I had a wonderful experience climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with Kilimanjaro Experts. This is the company formed by Henry Stedman, who wrote the definitive guide to Kilimanjaro trekking (now in its' 6th edition). What a fabulous adventure it was, from my first communication with the company right through the final celebration luncheon in Moshi. I truly enjoyed the entire journey. Each individual in the Kili Experts crew - the guides, the chef, the porters - performed beautifully. Every member of the team showed a very honest desire to make our trip exceptional, and, for me, they succeeded. I will definitely be recommending Kilimanjaro Experts to my entire family and to all of my friends.

We had an amazing experience with Kilisa tours. We went to the Kilimanjaro summit and then to a Safari tour at Serengueti. I was impressed with the level of service they offer. REALLY recommend. No improvement points at all. Food at the Kilimanjaro was VERY good. I was not expecting this at a camp site

Professionalism & Safety at Every Step From day one of the Kilimanjaro climb, I felt completely supported by the Kilisa team. Our lead guides were extremely knowledgeable, safety-conscious, and motivating, ensuring our pace remained steady (“pole pole”) and that everyone was monitored for altitude sickness. Each day on the trail was unique—from the misty rainforest to the high moorlands, across the Shira Plateau, and over the iconic Barranco Wall. The porters and kitchen staff were phenomenal—always smiling, setting up comfortable tents, and preparing hot, nutritious meals that far exceeded expectations for a mountain expedition.

We recently completed the 7-day Machame Route trek to Mount Kilimanjaro with Kilisa Tours & Safaris, and it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience—made even more remarkable by the company’s exceptional focus on safety and professionalism. From the very first briefing to the final descent, every detail was handled with care. The Kilisa team made safety a top priority throughout the entire journey. Our guides were experienced, attentive, and well-trained in high-altitude care. They conducted daily health checks, including oxygen level monitoring and regular assessments to ensure we were acclimatizing properly. The 7-day Machame Route itself offers an excellent acclimatization profile, and the Kilisa team managed the pace perfectly with their steady “pole pole” approach. Their guidance made summit night both safe and successful for our group. The support crew—porters, cooks, and camp staff—went above and beyond. Camps were always ready on time, meals were nutritious and energizing, and clean drinking water was always available. Hygiene was clearly a priority, and that made a big difference in our comfort and confidence on the mountain. Summiting Uhuru Peak was an emotional and proud moment, and we owe so much of our success to the careful preparation, encouragement, and safety-first approach of the Kilisa Tours & Safaris team. If you're planning to climb Kilimanjaro and want an operator that combines experience, care, and genuine passion for what they do, we wholeheartedly recommend Kilisa Tours & Safaris. Their commitment to your safety and enjoyment ensures that your adventure will be both memorable and meaningful.

I recently completed the 7-day Machame Route hike to Mount Kilimanjaro with Kilisa Tours & Safaris, and it was truly the adventure of a lifetime. From beginning to end, the trek was exceptionally well-organized. The guides demonstrated deep knowledge, patience, and unwavering support—particularly during the summit ascent, where their encouragement and steady pacing proved invaluable. They maintained a consistent "pole pole" (slowly, slowly) rhythm and continuously checked in to ensure we were acclimatizing properly and feeling well. The Machame Route itself offers breathtaking diversity. Each day revealed new landscapes—from the lush rainforest on day one to the dramatic Shira Plateau, the exhilarating Barranco Wall, and the stark beauty of the alpine desert approaching Barafu Camp. The route’s acclimatization profile is excellent, and I am confident it contributed significantly to our group’s high summit success rate. The support crew—porters, cooks, and camp staff—exceeded expectations. We were warmly welcomed at each camp with hot meals and comfortable resting areas. The quality of the food was remarkable for a mountain expedition—nutritious, hearty, and far above what I had anticipated. Reaching Uhuru Peak was both emotional and exhilarating. Witnessing the sunrise from the Roof of Africa was a deeply rewarding moment and one of the proudest accomplishments of my life. For anyone considering a Kilimanjaro climb, I highly recommend the 7-day Machame Route. It offers the perfect balance of challenge, scenic variety, and effective altitude adaptation. I strongly encourage choosing Kilisa Tours & Safaris as your operator—they deliver an outstanding and unforgettable experience.

We had the most incredible experience hiking Mount Kilimanjaro for eight days through Lemosho Route. Thanks to all the crew for making us achieve the summit and making us feel at home Everything was exceptional; from the moment we started the journey until the very end were amazing. The accommodation was fantastic. The guides Goodlucky, Abraham & Joseph were very knowledgeable, friendly and truly made the trip memorable. They helped us to believe in our ability and made our mindset believe it will be easy to achieve it. Their teamwork helps everything to be easier, boosting the journey in the middle of hardship by motivating us with songs gives us joy and relaxation, the word of hope was POLEPOLE help us remain stronger and enjoy the trekking despite the obstacles we meet in the journey we won it. Talking about the food and drinks the chef prepared, it was the best and gave us energy for hiking. We can’t thank you enough, but I highly recommend this local company for anyone looking for a memorable experience of hiking Mount Kilimanjaro.

