National Museum of Ethiopia
National Museum of Ethiopia, It contains many precious local archaeological finds such as fossilized remains of the most famous of which is "Lucy," the partial skeleton. Selam, found between 2000 and 2004. The basement is dedicated to archaeological and paleoanthropological sections. . The first floor contains objects from ancient and medieval periods, as well as regalia and memorabilia from former rulers, who include Emperor Haile Selassie. The second floor shows art work in a chronological order, from traditional to contemporary works. Afewerk Tekle's massive African Heritage is one of the most notable pieces. The second floor contains a collection of secular arts and crafts, including traditional weapons, jewellery, utensils, clothing and musical instruments. Finally, the third floor has an ethnographic display. Here, the museum tries to give an overview of the cultural richness and variety of the peoples of Ethiopia.

5.00Yihun was a fantastic guide. The showed us Addis and were very friendly too. He was patient and took time to explain everything that was happening. Luckily for us, our tour fell on a day when everyone was commemorating lento and so the churches were full and bustling! Definitely recommend.

4.00Good little city tour. Could do with more time at the museum where they have all the fossils (including Lucy) and less at the ethnographic (no offense, but it just wasn’t as interesting). Also: Make sure you bring toilet paper and hand sanitizer, even though you’re in the city!

5.00I had the absolute pleasure of exploring Addis Ababa with three exceptional guides — Dagim, Yoseph, and Jorge — and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the very first moment, they made me feel welcome, safe, and genuinely excited to discover the city. Their knowledge, professionalism, and passion for Ethiopian history and culture truly set them apart. One of the highlights of the tour was visiting the sarcophagus of Emperor Haile Selassie at Holy Trinity Cathedral. The way they explained the historical and political significance of Selassie’s reign gave the visit incredible depth and meaning. It wasn’t just sightseeing — it was storytelling at its finest. At Addis Ababa University, including the Ethnological Museum, their explanations brought Ethiopia’s rich cultural diversity to life. They connected history, anthropology, and modern Ethiopian society in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. I left with a much deeper appreciation of the country’s heritage. We also explored the vibrant Mercato (often called the largest open-air market in Africa), where they skillfully guided me through the lively atmosphere, explaining how the market functions, its economic importance, and the daily lives of the people who work there. It felt authentic and immersive, never rushed or superficial. Beyond the main sites, what truly made the experience special were the countless insights they shared about Addis Ababa and the surrounding areas — from local traditions and politics to everyday life and hidden gems around the city. Their ability to answer every question thoughtfully and thoroughly was impressive. Dagim, Yoseph, and Jorge work beautifully as a team. 5.00Wonderful 2-Day Experience in Ethiopia We had an excellent 2-day trip to Debre Lebanos Monastery and a City Tour in Addis Ababa with Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel. Everything was very well organized from beginning to end. Our guide in Portuguese, Mr. Lucy, was very professional, friendly and familiar with local history and culture. The driver, Gerge, was excellent, and traveling in his new BYD car made the experience even more comfortable. After a long and tiring trip from Texas to Cape Town, with a 2-day stop in Addis Ababa, the staff managed to help us with the booking of a good last minute hotel, which was very appreciated. The entire staff is extremely dedicated, especially the tour operator Neway, who was attentive, efficient and always available. We were also very pleased to accept payment by credit card, even with last minute contact. We highly recommend Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel for those looking for a reliable and high quality service in Ethiopia

5.00I had a wonderful 2-day trip in Ethiopia visiting Addis Ababa and Debre Libanos with Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel. After I arrived in Addis Ababa, I was picked up from the airport and dropped at my hotel smoothly. Around 11:00 AM, they picked me up again for an Addis Ababa city sightseeing tour, which was very well organized and enjoyable. Abe was my guide for both days, and he was excellent, knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience feel relaxed and personal. On the second day, I visited Debre Libanos, and it was a beautiful and peaceful experience. Everything was well timed, and I never felt rushed. Their price was a bit higher compared to some other companies, but the service was truly worth it. The tour included two lunches and a traditional Ethiopian coffee experience, which was a great touch and made the trip even more special. Thank you, Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel, for a memorable experience. I highly recommend

5.00While travelling from Tokyo on Ethiopian Airlines, I booked a sightseeing tour of the city with Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel to make the most of my long layover time in Addis Ababa. As a result, it was a great experience. Our guide, **Abe, was knowledgeable and helpful, and our driver, George**, was very courteous and safe to travel. We had them picked up at 7:00 in the morning and guided around the main sights of Addis Ababa over the course of the day. They explained history, culture and atmosphere of the city in an easy to understand way, and it was a very fulfilling time. The tour went smoothly and I was comfortable throughout. At 18:00 in the evening, I was dropped off at Bole International Airport in time for my next flight. It was really nice to be able to fully enjoy the city instead of just spending a long layover at the airport. If you have transit in Addis Ababa, I would really recommend Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel.
