Our all included tour is the best option to enjoy this beautiful volcano which travelers have rated it as the most beautiful volcano in all Central America, its beauty is due to the twin volcano Fuego which is active and performs an extraordinary eruption for all the travelers at our camping area on Acatenango.
Our company is located in front of the Fuego Volcano and if it is clear enough you will be able to see Pacaya and Agua volcanoes as well.
Each cabin has a pillow, – 6°C sleeping bag, extra blanket, a 5″ or 12cm comfortable mattress, under the matt all over the tent we have a waterproof carpet to isolate the cold from the bottom.
In our tourism project we work together with a cooperative of local guides CAT (Comité de Autogestión Turística) conformed by the people of the community San Jose Calderas, Chimaltenango.
Our cabins are shared by 2 or 4 people (the number of people per cabin depends on availability when the reservation is confirmed).

7:15 am - Breakfast at CA Travelers. We have 6 breakfast options so you are ready for the adventure. Please be on time to enjoy your breakfast with no rush.

8:00 am - Pick up at CA Travelers office. Our shuttle will pick you up from CA Travelers to the Supply Center.

8:15 am - Supply Center. At the supply center we will provide you everything that you need, we need to pack fast to continue to the entrance of the volcano. Here we have the storage room to leave your stuff behind.

9:30 am - Ride to the Acatenango Volcano. We have 45 minutes in the shuttle to the volcano

10:30 am - Start Hike. We take the before picture with the whole group, we introduce the guides and we are ready to go

1:30 pm - Lunch Time. After the first two hours, the group will stop for lunch. That way you have 45 minutes to recover your energy

4:00 pm - CA Travelers Campsite. Arriving to the campsite, the guides will pre pare Guatemalan hot chocolate (Real Kakao) as a reward for your effort and to enjoy the volcano.

7:00 pm - Dinner Time. Whenever you get hungry the guides will prepare the dinner for you. After dinner you can go to sleep or watch the volcano all night long

Acatenango
Top of the Volcano: Be ready to hike to the top of the volcano. It takes 1.5 hours to reach the top. Enjoy the sunrise. Breakfast time: When you return to the campsite, the guides will prepare the breakfast for you. Leaving the campsite: Pack your stuff and start coming down. It takes 2.5 hours. Entrance of the Volcano: We take the after picture and we get back to the shuttle.

Ride to the supply center to drop off the equipment, the staff will be waiting for you with a delicious smoothie. Back to Antigua: Return to Antigua, you will be drop off at your hostel

5.00It was a great experience that was really well organized by CA Travellers! Especially the tour guide Leo was really nice and likeable and took great care of us! I recommend everyone have this experience here as I have heard from many other people that other agencies offer a really bad experience, especially in the care, preparation and organization of the tour. With this agency there was really no problem and this is also very much thanks to the guide Leo who took good care of our well-being :)

5.00More than just a tour – Passion, history, and genuine adventure! We stumbled upon CA Travelers by chance while walking through Antigua, and it turned out to be the best find of our trip! We started with the Coffee Plantation Tour on Fatbikes. One of the owners led the tour herself, and she was incredible—a walking encyclopedia of Guatemalan history! You can truly feel that she and her husband pour their hearts and souls into every detail. We were so inspired by their commitment to the community and their mission to build local schools that we actually cancelled our other pre-booked tours with different agencies just to book everything through them. Beyond the activities, we also booked all our transports and shuttles with them. Everything was seamless, reliable, and took the stress out of traveling. The Acatenango tour was the absolute highlight! It is very demanding, especially if you add the extra hike to Fuego, but every bit of effort was worth it. Everything was perfectly planned and prepared from A to Z. If you are in Antigua and looking for depth, professionalism, and authentic passion, this is the place to go. We are already looking forward to our next adventure with them. 100% recommended!

5.00Our Acatenango overnight hike was truly the experience of a lifetime and it wouldn’t have been the same without our incredible guide, Marvin! 😁 From start to finish, everything was well-organised, we always felt safe and had so much fun along the way. Marvin was super helpful when my friend was feeling really altitude sick, making sure she was okay and getting enough breaks. The whole CA travellers crew (the guides who walked up with us too) were all really friendly and encouraging. Watching Volcán de Fuego erupt under the stars and at sunrise was absolutely surreal — something I’ll never forget. The camp setup was great, the food was fab (especially after that climb!) and the whole team created such a positive and supportive atmosphere. If you’re considering the Acatenango hike, I’d definitely recommend booking with this company!

5.00The experience with this program could not have gone better. Our initial guide on the bus was full of energy and very knowledgeable. The guided going up set a great pace, were very friendly and prepared everything perfectly. The food and water provided by CA was actually very very good. This trip was the highlight of my 2 weeks in guatemala.

5.00Great experience! They have guides that stay with different levels (fast, medium, slow hikers), so you feel supported at all times. The food they provide is great as well. AMAZING experience. Very challenging but worth it! They also have porters you can use to carry your things.

5.00Very good and enjoyable experience. The guides were super helpful and very informative. They were there to help every step of the way. Marvin was amazing and a great leader to the tour. Give that man a raise! To climb up and guide a group of people and control the tour like that great work!!

5.00The hike is tough, but the end is rewarding. I did the optional Fuego hike. Even tougher, but more rewarding. Our guides were friendly and helpful. We were set up with any gear you needed. I would recommend hiring a porter on the way up!

5.00The Acatenango overnight hike was absolutely unforgettable. Seeing the eruptions up close made the extra Fuego hike completely worth it. Huge thanks to Marvin, who was an incredible guide. He truly made us feel like a family for those couple of days. The younger guide (sorry I don't remember his name) was also very supportive and helped me through the whole Fuego hike. Even when it was tough, I felt cared for and safe the entire time. Highly recommended doing it with CA Travelers and Marvin if you’re looking for an unforgettable experience.

5.00This was a 10/10 experience- a must if it’s on your bucket list. You become family with your group- the staff/porters are amazing & worth the Q200! If you are physically fit enough, doing all three hikes is worth it (base camp, fuego & acatenango summit). the food provided it delicious & nutritious. vibes were great the whole time!
