Over 2 hours and 30 minutes, our local expert guides will take you on a journey back in time through the city centre of Belfast. You will discover how 'the Troubles' started, visit the locations where some of the most important events occurred, and learn about the path to reconciliation and eventually peace (and the challenges the future may hold). You will discover the realities of growing up and living your life during the conflict, and how it touched everyone. The tour is factual and historically accurate to ensure it is unbiased, the guides are conflict historians, who also weave their own stories into their tours to bring history to life, transporting you back to the Belfast of the 1970s and giving you a unique understanding of the recent past. The tour starts each day at 10.30am.

Eugene was very knowledgeable of the history. The history was explained in a very factual way that explained what and who was involved. Those who suffered were remembered.

Impossible to use anything other than superlatives to describe this tour, it was absolutely brilliant. We spent about two hours in the company of our Belfast-born and raised guide. He had spent many years away from the city but, wow, this in no way detracted from his knowledge of his subject which was comprehensive to say the least. We got a clear, very interesting explanation of Irish history from the 17th century right up to the present day, through the troubles and on to the Good Friday agreement and beyond. He was very even-handed in explaining the troubles from the point of view of both communities and gave us, his guests, much to think about on our way around. Very thought-provoking and informative. Don't hesitate to book this tour.

A truly astounding experience! We were fortunate to have the super-qualified Mylie as our guide. Her knowledge and passion and her hope for a peaceful future were obvious as was her dedication to giving a balanced insight into the Troubles and life in Belfast during this time and its aftermath. We were very grateful for this quality introduction to Belfast and would highly recommend this tour to others.

What a fantastic walking tour that covers The Troubles and political history of Northern Ireland - detailed, yet accessible with a lot of packed in. I consider myself a history buff but still learned a tonne. What makes it unmissable however are the real human stories and wonderful guide Mylie.

Mylie was our guide; she was amazing. We have done walking tours all over the world this was the best one ever. Mylie took a difficult, complicated subject and made it relatable, understandable, engaging, and enjoyable. The wealth of information and knowledge Mylie had about the subject was brilliant, giving us a basis for the city and the subject. Thank you, and I will definitely book with DC tours again.
