knowledgeable about the local region, flora and forna. They have vast experience of climbing Kilimanjaro from all the various routes. Also, importantly, they were very humble, friendly, supportive, just generally good humoured company, as well as making for decent photographers for our small group! The trek itself is manageable, as the guides will tell you, it is more of a mental test and taking things "pole pole" - slow and steady will get you to the top, while allowing you to enjoy the journey and some breathtaking views along the way! Finally to emphasise again, this is a locally based company with local employees. They provided our small group of three with a thoroughly enjoyable and unforgettable experience. I hope that spreading the word with this review, will go some way to repaying them for their hospitality and the fantastic memories which they have given to us.

  I had a wish of climb Mount Kilimanjaro since I was a teenager, And my dreams came into realty after I met with Kilisa Tours & Safaris. The reason why I decided to choose them is because they had a good patient to me, and after talking to Naick my tour operator & designer he quickly understood what I wanted and offered me an idea of took the Lemosho route. This is because the rate of reaching the summit is 95%, because of it’s longer itinerary which allows better acclimatization, just a good level of fitness is recommended. From the starting point Kilisa Tours & Safaris was responsive through my Email, Arrivals, Pick up until the next day I began my Kilimanjaro trek through Lemosho route. The journey was incredible and together with the team I had was friendly & supportive. Through them and their encouragement they helped me keep pushing forward to the summit. I am sincerely happy and to be honest Kilisa Tours & Safaris is a home of hospitality. If you’re considering climbing Mount Kilimanjaro I highly recommend you to contact Kilisa Tours and Safaris for better experience and unforgettable memories.

  What an amazing time!!! Kilisa Tours made our trekking experience by far the most memorable. Every staff member was supportive, friendly, and professional.   We would like to express our deepest gratitude and give the highest recommendation to Kilisa Tours & Safaris that help in organizing our Safari and Mount Kilimanjaro hiking for 10 days. Their service was exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure every aspect of the trip was perfect. The accommodation provided was comfortable and truly a home away from home. The food they served was not only delicious but also catered to various preferences, making every meal a delightful experience. The best surprise birthday party the team prepared for my friend was very amazing. We didn't expect it at that Mountain location, the food, drinks and gifts were so good. The team was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel so safe and supported throughout the journey. And let’s not forget about their well through-out itinerary, everyday was filled with exciting activities and breathtaking sights, making it a truly unforgettable experience.   Incredible experience with Kilisa, felt safe and cared for the entire journey by the professional and funny guides Abraham and Joseph as well as all of the crew that made our summit successful. Would not want to do the climb with any one else. 5 star treatment through all of the journey and the food was amazing.

  It was amazing so far, Tanzania is so incredible I don’t know how to describe it, but all you need to do is power your phone or camera battery there so many things you need to capture. Thank you so much to the whole team of Kilisa Tour (guides ,chef ,porter and driver)who work hand in hand to give us such a best and amazing Safari tour with good service and care about our wellbeing I had so much fun in safari I saw many animal like Elephant, Lion, Cheetah, Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest and Leopard I learn many thing about them, guide was very knowledgeable he explained about animal and why they behave the way they do. The itinerary was well planned from the day we arrived up to the day the tour ended. I got the opportunity to visit the local society (Maasai society) . I learn a lot about them, their songs and taste local food. They are very generous and welcoming. I got many presents back home like Maasai Shuka, coffee, and art painting. I will think of Tanzania every time I look at them. Thank you very much (Asante sana) for the Kilisa tour, they are a huge part of making my trip amazing.

  I successfully climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro on December 12, 2023. I knew it would be a tough climb, so Naick Msemo from Kilisa Tours made sure I was accompanied by a reliable support team to accomplish my goal. Before the trek started, my guide Goodluck Mwanga made sure I had all the right gear I needed. Goodluck kept me well informed throughout, kept me motivated and kept me mentally prepared. All the other members of our trekking team including cook and porters made sure my climb was a successful climb by preparing delicious meals on time and by providing all the support and help I needed. The climb itself was a challenge but with the team I had on my side, it felt less daunting. Overall, it was a fun and challenging climb which I will remember for rest of my life. Naick Msemo is very helpful and down to earth. He kept me well informed before and throughout my trip. His responses to all the queries I had were prompt and honest.
