Your tour begins with a morning pickup in Bishkek, heading east toward the historic Burana Tower. The drive takes you through a mix of city outskirts, open fields, and small villages, offering a glimpse of local life beyond the capital. As we follow the road along the Kazakhstan border, you’ll have the chance to admire the stunning Tien Shan mountains on the horizon, weather permitting. Along the way, we’ll pass through Tokmok, a former Soviet industrial hub, where traces of its past can still be seen in old monuments and architecture. Moving further into the countryside, the landscape becomes more scenic, with rolling hills and vast open spaces leading to the ancient minaret of Burana, a fascinating remnant of the once-thriving Karakhanid civilization.
Burana Tower and Konorchek Canyon
At Burana Tower, our guests will have the opportunity to explore the historical 11th-century minaret, once part of the ancient city of Balasagun on the Silk Road. Climbing to the top of the 25-meter tower offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Chüy Valley and the distant Tian Shan mountains. Surrounding the tower, guests will find ancient balbal stone statues—Turkic gravestones with intricate carvings that are over 1,000 years old. Guests can also admire prehistoric petroglyphs, featuring rock carvings of animals and symbols. A small archaeological museum on-site displays artifacts such as pottery, coins, and tools from the ancient city, providing a deeper insight into Kyrgyzstan’s rich cultural heritage.

5.00We had an incredible experience on the All in One Day tour to Konorchek Canyon, Issyk Kul Lake, and Burana Tower with Magic Tours KG, and our guide Shaheer truly made it unforgettable. From the start, Shaheer was exceptionally humble, friendly, and kind. He made everyone feel welcome and was always attentive to our needs. Whether it was helping us navigate the canyon or sharing interesting stories about the sites, his calm and supportive nature stood out. The tour itself was well-organized and covered a beautiful mix of natural landscapes and cultural heritage. But what made it truly special was Shaheer’s thoughtful guidance and warm personality. We highly recommend this tour — and especially Shaheer — to anyone looking for a meaningful and enjoyable day trip in Kyrgyzstan!

5.00One of the best day tours I had travelling around Central Asia. Our guide Nuraly was lovely man, patient & knowledgeable. He took care of our group very well. And on top of that he takes instagram/facebook worthy photos. Highly recommended.
A truly amazing Kyrgyzstan experience with Chyngyz Abekov

5.00My second day out in Kyrgyzstan was totally amazing booked directly with my guide Chyngyz Abekov via WhatsApp after my first through Viator. Both good but WhatsApp direct was quicker as email replies with Viator were not se easy to receive with my Uk phone. Chyngyz Abekov has excellent English with caring and intelligent conversation also adding great humour to make a fun experience. He is well informed about the country and historic sites giving me a great insight to life in Kyrgyzstan over the years as well as today. The Burana tower site is filled with ancient history and tells an important story of life through the ages as the country changed languages along the way. Buying an authentic Kyrgyzstan hat to remember the day seen wearing in the former USSR bus stop photo. Next we stop in lovely restaurant to share a wonderful authentic Kyrgyzstan dumplings and fresh salad meal to fuel up in preparation for the Konorchek Canyon climb which on a warm day even for a fit squash player was quite demanding to keep up with my fit guide, almost matching his pace although breathing heavily all the way to the top to see the most incredible canyon view. Standing near the edge is not for the faint hearted !!. There are several climbing points along the way which are not so easy for less capable visitors but with the help of Chyngyz Abekov everyone can manage to get to the top and expérience this amazing view. Coming back down was somewhat easier passing the time with intelligent conversation and humour making the day even more special. Finally resting up with the long drive to the massive Issyk Kul Lake which 182kl long 60 kl wide and 600m deep is the seaside resort of Kyrgyzstan with crystal clear water tempting a swim if it was a bit warmer ! Finally relaxing with the long drive home sharing great conversation and music and cultural stories of our different lives. Thank you my friend Chyngyz Abekov for a wonderful Kyrgyzstan experience. VERY HIGHLY recommended. Long may your wonderful Toyota continue it's incredible journey !! Mick Castleton UK

1.00Magic Tours cannot be trusted and I wouldn't recommend them at all. The vehicle they sent was an old dilapidated right hand drive (driving on the right side of the road) damaged vehicle! The seat belts couldn't be used while driving at over 100kmph, putting us at great risk. The company refused to take any responsibility for this below sub-standard service although charging the highest prices! The guide Chyngyz however was excellent and helped compensate for the horrible road trip with his pleasant, informative service. He is however a freelance guide and can be hired through other companies as well.

5.00Although English is not good, it's easy to communicate. There are three attractions. Local tower + canyon hike + sea view: 1 tower look at culture. Not much of a place. 2 hike too long, a little tired. 3 finally sea view is very beautiful. Overall recommended.

5.00Wonderful day. Great tour guide. Burana tower was superb experience, as was the lake. The hiking part was also wonderful, but it is a bit advanced when it comes to hiking, and this should be stated in the literature that it is 2 hours of hiking on rocks. Enjoyed the day so much.
