Our all included tour is the best option to enjoy this beautiful volcano which travelers have rated it as the most beautiful volcano in all Central America, its beauty is due to the twin volcano Fuego which is active and performs an extraordinary eruption for all the travelers at our camping area on Acatenango.
Our company is located in front of the Fuego Volcano and if it is clear enough you will be able to see Pacaya and Agua volcanoes as well.
Each cabin has a pillow, – 6°C sleeping bag, extra blanket, a 5″ or 12cm comfortable mattress, under the matt all over the tent we have a waterproof carpet to isolate the cold from the bottom.
In our tourism project we work together with a cooperative of local guides CAT (Comité de Autogestión Turística) conformed by the people of the community San Jose Calderas, Chimaltenango.
Our cabins are shared by 2 or 4 people (the number of people per cabin depends on availability when the reservation is confirmed).

7:15 am - Breakfast at CA Travelers. We have 6 breakfast options so you are ready for the adventure. Please be on time to enjoy your breakfast with no rush.

8:00 am - Pick up at CA Travelers office. Our shuttle will pick you up from CA Travelers to the Supply Center.

8:15 am - Supply Center. At the supply center we will provide you everything that you need, we need to pack fast to continue to the entrance of the volcano. Here we have the storage room to leave your stuff behind.

9:30 am - Ride to the Acatenango Volcano. We have 45 minutes in the shuttle to the volcano

10:30 am - Start Hike. We take the before picture with the whole group, we introduce the guides and we are ready to go

1:30 pm - Lunch Time. After the first two hours, the group will stop for lunch. That way you have 45 minutes to recover your energy

4:00 pm - CA Travelers Campsite. Arriving to the campsite, the guides will pre pare Guatemalan hot chocolate (Real Kakao) as a reward for your effort and to enjoy the volcano.

7:00 pm - Dinner Time. Whenever you get hungry the guides will prepare the dinner for you. After dinner you can go to sleep or watch the volcano all night long

On the way back at the CA Travelers supply center, a Smoothie will be waiting for you!!
Acatenango
Top of the Volcano: Be ready to hike to the top of the volcano. It takes 1.5 hours to reach the top. Enjoy the sunrise. Breakfast time: When you return to the campsite, the guides will prepare the breakfast for you. Leaving the campsite: Pack your stuff and start coming down. It takes 2.5 hours. Entrance of the Volcano: We take the after picture and we get back to the shuttle.

Ride to the supply center to drop off the equipment, the staff will be waiting for you with a delicious smoothie. Back to Antigua: Return to Antigua, you will be drop off at your hostel

5.00Really excellent experience hiking Acatenango with CA Travellers. The base camp is well equipped with comfortable beds and good food (and wine!) and a lot of equipment is included to make sure you are warm during the night. Special shout out to Diego for being an amazing tour guide!

5.00Leo was such an amazing guide! We had an incredible tour. Everything well organized and everyone was looked after. The food was good and the accomadation was also nice. They have huts with doors and even mattresses so it wasn’t even that cold at night. 2 people usually fit in one hut. So it’s perfect for couples or friends who are traveling together. We met really nice people all over the world. You can book a porter one or both ways, who will carry the bag. Which was really helpful for me personally. The money goes directly to the porter, which is great.. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

5.00The best of the best! Our guide, Marvin, was truly top-notch. He was funny, professional, and very knowledgeable. All the information was provided at the right time, and he answered every question we had. He also shared about the company’s social support for the local community, which was great to hear about. ⛰️🥾 CA Travellers were incredibly organised with every single detail—even the way they packed our food boxes. Everyone on the tour was kind and friendly, which made the experience even better. I am so grateful for my porter Cristóbal how helped to carry my backpack. 🤗 There are no words to fully describe the hike. It was painful at times, but absolutely worth it. Highly recommended! 🌋

5.00I did both the acatenango tour and a shuttle to the airport with CA. The volcano tour was amazing and CA was brilliant value for what you get, especially compared to other companies. The guides were extremely nice and friendly. With the transfer I was having some issues with my phone and Leonardo was extremely helpful and went out of my way to help me. Would recommend!

5.00Marvin was the best guide ever. Excellent communication and very knowledgable. We felt safe, he set a good pace, and gave us enough breaks but encouraged us to keep moving when we felt tired. Also there is a new trail which is much better than the old one. Our entire group of 30 was rested enough to hike Fuego after a short break at base camp! Highly recommend. We were told not all agencies use the new trail so be mindful which you select. The cabins and facilities were slightly above my expectations for back-country camps. The food was also better than expected, and they did a great job accommodating food allergies. Don't forget to bring hand sanitizer, lots of layers, three pairs of socks, and extra cash.

5.00this was an incredible experience and i would recommend to book with this company! our tour guide was marvin, and he was a 10/10. he has an amazing personality, is great at conveying information and making sure everyone understand and is heard. i think a big part of a tour is the energy that is given by the guides and the organization. he is a stellar guide! made sure to keep a good pace and make sure the group didn't stray too far from one another (we were about 25 so that's not an easy task!), and he was attentive to all. he definitely made this experience even better than it was! we were lucky enough to see the volcano erupt several times, and the guides that came with us were amazing too! they were all caring and attentive to every person who felt sick. special shoutout to audi and jefferson for this! the food was actually pretty great considering it's pre-packed lunches, the whole group discussed how we thought the food was much better than what we had expected! overall amazing experience with this company :)

5.00I’m not the strongest hiker but was still very worth it and would recommend everyone to try it out. The group was motivated and fun and had enough guides to help people (like me) who fell behind.

5.00We did the Acatenango hike and I truly cannot recommend this team enough. The guides were absolutely amazing from start to finish. Marvin was our initial guide, he was truly incredible. He was so helpful and supportive the entire time. He constantly checked in on everyone, made sure we were okay on the way up, and reminded us that if we needed anything, he was there. Any question we had, he answered with so much patience and knowledge. He was also super informative throughout the hike, which made the whole experience even more meaningful. Along with all the bag carriers and the 4 guides who took us up to Fuego, they were beyond incredible. They were so uplifting and made sure we all made it safely. This was hands down the most physically challenging thing I’ve ever done; but also one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. ***Please tip the carriers and guides! They work so hard and I cannot imagine how they do this repeatedly with such amazing energy*** The views were unreal. The hike pushed me in ways I didn’t expect. And through every hard moment, the guides were so supportive and encouraging. They checked in on us constantly, answered every question we had, and made us feel safe the entire time. I definitely recommend investing in a bag carrier on the way up and down. I think it saved me To get up the mountain. The food was also surprisingly great, especially considering where we were! What impressed me most was how effortlessly they did it. They carried bags, supported hikers, guided us up Fuego; all like it was nothing. Meanwhile we were fighting for our lives !! and they were calm, steady, and uplifting the entire time. Truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. So grateful to this whole team for getting us through it.

5.00Jose and Ruby were the best guides ever. I can't recommend Blue Sky enough. They prioritize safety and the cabins were super warm and comfortable.
