Pickup at 5:00 am. to visit the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep temple. The temple is quiet and the monks are just rousing and going out to receive alms offerings. Without any crowds you can enjoy the magical morning light and incredible views in serenity. It is the beginning to a great and wonderful day. Doi Suthep is the most famous landmark in Chiang Mai. They say you have not truly been to Chiang Mai if you have not visited this temple! At the top of the temple you can view the pagoda shining with real gold, and a viewing platform offers panoramic views of the whole Chiang Mai City – take in the wonderful countryside landscape while the sun rises behind the city and mountains. The morning sky and view could be immortalized in a beautiful painting ! Morning life at the temple is unforgettable -the sound of temple bells, monks chanting and the fascinating view of Chiang Mai will fill your heart. Then visit other 2 temples. ( Hidden temple and Wat U-Mong . both of then are hidden gems ) Don’t leave Chiang Mai without this impression.

5.00Amazing experience! Just to be at the temple so early and begin with meditation with the monks - very calming! The sunrise was amazing…Seeing three different finds of temples was cool as well. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a wonderful spirit!
VIP experience in the early morning

5.00I took this tour on September 8. 2025 and was the only guest. But it wasn't just this VIP experience that made this day unique. At this early hour, you're practically the only visitor to the tourist attractions, and the whole day is packed with variety. Another special experience was the tour guide, Tom, a former monk full of knowledge and wisdom, who also has photography and filmmaking experience. One of my best day trips ever.

5.00A very nice tour, with very pleasant tour guide and driver. We are lucky to have very nice weather and are able to see the sun coming out, it’s really beautiful. Well worth the effort to wake up early.

5.00The activity started with an early pick-up by Phon who arrived just before 5am giving us plenty of time to get to the temple, walk around, listen to the monks' early prayer and watch the sunrise. This followed with watching and participating in the alms to the monks. There was not a lot of people at this time of the morning. We visited two other temples, including the 'underground tunnel' temple which was interesting. We ended the trip with having breakfast where the locals do. I chose Khao Soi which is a special Chiang Mai dish. I would definitely recommend this trip with Phon. His breadth of knowledge coupled with his personal experience encounter with lots of information, made this trip extra special and worth waking up early. Thank you again Phon.
