  The best. You could hardly go wrong in the paradise that is Abel Tasman National Park, but this family-run tour company takes it to the next level. Just love the relaxed, smiling staff and friendly nature. We were late for our pick up and no one seemed to care a jot - a boatload of very happy people! Love your work, Wilson’s, thank you!

  Lovely cruise along the coast of Abel Tasmin National Park visiting beaches & bays. Boat was rather packed to begin with (we didn't realise people were being dropped off on the way) but much more enjoyable on return journey, as we were able to get a seat up top!

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Amazing experience with Wilsons Abel Tasman

  We had an amazing experience with Wilsons Abel Tasman while hiking the Abel Tasman Track. We booked a water taxi from Tonga Quarry to Totaranui. Unfortunately, we arrived late because the section of the track from Onetahuti Bay to Tonga Quarry has changed and turned out to be much longer than expected. Despite this, the team kindly waited for us for a bit. When they had already started to leave, I ran onto the beach, waving and calling out — and incredibly, they noticed me and came back to pick us up! We were so grateful. Such kindness and understanding made a stressful moment turn into an unforgettable one. Thank you so much for your patience and care — truly outstanding service!

  This is a cruise only up the coast and return the same way. If you want to do a beach stop along the way and catch a later boat for return you have to arrange a different tour.

  Even on a sunny day it can a bit chilly on the top deck. Very enjoyable experience , staff were all fabulous .

  

  

  

• Seasick and soaked

  The short version of this review is, think twice about pre-booking, because even in rough dangerous seas, with zero views and non-stop, all day rain, they don’t cancel and won’t give a refund. We purchased Trip #6 several months ago, caving to the “things sell out” pressure. We took the trip yesterday Feb. 2, and unfortunately weather looked very bad. We drove the hour and a half from Nelson, and asked upon checking in about sea roughness. She said it was a “little rough”, particularly at the top of the sightseeing route along the coast. I asked about a refund, and all she offered was a rebooking, which wasn’t possible for us as our next accommodations are on the east coast…. Since we weren’t able to cancel, we figured how bad could it be, and we went. Complete mistake. Fifteen minutes in to the boat ride, they distributed vomit bags and people were using them. Extremely rough seas. All the windows fog up so there are zero views (not helpful when trying to watch the horizon to keep from yaking) and getting up was out of the question as the boat was lurching many feet up and slamming down, and side to side. The pilot was desperately squiring his windows every few minutes so he could see where he was going! We weren’t able to stay on the boat past the Medlands Beach drop off (about an hour in)-we figured if this wasn’t even the “little bit rough” part, we’d never make it to the end of the sightseeing run…plus there was literally not a moment of sightseeing on the entire trip!! Figured we might as well get on land and do the hike..which we usually love…but that too was a complete bust. Basically walking three hours in a running stream in the pouring rain with zero views. We got to Torrent Bay, ate some lunch then took the first boat back we could get on. The ride back was actually worse than the ride out, the boat slamming down onto the waves, people vomiting….uuuggghhh. It was an expensive, complete waste of time. I was trying to come up with some silver linings as we were walking, and for the first time ever, I couldn’t come up with anything. It was a horrific boat ride, to an extremely unpleasant walk, back to a horrific boat ride. They should have refunded people who couldn’t reschedule!! Greed shouldn’t override common sense safety and comfort bare minimums…sadly it did at Wilson’s yesterday.

  This was a first class cruise. We caught the boat to Awaroa and then walked part of the trail and picked up the boat again 3 hours later at Tonga Quarry. Everything worked like clockwork. The sea was blue, the scenery stunning. A fabulous day and experience

• No communication from the cruise operator

  There was 0 communication from the cruise company about the name of the cruise or the exact location where the ship will be docked. We went around in circles and couldn't locate them. Tried calling but were sent to voicemail. We have demanded a refund but haven't recieved any updates from the team. Really bad experience overall and this needs to be managed better.
