Even if you have no knowledge of this little island you will easily find it here on this tour! So don't be afraid to say ‘HI!’ and ask a few questions here at the starting location and of course along the way too. The guide might have an idea of something new to see on the day of your tour so there’s always a surprise in store!
O'Connell Street
From the starting point our Guide will bring you on a journey towards the widest street in Ireland. You’ll hear how it got its current name after being renamed twice! O’Connell street is one of the main thoroughfares of Irish History and so has seen a lot of footfall over the centuries. Meet the Statues & Stand where the Irish War for Independence began and hear of the Irish Civil war which began immediately after independence was established. Find out what happened to Nelson’s Pillar and how all the windows of the street were broken all at once. From Dublin’s darkest days to the Stiletto in the Ghetto and beyond. O’Connell street is where it will all start for you on this tour.

5.00We had one day to explore Dublin and a member of the group was in Dublin for the first time so he wanted history. He selected Finn McCools Tours and we were lucky to get Alex as the guide. There is so much to learn about Dublin and the sites we were taken to were full of story, history and entertainment from our guide Alex. It was the best choice for our time and money, thanks. 5.00I highly recommend this tour with Alex as a great overview of Irish history that roots you in the modern day and includes plenty of current day fun references. Alex was extremely well-informed, friendly and accessible. I recommend signing up for a tour earlier in the day so you may access more sites and it will be less crowded.

5.00Alex was our guide for this experience and waited for us as I was accompanied by 2 other people, including someone with a cane. He was patient as we moved along slower than he might be typically used to. He was extremely kind and knowledgeable, full of charisma for his city.
