Step into the 1930s world of the hit Channel 5 / Masterpiece PBS show "All Creatures Great & Small". On this tour you will spend a remarkable day visiting film locations you will instantly recognise from the show as you pass through the astonishingly beautiful Yorkshire Dales countryside.
Follow in the footsteps of James, Siegfried, Tristan, Helen and Mrs Hall as you stroll through Darrowby village, past the Vet's Surgery and the Greengrocers to the Drover's Arms. Wave to Mrs Pomphrey and Tricki Woo as you pass by their mansion. You pass over the narrow bridge where James always encounters another vehicle, on your way to Helen's family farm set in the stunning Yorkshire Dales scenery, dotted with sheep and friendly cattle.
You will visit these and other locations in a comfy, air-conditioned minivan accompanied by an experienced driver and an expert guide. This tour is exclusive to your group and we can collect you from your hotel in the Windermere area, so it is your day!

You will see: The famous church where Helen nearly married wealthy landowner Hugh Hulton. Skeldale House, the home of Siegfried, Tristan, James and Mrs Hall. The lonely spot where James gets off the bus in the very first episode. The village green where Darrowby Fair was held. The Drover's Arms, Tristan's favourite watering hole. Mrs Pumphrey's mansion, home to Tricki Woo. Alderson's Farm, home to Helen, her spirited young sister Jenny and Scruff the dog. The perilously narrow bridge where James always seems to encounter another vehicle. Stunning landscape of the Yorkshire Dales and its wonderful array of animals.

5.00We had an incredible trip to the Yorkshire Dales with Tim of English Lake Tours. He spent the entire day with us and his commentary was engaging and knowledgable about so many subjects, from the composition of the rock walls to the lives of the farmers and their animals. He not only showed us so many of the filming locations for All Creatures Great and Small, but knew the show intimately and we enjoyed discussing the characters and the real life of the author. We had a fabulous lunch at the Culver Arms (interior of the Drovers Arms in the show - highly recommend the mushroom Wellington!) I was especially grateful for the patience and care Tim showed for my parents who have mobility challenges, as well as hearing issues. Tim's narration was amplified in the back and my delighted 75-year old mom - for whom this trip was a life-long dream - could hear every word. We will treasure the memories of this magical day and be eternally grateful to Tim for giving my mom one of the best days of her whole life. ~ Kelly, Joe, Karen and Gerry from Massachusetts

5.00All Creatures Great & Small Tour. Tim was fantastic!! I loved the small group tour! It was such a better experience. I would take a tour with this company again. Absolutely!! Great for families and those who want to really experience ACG&S and the Yorkshire Dales!

Our tour guide, Tim, knew exactly what highlights were important to experience and shared so much interesting information with us. He made it a wonderful day!

5.00We took this English Lake District tour with Tim who was great. He took us to many locations in the dales that were scenes from the series: James stepping off at the wrong bus stop, the church where he marries Helen, Helen's family farm, etc. He told us about the dales geography and history and kept us involved and excited about it all.
Magical tour not to be missed!

5.00My wife and I along with a friend joined another couple on this tour with guide Tim. Absolutely superb. Tim is beyond knowkedese---witty, clever, full of stories and anecdotes. Visited every possible filming site from All Creatures Great and Small. Lunch was excellent at Craven Arms ("Darrowby"). From Alderson farm to the church where James and Helen married to Skeldale House. The entire day was magical. The Yorkshire Dales are magnificent. Tim was the perfect guide. Out of five stars, I give Tim and this tour EIGHT!
