We from Awa Salu Kiteboarding Curacao, offer you premium, high quality kite lessons. We are looking out for you with a high focus on technique and safety.

We are located at the A-spot for kiteboarding on the mainland of Curaçao at the St. Joris bay. Before and after your lessons you can get the tips and watch the tricks of the local kiteboarder in their habitat.

The water is both shallow and deep, for practicing all aspects of kiteboarding. For the more advanced courses we practice walking the kite and launching and landing the kite on land.

Wondering if kiteboarding is for you? Learning to kiteboard is like learning to drive a car. A kid could learn it. After a couple of lessons, you will get the hang of it and go as slow or fast, high or low as you want to go.

During this 5 day course of 2 hours each lesson, you will first learn how to control you kite. When you kite control and self rescue skills are good enough you will start to learn how to ride the board. Also will you learn the basics of landing and launching the kite.  After this course you might be able to practise by yourself.

I had an incredible refresher session with Kim! From the very start, she was so friendly and communicative, making everything easy to organize. During the lesson, she used talkie walkies to guide me in real-time, which made a huge difference. She took the time to teach me all about my new gear and adapted the exercises perfectly to my level, helping me progress so much in just two hours. On top of being an amazing instructor, she’s also super talented and passionate about kitesurfing, which made the session both fun and rewarding. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience—thank you, Kim!

Masterrr! Awa Salu kiteboarding school is tha bomb! Proper equipment for learning and renting. Kim teaches in a very professional yet fun way and has a very keen eye to asses your development!👍🏾🤙🏾

I’ve taken kitesurfing lessons before, but my experience with Kimberley at Awa Salu truly stood out. From the very first session, it was clear that her teaching approach was on another level. Where previous instructors had left me feeling unsure and inconsistent, Kimberley’s clear explanations and hands-on guidance made all the difference. What impressed me the most was her ability to break down complex techniques into simple, manageable steps. She has an incredible knack for identifying exactly what I was struggling with and offering practical tips that immediately improved my skills. Her patience and encouragement boosted my confidence, and for the first time, I felt like I genuinely understood what I was doing on the water. I can’t recommend Awa Salu and Kimberley enough. The atmosphere is welcoming, the equipment is top-notch, and with Kimberley as your instructor, you’re guaranteed an unforgettable kitesurfing journey!

I had a 4 day course together with my son. Kim was our instructor and she was super friendly all the way. We had a great time!! But most important, she really truly helped us to improve our kite skills👍👌👌 with continuous dedication in her coaching.
Kim is a very good teacher!

Kim is a very good teacher, a lot of patience and above all a lot of fun! We took several classes and eventually had it under control. It's a challenging sport.

My wife and I have taken kite boarding lessons elsewhere before, but Kimberley was the only one who managed to put my wife's mind at ease! The kite is your friend ('just a piece of cloth') sounds easy enough, but thanks to Kimberley's excellent tutoring skills that became reality! In just 3 days we went from 'awe' to 'awesome'! Safety first, control the kite's power and learning at your own pace are key for Kim. I recommend Awa Salu Kiteboarding to anyone. Don't think twice. Book here. Thanks again, Kimberley!

We had so much fun with Kim. Very knowledgeable instructor who allows new comers to the sport feel comfortable with the kite. Would highly recommend for kiting beginners.
