National Museum of Ghana
It is the largest and oldest of the six museums under the administration of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board opened on 5th March 1957 by Duchess of Kent, Princess Marina. ..Objects in the archeology section range from the Stone Age period to the recent historical past. Those on permanent exhibition at the ethnography gallery include chief's regalia, indigenous Ghanaian musical instruments, gold weights, beads, traditional textiles, stools and pottery. There are also objects from other African countries acquired through exchange. Examples are Senufo masks from Ivory Coast, Zulu wooden figures and bead-ware from Southern Africa. In addition there are also ancient Ife bronze heads from Nigeria and Bushongo carvings from the Congo. Exhibits at the small but impressive art gallery consist mainly of contemporary Ghanaian paintings executed in oils, pastels, acrylics, watercolours and collages. Apart from these there are sculpture pieces in different media.

5.00We had the best experience exploring Accra with Kwame Tours! Everything from booking to communications was smooth and easy. The tour was well planned and filled with meaningful stops like the Osu Castle, Independence Square and the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum where we really felt the history and pride of Ghana. Our tour guide, Clinton, and the driver were amazing! So friendly and knowledgeable and fun to be around. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and learned a lot. This tour made our visit to Accra truly unforgettable. Highly recommend Kwame Tours if you want to experience the real heart of the city.

5.00I took two tours with Kwame. First I did the Accra City tour with Clinton. He was such a warm, knowledgeable guide who went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent time and got to experience everything we wanted to see. When we shared that we wanted to see the beach. He even made sure we stopped at a beach stop on the water for lunch. He was exceptional. Later that week, I took the botanical gardens, coco farm and ATV tour with Daniel. Who was equally as outstanding. Riding the ATVs was so much fun and I felt so safe, even though this was my first time doing this. After interacting with both guides, I can only conclude that Kwame tours is the best and makes sure everyone they hire the passion for the work is evident. Daniel, even compiled sent a custom video of us riding on the ATVs so we would have it later for the memories of our trip. If I had more days in Ghana, I would I booked more tours with them. I just ran out of time and had to return home.

5.00We had an incredible tour with Clinton! He took us to the National Museum, the Kwame Nkrumah Museum, the art shops, Independence Square, and Labadi Beach. He was knowledgeable and excellent! A must book!!

5.00We had a mostly wonderful experience on the Accra Detailed City Tour. Clinton, our tour guide, was truly exceptional—warm, welcoming, and attentive to my family. He made us feel at ease throughout the day and skillfully navigated interactions with vendors, always advocating for fair and respectful exchanges. We especially enjoyed our dinner at Labadi Restaurant, where we had meaningful conversations about everyday life in Accra and the U.S.—a highlight that added depth to the experience. That said, we were dismayed by the lack of upfront communication regarding itinerary changes. We toured on a Sunday and were simply told the city would be "calm." However, key sites like the W.E.B. DuBois Museum, and Makola Market were closed—something that was never mentioned in advance. These were locations we were especially looking forward to, so it was a real letdown to find them excluded. Had we been notified in advance, we would have simply selected the next day. We’d still recommend this tour—particularly because of Clinton’s outstanding guidance—but with one caveat: If any part of the itinerary is subject to change based on the day of the week, that should be clearly communicated beforehand so travelers can plan accordingly or adjust expectations.
Overall the tour was good.

4.00The tour was very educational. The only downside is the fact that the driver was late and the vehicle used with 3 adults in the back was very small and cramped. We were not able to get to the last place because we started late. Time is of the essence and a more comfortable vehicle would be nice. Other than that, Clinton our tour guide was great. He is very knowledgeable.

5.00Our tour with Clinton and Daniel was totally great. Clinton was the main guide, but Daniel was a good partner in showing us the city too. We appreciated all of our stops today, but maybe my favorite was going to Jamestown and seeing the fishing boats and saying hello to the friendly people there. Clinton and Daniel are proud of their heritage and it shows, patiently answering all of our questions joyfully. Two thumbs up.

5.00Although I went solo, my tour guide Clinton and the driver make me feel that I was with friends right away. The time spent was definitely an investment as I discovered the people, the culture, the meanings of rituals, clothing, food, etc. Regards
