Our all included tour is the best option to enjoy this beautiful volcano which travelers have rated it as the most beautiful volcano in all Central America, its beauty is due to the twin volcano Fuego which is active and performs an extraordinary eruption for all the travelers at our camping area on Acatenango.
Our company is located in front of the Fuego Volcano and if it is clear enough you will be able to see Pacaya and Agua volcanoes as well.
Each cabin has a pillow, – 6°C sleeping bag, extra blanket, a 5″ or 12cm comfortable mattress, under the matt all over the tent we have a waterproof carpet to isolate the cold from the bottom.
In our tourism project we work together with a cooperative of local guides CAT (Comité de Autogestión Turística) conformed by the people of the community San Jose Calderas, Chimaltenango.
Our cabins are shared by 2 or 4 people (the number of people per cabin depends on availability when the reservation is confirmed).

7:15 am - Breakfast at CA Travelers. We have 6 breakfast options so you are ready for the adventure. Please be on time to enjoy your breakfast with no rush.

8:00 am - Pick up at CA Travelers office. Our shuttle will pick you up from CA Travelers to the Supply Center.

8:15 am - Supply Center. At the supply center we will provide you everything that you need, we need to pack fast to continue to the entrance of the volcano. Here we have the storage room to leave your stuff behind.

9:30 am - Ride to the Acatenango Volcano. We have 45 minutes in the shuttle to the volcano

10:30 am - Start Hike. We take the before picture with the whole group, we introduce the guides and we are ready to go

1:30 pm - Lunch Time. After the first two hours, the group will stop for lunch. That way you have 45 minutes to recover your energy

4:00 pm - CA Travelers Campsite. Arriving to the campsite, the guides will pre pare Guatemalan hot chocolate (Real Kakao) as a reward for your effort and to enjoy the volcano.

7:00 pm - Dinner Time. Whenever you get hungry the guides will prepare the dinner for you. After dinner you can go to sleep or watch the volcano all night long

On the way back at the CA Travelers supply center, a Smoothie will be waiting for you!!
Acatenango
Top of the Volcano: Be ready to hike to the top of the volcano. It takes 1.5 hours to reach the top. Enjoy the sunrise. Breakfast time: When you return to the campsite, the guides will prepare the breakfast for you. Leaving the campsite: Pack your stuff and start coming down. It takes 2.5 hours. Entrance of the Volcano: We take the after picture and we get back to the shuttle.

Ride to the supply center to drop off the equipment, the staff will be waiting for you with a delicious smoothie. Back to Antigua: Return to Antigua, you will be drop off at your hostel

5.00We had such an amazing experience with CA travellers, I cannot recommend them highly enough. They provided really helpful, clear information before hand and were great at answering any questions I had. The food provided on the hike is great and there is plenty of it! The view is amazing from their campsite and the facilities were brilliant as well. They have recently built a permanent structure with floor to ceiling windows and lots of tables/benches where you can eat your meals and relax with other hikers which was great as I had assumed we would need to sit outside in the cold. They have private 2 person cabins with windows and everything you could need for a comfortable nights sleep. Diego our guide was brilliant as well. He was very kind, informative and made the whole experience really fun for everyone while also ensuring we always felt really safe. I would definitely go with CA travellers if I was ever doing this hike again.

5.00Great experience with CA Travelers for the Acatenango and Fuego hikes. Our guide was awesome, and so was the rest of the crew. There was a nice little common shelter to avoid getting soaked in the rain showers, with large windows to watch the volcano erupt 🌋. I definitely recommend this agency—security is top-notch and the tour is very well organized. Thanks for everything

1.00In all my years of traveling this is the absolute worst company ever. I booked the intense acatenango tour with this company a few weeks before hand for my wife and I. And within the booking time and the tour I found out my wife is pregnant. Naturally my wife decided it would best to not do this intense tour 1) being pregnant and 2) not having close access to medical services in the case of an emergency. I messaged the company to see if we could cancel or do something else. They said they would look in to other options as we could not cancel, okay. They did NOT get back to me with other options, and of course we were not going to show up for the intense tour. Here is the last thing they said to me even after I followed up after this message: “We are very sorry to hear that. We completely understand the situation. However, according to our cancellation policies, refunds are not usually granted. Nevertheless, we will review your case with our team and providers to assess whether there is any possible alternative within our means. We will inform you as soon as we have a response” Any reputable company of any kind would have an exception for a PREGNANT WOMEN or at the very least they would respond to me after I followed up. You would think it’s a given. This company is full of sexists who don’t respect women and who robbed money from me, my wife and our unborn child. Book somewhere else.

5.00This trip was certainly a highlight of the time in Guatemala. The guides are friendly and well equipped to take care of the group. The optional hike to Fuego and the sunrise summit hike are well worth it! The .pdf that is provided upon confirmation has all the information one could need to prepare for this hike.
Life Changing Experience

5.00Growing up on the East Coast of the US, I have never climbed anything higher than 400 m. This hike not only challenged me physically and mentally, but provided a life-changing experience that I will not soon forget. Speacial thanks to Marvin, he was an excellent guide and made all aspects of the experience comfortable and fun! My advice: Do the fuego hike, use a porter, and do not forget your altitude medication (For my sea-level friends)!

5.00Marvin was incredible and did an amazing job taking care of everyone and making the trip unforgettable! So much work is done to make sure everything is prepared for you and you make the most of your time on the hike. The sleeping cabins are wonderful, my boyfriend and I shared a cabin alone together and you can see the volcano erupting through the plexiglass. Definitely do the fuego hike if you can, it’s totally worth it. Thanks CA!
