We keep our passenger groups small so that you have more room to move around the boat, and enjoy your cruise without overcrowding or missing dolphin sightings due to a shortage of viewing space. Our boat has a low-lying profile which means you get closer to the wildlife!
When you board our boat you’ll be offered a complimentary drink. Choose from beer, award-winning local wine or non-alcoholic options. You’ll also enjoy our famous home-baked treats made from our family recipe and served to you by our delightful onboard crew.
We are committed to the conservation of our harbour's environment and wildlife. After all, it’s the centre point of our business.

As a holder of a New Zealand Department of Conservation Marine Mammal Viewing Permit, we are legally authorized to take guests on dolphin and seal viewing tours. We are proud to be one of only two year-round operators in Akaroa Harbour with this permit, so we encourage you to choose responsibly. Enjoy a 2-hour nature cruise on our luxury catamaran in Akaroa Harbour, a hotspot for Hector's dolphins, White-flippered penguins, and New Zealand fur seals. While we can't guarantee sightings as the animals are wild, we have a high success rate. If you don't see dolphins, cruise with us again for free. Our friendly check-in team, skippers, onboard guides, and expert dolphin-spotting dogs equipped with life-vests will ensure an unforgettable experience. As a conservation measure, we do not swim with the dolphins. To redeem a voucher, promotion code, or Top10 membership card, please contact us directly via phone or email. 5.00This was a wonderful experience for the family. The crew were all informative, friendly and welcoming. We saw multiple dolphins on multiple occasions, as well as seals, and learnt a lot about the history of the area, surrounding nature and wildlife.

4.00It was a very nice tour of the bay. We have seen beautiful rock formations, seals and birds , but unfortunately no dolphins. However, they have given us vouchers that we can redeem within half a year. In addition, rebooking to an earlier time was very straightforward and accommodating.
Really worthwhile trip. Live up to the promise.

5.00On a whim, we decided to do this dolphin cruise and were so glad we did. We saw a lot of Hector's Dolphins on the trip. The skipper's commentary was informative and we saw and learnt a lot about Akaroa and its's surrounds.

5.00We had a wonderful experience with the Akaroa Dolphin Cruise. It’s a lovely family-run operation spanning two generations, and the team gave us a very warm welcome. The boat was excellent—clean and very well maintained. The cruise was both enjoyable and informative, with great insights into Akaroa’s history. We were lucky to spot dolphins, including the famous Hector’s dolphins, as well as seals along the way. A special mention to Albie, the family’s dolphin-tracking dog—very diligent, disciplined, and a delight to have on board. Highly recommended! Chris (Malaysian tourist)

5.00A beautiful morning on the water. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great commentary and information about the history of this area. Scenery was stunning, notably being up close to the cliffs and seeing the amazing geological features. The obvious highlight was seeing Hector dolphins, as well as fur seals and their pups enjoying the sunshine. Highly recommend this tour.

5.00What an amazing morning! The skipper and Lucy were so welcoming and did their utmost to make sure we got to see dolphins and seals. Buster the dog was a great dolphin spotter. A complimentary drink and a delicious cookie just topped off an amazing experience. Would highly recommend.

5.00What a lovely trip! Small group on a nice boat with a great crew (and Albie, of course). Drinks and good information as we rode through the harbor. I thought we'd be looking for dolphins, but no, the dolphins excitedly found us! Hector's Dolphins love playing under and all around the boat — we had great views of the frolicking. We also saw a couple of White-flippered penguins and some seals basking on rocks. Akaroa is a great visit anyway, but this trip seals the deal.

5.00This is a must do activity if near the Banks peninsula. Or take a trip out there for dolphins, bistros, and handmade arts. I chose this outfitter because they do not allow for people to swim with these ultra rare and endangered dolphins. This boat ride exposes riders to beautiful scenery, incredible animals and iconic ocean waterways otherwise inaccessible. We saw seals (or sea lions) in slumber, blue penguins bopping on waves, and Hectors dolphins playing a the boat's bow. It was wonderful! Plenty of opportunities to capture videos and take pictures. This is one truly special NZ experience not to be missed!
