Tiananmen Square
Your friendly tour guide will meet you at your hotel in Beijing in the morning. You will firstly visit Tiananmen Square, the largest public square of this kind in the world. The visit here allows you to have a glimpse at the outside of Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, the Monument to the People's Heroes, the magnificent Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, the ancient Zhengyang Gate and Arrow Tower as well as the Tiananmen Tower which leads to the well-known Forbidden City.
The Palace Museum
Then move on to the Imperial Palace, also known as the "Forbidden City", the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palaces group with 500 years history. The palace was built between 1406 and 1420, but was burnt down, rebuilt, sacked and renovated countless times, so most of the architecture you can see today dates from the 1700's and onwards.

5.00Was a wonderful private tour with our tour guide Majjit who was funny and tentative, and very knowledgeable in the history and culture of the places we visited. Majjit was definitely a well seasoned guide who knew all the short cuts, processes and specific areas to take the best photos ! Majjit made it fun and efficient amidst the otherwise crowded and busy experience. After the tour, She even cared about our dinner plans and helped us find/book our restaurant for us. I will definitely ask for Majjit in my next tour ! Thank you Majjit for being so patient n fun with us !!

5.00With no command of the Mandarin language, I highly recommend a private tour with an english speaking tour guide. All we had to do was provide our tour date, passports and hotel name for pickup and drop off. They purchased the tickets and literally walked us through the whole day. What made this day extra special was our tour guide, Magnificent Maggie❣️ She was very friendly and knowledgeable. All my questions were answered from a local traditional, historical point of view. I learned so much! She knew the process to pass security checks, early access and entrances to avoid crowds. She was very considerate of our washroom needs, our level of fitness and took us to a delicious traditional Beijing restaurant❣️

4.00We recently joined a private tour of Beijing’s Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City with our guide Sally. It was an absolutely wonderful experience, and we are grateful for her thoughtful guidance throughout the day. Sally was knowledgeable, attentive, and made each site come alive with engaging stories and historical insights. She ensured we were comfortable at all times and went above and beyond to make the tour smooth and enjoyable.

5.00Lucy was an absolutely fantastic tour guide. She took my family and me on a private guided tour of the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, and Pearl Market, and her knowledge and passion for history brought each site to life. She didn’t just walk us through the landmarks, she explained the purpose behind the buildings and the cultural significance. She also made sure to get us to locations where we could take great photos, and made sure to get photos of our family together. One thing we especially appreciated was her flexibility and attentiveness. After we mentioned having a poor buffet experience the day before, she quickly pivoted our lunch plans and took us to enjoy delicious local dumplings instead, a much-appreciated change! She was also incredibly accommodating with our schedule. When we decided to skip Tiananmen Square due to the long queues, she fully supported our choice, ensuring the day stayed well-paced and enjoyable rather than rushed. She even offered to help us secure a reservation for the next day, which made us feel completely comfortable with the decision and showed how much she cared about our overall experience. The only small improvement I would suggest is continuing to use the audio guides beyond the Forbidden City. They made it much easier to hear Lucy in crowded areas, and it would have really enhanced our experience at the Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven as well, where it was sometimes difficult to catch everything she was saying. Overall, we had such an amazing experience with Lucy that we actually canceled our previously booked Great Wall tour just to rebook with her. I would highly recommend Lucy and this tour to experience some highlights of Beijing.

5.00If you’re lucky enough to get Lucy as your Beijing tour guide, just know, you’ve already won the trip. We spent the day exploring the Summer Palace, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and even squeezed in the Pearl Market, and somehow Lucy made each stop feel like the main event. She’s incredibly knowledgeable but explains everything in a way that actually sticks (no history lecture fatigue here). Every site came to life thanks to her storytelling. What really stood out was how thoughtful she was with pacing, she made sure we had plenty of time for photos, wandering, and asking questions without ever feeling rushed. It felt like the perfect balance of guided tour and personal exploration. The best part? Lunch. Our itinerary originally included a buffet, but after we mentioned we wanted something more authentic, Lucy pivoted on the fly and took us to a local Beijing restaurant, and WOW. Easily one of the best meals we’ve had on the trip. Total game-changer. Lucy is friendly, flexible, and genuinely cares about making your experience special. If you’re on the fence about booking a guide, do it, and then hope you get Lucy. 10/10 would follow Lucy through Beijing again.

5.00We had an outstanding one-day private tour in Beijing with our guide, Lucy, that included the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, and the Temple of Heaven. From the very start, Lucy took the time to understand what we were most interested in and tailored the day to make sure we experienced these iconic sites in a way that felt personal. Navigating the vast Forbidden City can be overwhelming, but she brought it to life with clear, engaging explanations in excellent English. At the Summer Palace, she balanced history with storytelling, making the grounds and architecture even more meaningful as we explored. The Temple of Heaven was another highlight — she helped us appreciate both its historical significance and the everyday life happening around it. Lucy was flexible throughout the day and adjusted the pace based on our energy and interests. We especially appreciated her honesty about what was truly worthwhile to focus on and what we could comfortably skip, which made the day feel efficient without feeling hurried. Beyond her knowledge, she had a wonderful personality — warm, quick to laugh, and easy to talk to. Lucy kept the day fun while remaining incredibly professional. She also introduced us to excellent local food, choosing a spot that was authentic and delicious. Most importantly, she genuinely looked out for us. Her thoughtful advice, practical tips, and sincere care made us feel completely at ease. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to experience Beijing’s highlights in a single day and highly recommend her to anyone visiting the city. 5.00We just did this tour yesterday and we were so fortunate to have Lucy as our guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and adjusted parts of our day to suit our 3 young children. Thank you Lucy for making this day incredible and helping create memories for our family. P.s hopefully she can make the trip to Australia one day like she hopes.
Perfect way to see Beijing’s major sites in a day

5.00My wife and I just finished this tour. It was perfect, and it was exactly what we were hoping for. We were lucky enough to have Nancy as our tour guide. She was amazing. She is clearly a very experienced tour guide, she enjoys what she does, is full of interesting information, and her English is fantastic. The entire experience was professional and the pace was personalized to us. Nancy and our driver picked us up at 8:30am from our hotel and we immediately went to Tiananmen Square and the Palace Museum. After we finished those, the driver picked us up and took us to the Summer Palace. From there we grabbed lunch at the former Olympic Village and then proceeded to the Temple of Heaven, after which they dropped us back at our hotel. We were out for about 8 hours. Wear comfortable shoes, you’ll be walking a lot (we covered about 5 miles). But it was perfect. The next time I’m in town, I hope we’re lucky enough to be able to get a tour with Nancy again.
