We keep our passenger groups small so that you have more room to move around the boat, and enjoy your cruise without overcrowding or missing dolphin sightings due to a shortage of viewing space. Our boat has a low-lying profile which means you get closer to the wildlife!
When you board our boat you’ll be offered a complimentary drink. Choose from beer, award-winning local wine or non-alcoholic options. You’ll also enjoy our famous home-baked treats made from our family recipe and served to you by our delightful onboard crew.
We are committed to the conservation of our harbour's environment and wildlife. After all, it’s the centre point of our business.

As a holder of a New Zealand Department of Conservation Marine Mammal Viewing Permit, we are legally authorized to take guests on dolphin and seal viewing tours. We are proud to be one of only two year-round operators in Akaroa Harbour with this permit, so we encourage you to choose responsibly. Enjoy a 2-hour nature cruise on our luxury catamaran in Akaroa Harbour, a hotspot for Hector's dolphins, White-flippered penguins, and New Zealand fur seals. While we can't guarantee sightings as the animals are wild, we have a high success rate. If you don't see dolphins, cruise with us again for free. Our friendly check-in team, skippers, onboard guides, and expert dolphin-spotting dogs equipped with life-vests will ensure an unforgettable experience. As a conservation measure, we do not swim with the dolphins. To redeem a voucher, promotion code, or Top10 membership card, please contact us directly via phone or email. We cannot offer discounts after a booking has been made online. Please note, check-in is no later than 30 minutes prior to the departure, with boarding 15 minutes beforehand.

5.00Very well organized trip and very accommodating staff given challenges with the weather. Captain, crew and dolphin dog, Albie, were very informative and provided drinks and cookies. We saw about 10-15 Hector’s dolphins, even some leaping out of the water, together with fur seals and a white flippered penguin. Very enjoyable experience and would do again if we are in the area.

5.00Great fun for all ages. I did this cruise with my husband, 4 kids (aged between 3 yrs and 8 yrs) and my parents. We saw lots of dolphins, a penguin and some seals. The dolphins enjoyed swimming up close to the boat which was so fun to see. We all enjoyed the drink upon arrival and home made cookie at the end. I especially appreciate the very warm jackets they handed out to us (upon request) as we were a little bit under prepared for the cool sea breeze. My kids enjoyed having a photo in the captains chair and a little “steer” of the boat. The crew were all very friendly. Thankyou for a great experience!

5.00We enjoyed the most amazing experience with Akaroa Dolphins. We got to see many Hector’s dolphins, White Finned Penguins, and the baby seals frolicking in their nursery pond. And luckily the weather was calm and sunny, so we were even able to go out of the harbour and into the ocean where we enjoyed even more amazing scenery and dolphin spotting. We loved the size of the group we travelled with because Akaroa Dolphins kept the numbers down and we were given a more personal experience. Our guides were really friendly and professional. They shared lots of information, and had time to answer our questions and chat as we went along. A most impressive piece of information we learned was the part they played in striving and succeeding in setting up a large conservation area in Akaroa Harbour. They obviously love and value their local environment, and our experience was absolutely the highlight of our stay in this charming town.

5.002 hour cruise from Akaroa. The scenery is stunning and the crew all very knowledgeable and professional. We saw penguins, a nursery of seal pups and lots of Hector’s dolphins. Lots of room to walk around the boat. A privilege to be taken so close to these rare animals.

5.00Was so glad to hear this is a family run business and they are locals to Akaroa, it made the experience more wholesome and you can tell they put so much effort into what they do. We received a drink on arrival and even homemade cookies at the end which was a lovely touch! The staff onboard were so friendly and helpful and there’s even Albie the dolphin dog onboard to help. We seen penguins, seals and dolphins so it was the best outcome for the trip and I learned so much from the captain letting us in on all the knowledge of the area and wildlife. I would book through this company again 100%. They deserve all the awards they’ve won and been nominated for.

5.00Went with a Road Scholar tour group, what a great experience! Our Captain was knowledgeable and fun. We saw seals, dolphins and penguins. Highly recommend this tour!
