This is one of the tours that take you to almost all the most visited places in Uganda. It gives you chance to see and do the popular spots in and the major highlights of a safari tour in Uganda.
You will be tracking the Rhinos on foot in Ziwa Sanctuary on the first day and after this you will continue to Murchison falls where you will take views of the rapids formed by the River Nile.
On this tour, you will be doing game drives in Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks where you will have to see wildlife like; lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and many antelope species.
You will also enjoy boat cruises on the River Nile and on the Kazinga channel where you will have chance to see many hippos, crocodiles and more animals as well as many water birds.
This tour also takes you for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest as well as the trekking the mountain gorillas in Bwindi forest national park. There will be chances to see other primates like; monkeys & baboons.

Early morning game drives where you will have chance to see wildlife like; elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, hyenas and a number of antelope species

After lunch, you will go for a waterfall cruise on the River Nile hoping to see number of wildlife like; elephants, buffalos, antelopes, coming down to drink water as well as water animals like hippos and crocodiles. Expect to see a number of water birds.

Today, you will depart Murchison Falls heading west to Fort portal and then lastly to Kibale Forest National Park.
You may opt to go for a nature walk after lunch where you will enjoy the beautiful views of the crater lakes and the Rwenzori mountains.

Chimpanzee Tracking Experience After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters where you will have a briefing about the forest and chimpanzee tracking and then you will be led by a ranger-guide who will lead you into the forest.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth You will then proceed to Queen Elizabeth after visiting the chimpanzees and after having lunch at your lodge.

You will head out for an early morning game drive in the kasenyi tracks searching for wildlife like; lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, antelopes, hyenas, giant forest hogs and many more.
Kazinga Channel
You will proceed for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects lakes Edward and George. You will be able to see wildlife like; hippos, buffaloes, elephants, leopards as well as a lot of water birds.

Today you will depart the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth heading to Ishasha sector the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will do a short game drive searching for the tree climbing lions that are popular in this sector.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This is the main highlight of the tour. After an early breakfast, you will head out to the park headquarters where you will join others for a briefing by a park ranger and then you will be lead by a ranger-guide who will lead you into the forest to find the gorilla family that you will be allocated to.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You may choose to go out for an evening cultural walk depending on how you will be feeling after the gorilla trek. You will get some experience of the different lifestyles of the people living around the park and more especially the Batwa who used to reside in the forest.

After breakfast, you will depart Bwindi heading to Lake Mburo National Park with a lunch stop en-route.

After lunch, you will then proceed to Lake Mburo National Park and after relaxing for a few hours, you will head out for an evening guided walking safari in the park. You will be able to see wildlife like; Zebras, giraffes, buffaloes and an number of antelope species.

5.00I traveled with Safaris by Jon in June 2025. John answered all my questions when I first started inquiring about the itinerary. He answered all emails within a few hours. When traveling he communicated what the schedule was for the day. It was an amazing journey! I felt safe every day even when seeing animals up close!! The Gorilla Trekking was an experience of a lifetime!

5.00We started researching this trip a few years ago after hearing about Safaris by Jon from someone my daughter met on a plane. They came highly recommended so when it came time to book a trip, we decided to go with Safaris by Jon. I was delighted to read the day by day schedule Jon had created for our 13 day trip. Each day was planned out perfectly and highlighted all the things we wanted to do. We never had to worry about how and who and only had to focus on having fun. All travel, places to stay, people to guide us and drive us as well as teach us about the various locations was expertly planned for. I would highly recommend Safaris by Jon if you are interested and going to Uganda/Kenya like we did and sit back and let them do the heavy lifting of planning. You will enjoy your trip 100%.

5.00I feel sad writing this review. I want to be back there in the beautiful country Uganda with the great people. We choose '8 Day Best of Uganda' low budget version. Everything was smooth and great. We enjoyed from start to end. Jon helped us before the tour with every my issue and question. Answers were quick and he even helped us with visas. Our guide Ziwa had 8 years of experience. He knew everything and even more. We were a little bit affraind because of first time in Afrika but after some time with Ziwa the fear dissapeared. We spotted animals together, we ate breakfast, lunch a dinner together, we were family for these super 8 days. Accommodation was on high level. Shared bathrooms were always clean. Dinners were large and tasty. I can reccommend this company with no doubtes.

5.00I went with my mom and we had the best experience ever. We were able to see all kinds of animals, including the gorillas, chimpanzees, leopards and lions. Jon was an amazing guide who always tried to create the best adventures. Uganda is a unique country with an extensive biodiverse fauna which makes it exceptional. We loved to contribute with a small amount to preserve the environment.

5.00We spent a week with Jon exploring Uganda and contemplating the mind-boggling beauty of the country. It was one of the best trips of our lives, a true adventure. And we couldn’t be happier that among other companies, we chose Safaris by Jon, with Jon himself as our guide. The trip was organized perfectly, and the impressions we got exceeded our expectations. Jon was very thoughtful and caring. He made sure that we felt comfortable, arrived on time, and enjoyed a comfortable commute between the locations. A well-planned itinerary allowed us to experience a diverse range of activities and see different sides of Uganda. Furthermore, Jon is a very interesting person to talk to. We asked multiple questions about the past and present of Uganda, and eventually, we enjoyed a sort of mini-course in Ugandan history. We highly recommend Safaris by Jon to everyone who wants to visit Uganda and enjoy a trip with a very professional guide.

5.00I had originally been communicating with another operator and they suddenly disappeared 3months before my trip was supposed to start. John was recommended by a friend and he replied to my inquiry within 24hrs. Within a week, we had a full itinerary planned and agreed to. The trip itself was even better than expected. John was a great guide, explaining the history and culture of Uganda during our long drives between national parks. I would recommend Safaris by Jon to anyone interested in experiencing the amazing country of Uganda. Very professional and organized and Jon is a great guy.

5.00Jon was an amazing guide - with him we got to see the very best of Uganda while also learning more about the local cultures, customs and traditions. The Gorilla trekking at Bwindi was absolutely amazing. It was the standout experience on the trip and we had the privilage of experiencing the Gorillas in their natural habitat. Highly recommended.

5.00Exceeded all expectations. I did a 9 day safari as a solo traveler with Safaris by Jon. From the very first moment Jon was incredibly responsive and answered all of my (many many) questions in full detail both chatting and over a 1h+ phone call (I had not even reserved anything at that point). He patiently took the time to explain and suggest best options according to my interests and budget. He followed up and helped even consulting visa proceedures to Uganda. Hillary (Ricky) was my guide and he did an amazing job from pick up to last moment. I was wonderfully taken care of all along the trip, and all of my special needs were attended to. He gave LOADS of insight about everything on the trip - all the animals, trees, plants, explained it all very professionally, which made me enjoy the safari even more. I absolutely fell in love with the country and its people. Of course my highlight, like of many who come to Uganda for a safari experience, was the gorilla tracking. It is an unexplainable feeling to be sorrounded by them. Thank you Jon and Ricky, I could not have chosen a better team for my trip. I can't recommend Safaris by Jon enough.🙏🙏🙏🦍❤️
