5.00We happened to be walking around the town…standing at Basin Spring Park…Megan said hello and invited us to join the tour. We had an enjoyable time learning about the history of Eureka Springs and got lots of exercise walking around town. Stories were interesting and we took Megan’s suggestion to have a beer and pizza on the top of the Crescent Hotel….lovely day!
I've been going to Eureka Springs for years, Learned a lot on this tour!

5.00My husband and I really enjoyed this tour! I've been going to ES since the early 80's and have never taken a 'tour'. But I'm so glad we did this! Megan was our tour guide and she did an excellent job of telling the stories and explaining the history of Eureka. She was detailed and laced some humor into the stories too. The tour kept moving, it never got boring. While most of it was above ground, the part that showed the underground was very interesting. There were some steps, but that's to be expected in this town. Wear comfortable shoes. Well worth the ticket price and the time spent. Highly recommend this tour to any visitor to Eureka!

5.00Our tour was called "Downtown-n-Underground" which isn't actually what this is titled - but it is the same tour. We started at Basin Spring Park - right in the middle of town with a history of how things started. Megan, our guide, then took us below ground to where buildings were centered prior to moving upward due to mudslides. For much of the rest of the tour, we traversed the main business street really from one end to the other (Spring St) with architectural history, stories about several buildings, stories about the town at various points in time, and another spring at the far end. You finish about three blocks from where you start - a gradual uphill to get there. Megan was great; didn't need a script; answered all questions and ensured everyone could see everything. Great introduction to Eureka Springs. Interesting there were 10,000 people living here in the late 1800s, and now just over 2,000.

5.00Megan was knowledgeable, engaging and informative. Learned a lot of history. Fair amount of walking, but in Eureka springs that's really unavoidable? Definitely recommend this tour, especially for first-time visitors!

2.00My main goal for my review is for honesty and transparency. This tour discription is both accurate and inaccurate. The tourist trap is in the name. It is only in reading the fine details of the tour that it begins with truth. And just when you begin to talk yourself out of a walking tour of downtown by way of hundreds of steps and steep hill. You get caught by the last paragraphs that I have highlighted for you. You think that maybe this may actually be more interesting than you thought. And before you know it you click "buy tickets now" button. Then greatly regret your decision an hour and a half later when you go up to springs you could have seen for free then down a ways just to see a basement. Then up steep stairs before walking up a steep hill. Most likely seeing the things you already saw again for free. Luckily we hadn't been that way yet. However, I totally missed any tantalizing stories at this point i was feeling a bit cheated. Why? Well because I thought i'd be spending a good deal of the time stepping "into the stone tunnels that wind around downtown " or "seeing what even local residents haven't noticed" or, because we trusted the name "Underground Eureka Tour" plastered on the front. But, in the end we saw a basement that even the guide said there are no records indicating what building it used to be. By this time the group began to trickle away. But, we stuck it out thinking that something super exciting was waiting around the corner before stopping in an air conditioned room where the guide pretty much thanks you and ask for a tip. Btw, nothing against the guide. Even they understood where I was coming from when I addressed feeling mislead. After that we were pretty much left exhausted at the top of a hill figuring out how to get back to our car. At least it waa downhill from there. Btw, I asked several others on the tour and they too thought that we would be experiencing tunnels underground.

1.00This Tour might technically be what is described on the website, but it is a little misleading. We and others we talked to on the tour were under the impression that is was an underground tour of Eureka Springs based on the pics and misleading name. It was informative but not near as interesting as you would believe based on the advertisements. Just be aware!
