Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang)
Your friendly tour guide will meet you at your hotel in Beijing in the morning. You will firstly visit Tiananmen Square, the largest public square of this kind in the world. The visit here allows you to have a glimpse at the outside of Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, the Monument to the People's Heroes, the magnificent Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, the ancient Zhengyang Gate and Arrow Tower as well as the Tiananmen Tower which leads to the well-known Forbidden City.
Forbidden City-The Palace Museum
Then move on to the Imperial Palace, also known as the "Forbidden City", the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palaces group with 500 years history. The palace was built between 1406 and 1420, but was burnt down, rebuilt, sacked and renovated countless times, so most of the architecture you can see today dates from the 1700's and onwards.

5.00I appreciated this tour with Bruce more and more as the day went on. It feels extravagant having a private tour but as the day went on there was in increase in crowds, jostling, larger tour groups with the leader talking over a microphone, it was a noticeable relief not to be part of a herd. Whilst it sometimes was difficult to hear what was being said over the others' noise, being solo we could move to a quiet corner and continue. We could also move on and be agile to the space. I also think we wouldn't have covered the same number of attractions to the same depth if I'd have been part of a slower-moving tour group. We started at the Temple of Heaven, a gentle, peaceful start to the day. Moving on to Tianenmen Square and the Forbidden Palace I was grateful for Bruce's tip not to bring a bag - this avoided as much longer queue. During each of the attractions Bruce was sharing an overview of each place. It was wonderful not to have to worry about tickets, or navigating entry and route around each attraction. We then went for lunch in a local basement foodhall, it had western options but of course great to try a place where local workers would eat. On the way I was taken to pearl shop where there was an interesting introduction to freshwater pearls, how to tell a real from a fake before being encouraged to make a purchase. After I while I found some reasonably-enough priced earrings; once these had been bought Bruce reappeared and we had some much-welcomed food. The afternoon was spent at the Summer Palace. It was a glorious afternoon so meandering around, avoiding the crowds where we could because again just the two of us, was lovely before a journey back. It was a long day, for me as well as Bruce and the driver - due to finish at 4.30 but due to traffic arrived back 5.45 - but once again I really valued the individuality of a private tour, more comfortable transfers and being able to asked the questions I wanted to which again wouldn't be possible if part of a larger group. I would definitely recommend a private tour to make the best and most efficient use of time in the city and thank you to Bruce for being my guide

5.00We had a wonderful day in Beijing with our tour guide, Helen! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel so comfortable. Helen explained everything clearly, helped us order delicious local food, and even shared great recommendations for places to visit after the tour. Our driver was also excellent—safe, courteous, and made the day run smoothly. It truly felt like we were exploring the city with friends. Highly recommend Helen and the team for an unforgettable Beijing experience!

5.00Had a wonderful tour with Maggie today and the driver Mr Hu. Maggie is a great tour guide explaining everything in great detail and hustling to make sure you get the right spot to view everything in a bustling crowd. She also recommended the acrobatic show and booked tickets for me. I didn’t even know that this was a show offered here but I love acrobatics. Additionally we finished our main tour early so she helped us move our tickets to the earlier show and arranged for our driver to wait and take us back to the hotel after the show. This was very kind of them. Mr Hu promptly picked us up and had water ready for us everywhere we went. Additionally, we had a great lunch at a spot where I really enjoyed the fried eggplant and shrimps.

5.00You can visit these attractions on your own, but... you'll waste a lot of time dealing with trivial matters. If you want to have a clear head and just enjoy the trip, choose this tour! It's wonderful!!! Absolutely the best! If you're lucky, you might get to travel with Wendy (never call her Mendy :) :) ) and you'll have nothing but pleasure from experiencing the attractions. Wonderful experiences! I highly recommend it!

This morning we met Linda (Ling Ling), our tour guide, who took us on a fascinating full-day tour of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, and the Temple of Heaven. Linda was exceptionally friendly, professional, and efficient. She always made sure everything ran smoothly and checked if we wanted to add extra experiences, such as a tea tasting. Her knowledge of Beijing’s history and Chinese culture was impressive, and she explained everything clearly in excellent English, with plenty of interesting details. As it’s a full-day tour covering the main highlights of Beijing, you don’t get to explore each site in depth—but that was exactly what we wanted: a comprehensive introduction to the city and the country. Thank you, Linda, for an amazing day! We highly recommend her to anyone visiting Beijing.

5.00Had a great time exploring the major tourist attractions of Beijing with Wendy. She was savvy with finding the most optimal way to be able to manage time and made sure we were able to see everything inspite of lots of crowds everywhere. Everything was on time with a clean comfortable car driver and a great guide Wendy who made sure they were flexible with my plans. Would highly recommend.

5.00It was a full day of fun. We learned a lot about Chinese history, saw many beautiful structures, and got great photos. Our guide, Rita, was very informative and helpful. She definitely helped complete the experience. She did a great job.
