Take in the magnificent Arctic scenery of Northern Norway

Join us on a roundtrip tour around the picturesque island of Kvaløya (Whale Island) in a minibus. Take in the fresh, clean air and the breath-taking views of the mountains and fjords and capture the beauty through your camera lens.

Leave the city behind and head into the wilderness onto Norway’s fifth largest island. See how locals live and keep your eyes open for typical Arctic fauna including eagles, sea otters, seals, foxes, elk and reindeer.

Stop at local cafes and shops to see and buy authentic Arctic products including locally produced food.

Make sure to wrap up warm as we will make several photo stops to admire the views of the mountains and fjords.

Have lunch at Sommarøy, where you can see stunning white sandy beaches.

Take in the fresh air and enjoy breath-taking views of the mountains and fjords capturing the endless beauty through your camera lens. We will head into the wilderness on Norway’s fifth largest island so keep your eyes open for typical Arctic fauna including eagles, sea otters, seals, foxes, moose and reindeer. Make sure to dress in warm layers as we will have several photo stops to admire the views of the mountains and fjords. Towards the end of the tour we will have delightful lunch in the small village of Sommarøy. You will never forget the crystal-clear water and the white sandy beaches that make this a favorite destination for both locals and visitors. Included: hotel drop-off, transport in Mercedes Sprinter, professional driver and English-speaking expert guide, photo stops, digital photos, hot drinks and snacks, tasty lunch!

Well organized, with a 15-seater minibus, we had really nice driver and guide. The guide Eléna is very affable, speaks Spanish, Italian, English and French. He took us to see the most scenic corners on a tour of about 6 hours, with coffee break and lunch in a very nice restaurant, in a wonderful place.

Trip run out of season and therefore didn’t see anything. This trip would be excellent in the summer months but they should not be ripping off tourists in the winter.

Loved this tour because we got to see another area of Norway that was a little bit different from Tromsø. You make stops along the way to Sommarøy so the drive doesn’t feel too long. Elena was an amazing guide - very informative and thoughtful. She also took amazing pictures along the way!

The Sommarøy tour was an incredible experience! We enjoyed a lot! We saw beautiful fjords and the snow on the beach, amazing!! Elena was such a fantastic guide, so friendly and passionate about what she showed us:) She took us beautiful photos with her camera. We were a small and a cozy group and we had hot chocolate with cookies :) This tour is a must if you are in Tromsø! Thank you Elena, for making it unforgettable!

We can enjoy a fantastic day with Northern Norway Travel. The Arctic tour was wonderful and we couldn't have asked for a better guide. Unfortunately the weather was rainy all day and most of the destinations were too icy for walking but the landscapes were beautiful and the tour guide and driver made the up for it with their enthusiasm.

This tour was one of the highlights of our stay in Tromsø and has our highest recommendation. Kirstin our guide, and Terje our driver, were both exceptional and ensured our day was truly memorable. Kirstin is a professional photographer and she generously shared high resolution images from every stage of our tour, with breathtaking views of Sommarøy and Kvaløya. Truly unforgettable.

We really enjoyed this trip. Georgios was a really friendly and engaging guide and we enjoyed all the stop offs along the way where most of the time we were the only bus there. Lunch was decent. Veggie option provided.