Tackling Kilimanjaro can be daunting, Kilisa made it possible for us. Our guides, Abraham, Alfonse, and Bacarri were the best possible guides. When we'd think we couldn't make it, they made sure we did. I highly recommend this company. They may be small, but they are local. It is important to support local, start here.

After comparing many travel agencies online and talking to the boss Naick for a long time, I finally chose Kilisa. There are several main reasons for choosing Kilisa: 1. The response was very timely and they never tired of answering all kinds of questions I asked. 2. The price was very reasonable. 3. The itinerary was also very detailed. There were three of us in the group, and the trip was about two weeks, divided into four parts: The first week was the Kilimanjaro Machame 7-day trek. After arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport, someone picked us up and sent us directly to the hotel. On the way, they helped us to apply for phone cards and took us to exchange shillings. After arriving at the hotel, the two guides briefly explained to us the information for the next day's climbing and helped us clean our backpacks. We set off directly the next morning. The guides Bakari and Alphonce were both great. They explained the various animals, plants and attractions we encountered along the way. The campsites we chose every day were great and the scenery was particularly beautiful. Friends who come to Kilimanjaro must choose the Machame Whiskey Route. The difficulty is slightly higher than the Coke Route, but the scenery is particularly beautiful. We stayed in the rainforest on the first day and Shira cave camp on the second day. The scenery at Shira cave camp is especially amazing. You can probably see the beautiful sea of clouds and sunset. The route for the next few days is exactly the same as the Coke Route, but the first two days are really simple. The 4-5 hour journey is not very steep. There are scenery along the way, and there are very few people. In the next few days, due to the reasonable arrangement of the guide, we set off half an hour earlier every day to avoid the peak period and it was relatively easy on the way. At the same time, we also reserved a lot of time to take pictures and enjoy the scenery. If we are tired, the guide and the porter will help with the backpack. The food every day is also good, which is completely beyond expectations. I thought I would just eat casually on the mountain, but I didn’t expect the chef to have recipes from many countries, and the lunch and dinner are not repeated every day. The final climb to the top was relatively smooth. Although one of my friends had severe altitude sickness and kept retching from the 5,000-meter altitude, he successfully climbed to the top with the help of the guide. After reaching the top, we saw the sunrise and the sea of clouds. Finally, Bakari took me to see the glaciers on the mountain up close. It was amazing! After climbing Kilimanjaro, we went to the Coffee tour. Although the coffee village was only for one day, we thought it was just a casual visit. The guide Nixon who led us to the coffee village gave us a surprise. He explained the local customs and customs along the way, and went to the waterfall to rinse (be sure to bring a pair of slippers, the stones are too hard to put your feet!), and the coffee making experience was also very good and joyful! The coffee made in the end tasted amazing to me, a coffee layman. It was a very fulfilling day. Then there was a 4-day Safari, but 4 days for Safari was too rushed. Everyone must reserve more time for Safari. 5 days or more is best, or skip the previous park and go directly to Ngorongoro and Serengeti. Although we saw almost all the animals, the daily schedule was very tight. We spent more than 8 hours on two days. We must leave two more days for Serengeti. I regretted staying in Serengeti for only one day. You can choose to stay in tents or cabins for Safari. Cabins are more expensive. I planned to stay in tents at first, but fortunately I changed to cabins temporarily. The cabins we stayed in during those days were very good, especially the cabins in Serengeti. At night, you can hear lions and various animals roaring next to you (very safe, no worries). It is an unforgettable experience to get close to nature. If possible, I would like to stay in Serengeti for a few days next time. Then we went to the small-scale Lengai Volcano, which is highly recommended. Although it was close to the rainy season when we went there, we didn’t see the sunrise after climbing to the top and the wind was very strong, but on the way down the mountain, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Great Rift Valley of East Africa from the mountain, which is comparable to oil paintings. You must choose the dry season to see the sunrise and the volcanic eruption. After coming down from the mountain, we went to creek tracing. The stream seeped out from the underground river from the rift valley. At the end of the stream was a waterfall. The water temperature was just right for swimming. The water was also very clean and all underground water. After the creek tracing, we went to the Natron Lake to see the flamingos. It was also very shocking. Millions of flamingos gathered by the lake to form a pink ocean. It was not an exaggeration at all. It was an ocean of fans. The last day was also very fulfilling. The last morning, we were sent to the airport to go home. Our entire itinerary was arranged by Kilisa. From leaving the airport to boarding the plane to go home, everything was arranged very well. Every employee and guide of the travel agency was very friendly and enthusiastic. It is definitely right to find Kilisa when playing in Tanzania. You don’t have to worry about anything.
