Our all included tour is the best option to enjoy this beautiful volcano which travelers have rated it as the most beautiful volcano in all Central America, its beauty is due to the twin volcano Fuego which is active and performs an extraordinary eruption for all the travelers at our camping area on Acatenango.
Our company is located in front of the Fuego Volcano and if it is clear enough you will be able to see Pacaya and Agua volcanoes as well.
Each cabin has a pillow, – 6°C sleeping bag, extra blanket, a 5″ or 12cm comfortable mattress, under the matt all over the tent we have a waterproof carpet to isolate the cold from the bottom.
In our tourism project we work together with a cooperative of local guides CAT (Comité de Autogestión Turística) conformed by the people of the community San Jose Calderas, Chimaltenango.
Our cabins are shared by 2 or 4 people (the number of people per cabin depends on availability when the reservation is confirmed).

7:15 am - Breakfast at CA Travelers. We have 6 breakfast options so you are ready for the adventure. Please be on time to enjoy your breakfast with no rush.

8:00 am - Pick up at CA Travelers office. Our shuttle will pick you up from CA Travelers to the Supply Center.

8:15 am - Supply Center. At the supply center we will provide you everything that you need, we need to pack fast to continue to the entrance of the volcano. Here we have the storage room to leave your stuff behind.

9:30 am - Ride to the Acatenango Volcano. We have 45 minutes in the shuttle to the volcano

10:30 am - Start Hike. We take the before picture with the whole group, we introduce the guides and we are ready to go

1:30 pm - Lunch Time. After the first two hours, the group will stop for lunch. That way you have 45 minutes to recover your energy

4:00 pm - CA Travelers Campsite. Arriving to the campsite, the guides will pre pare Guatemalan hot chocolate (Real Kakao) as a reward for your effort and to enjoy the volcano.

7:00 pm - Dinner Time. Whenever you get hungry the guides will prepare the dinner for you. After dinner you can go to sleep or watch the volcano all night long

On the way back at the CA Travelers supply center, a Smoothie will be waiting for you!!
Acatenango
Top of the Volcano: Be ready to hike to the top of the volcano. It takes 1.5 hours to reach the top. Enjoy the sunrise. Breakfast time: When you return to the campsite, the guides will prepare the breakfast for you. Leaving the campsite: Pack your stuff and start coming down. It takes 2.5 hours. Entrance of the Volcano: We take the after picture and we get back to the shuttle.

Ride to the supply center to drop off the equipment, the staff will be waiting for you with a delicious smoothie. Back to Antigua: Return to Antigua, you will be drop off at your hostel

5.00I had an unforgettable experience with this tour. It was very challenging, but with the help of our main guide Marvin we have all arrived super well at the base camp and in a good time. Very good organization, punctual, good cabins with direct view to the volcano fire. From the bed you could directly see the rashes at night. All inclusive. CA provides everything you need to climb well and not get cold. All other guides and carriers (you can reserve them if you want for your backpack and pay directly to them). It was an excellent tour.
This experience can't be missed!

4.00I did the Acatenango and Fuego hike with our lovely host and guide Marvin. This is a hike and company I would definitely recommend! Everything was well organized from breakfast and introduction with the group, gathering of warm clothes and other equipment, transport to the starting point of the hike, food during the day, cabins where we spent the night and the hike itself. The group was very fun and we took breaks during the hike to basecamp to accommodate everyone on the group (a bit too many breaks for my preference, but it's good we didn't leave anyone behind). You had the option to rent a porter for your backpack, which I would also recommend. Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather so we couldn't see anything from basecamp, but I was glad I did the extra Fuego hike. Seeing the volcano erupt is a once in a lifetime experience, that I wouldn't miss for the world! All together I had a very good experience!

5.00The hike with CA travelers was really good! They knew what they were doing and it felt comfortable and safe. The cabins at the top are pretty good and better than I expected. The view was incredible. Marvin was fantastic, he was fun and chill. One thing I learned that I didn’t know booking them is that all of the money you spend goes into investing in schools for the community in the surrounding area, which feels really good, because the Guatemalan people are wonderful. A few notes for the hike itself, ITS HARD! Pack layers, lots of them. And bring extra because everything gets wet, you hike through the rain forest. And hire a porter!!! You will enjoy it significantly more if you hire a porter. The money helps the porters out and their families too. They’re all very sweet.

5.00I had an amazing experience hiking Acatenango with CA Travelers. One thing I really appreciated was how many essentials they were able to lend out, including a winter jacket. It gets incredibly cold up there, so don’t underestimate the weather; bring plenty of layers. The food was also surprisingly good, and I highly recommend hiring a porter, at least for the way up. It not only makes the climb much more manageable but also supports the local community. Our main guide, Marvin, was fantastic, and we had a fun group overall. The hike itself is tough, but we were lucky with the weather and had incredible views the entire way. Watching Fuego erupt throughout the evening and then catching an unforgettable sunrise from the summit of Acatenango made the effort completely worth it. Overall, it was a really rewarding experience and an absolute must-do in Guatemala. CA Travelers turned out to be a great agency. I hadn’t heard much about them beforehand, but they came recommended by other groups in the area, and I’m glad I went with them.

5.00CA travelers is the BEST!!!!!! Carlos was the best guide we could have asked for - patient, kind, and kept our spirits high even when we had some disappointing weather. This group is the best in the business and they made this difficult hike seamless and all of the logistics were incredibly smooth. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience
