As is common in Srilanka there is a huge diversity of stunning birdlife including migratory species such as the flamingo. It is also one of the few places in the world where the severely endangered black necked stork can still be seen. The uniqueness of the park is the sheer diversity of the habitat: dense jungles suddenly give way to lagoons and open plain areas and the park has a simply beautiful Sea front. Huge, stark boulders dominate the horizon and the elegant, languorous leopard can often be seen basking a top the sun barked rock

Galle Dutch Fort
The strategic location of Galle along major sea routes made the city one of the most significant parts of the island, as it attracted merchants and vessels from around the world. By 1502, Galle fell to the hands of Portuguese invaders, commanded by Lourenço de Almeida. During their occupation of the land, they built a fort to hold their position over Galle. During the turn of the 17th century, by approximately 1640, the current occupiers surrender to the new invaders, the Dutch; in the form of the Dutch East India Company. The Galle Fort was then heavily fortified by the Dutch. In 1796, the British invaded Galle and seized control of the fort, but preserved the structure. It remained as their administrative capital until Sri Lanka gained independence in 1948.
Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project
one of srilanka’s most important breeding spots for the endangered sea turtles. The sandy beaches serve as sanctuary for several types of marine turtles including LOGGERHEADS and the LEATHERBACK turtle. The small turtle hatchery first opened in 1994, in an effort to promote responsible tourism and conservation. The hatchery buys turtle eggs off fisherman, in an attempt to discourage them from poaching and selling eggs. You will be educated on the importance of protecting turtle life, via the hatchery’s facilities that care for new born turtles until they are ready to be released back in to the ocean, an experience that you may even have the opportunity to do yourself first hand.

We travelled all over Sri Lanka with Saman, an unforgettable experience. We are travelers used to traveling independently, in Sri Lanka we decided to rely on Doddy and his agency. From Airport Welcoming, with garlands and bouquets of flowers to excellent Timeline of each day. Our driver and guide Saman was the one who made the difference, told us a lot about Sri Lanka with insights into Buddhism. We always felt comfortable with him, he managed to fix the mess that was created making the trip formidable. Thank you Saman you were precious!!! We recommend this agency to everyone if you want to visit Sri Lanka and we wish you to travel with Saman!

We are a family of four with two children (9 and 11 yrs old). Doddy organized our tour beforehand adjusting it to our needs and length of our stay. It was very helpful and took a lot of stress off not having to organize the trip ourselves. It turned out to be the best decision as we were guided through the best spots of the country. At our arrival at the airport, we met Saman who was our guide for the whole journey. Saman was an absolute super star! Not only he guided and drove us safely around the country, but he took real care of us all. He connected with the children and went above and beyond to make them happy! He advised the best places to see, the best timing. He understood what our preferences were and adjusted the journey to them. We made the most of our time in Sri Lanka with Saman at our side! We are all very grateful to both Doddy and Saman to make our trip to Sri Lanka so lovely and special! We made memories that will last a lifetime and we really hope to see Saman again one day 😊 We could not recommend Expeditions of Sri Lanka more! Bohoma istouti 💗

We took travel in SriLand for kid’s spring break. We visited Kandy, Hatton, Yala, Weligama, Galle, which gave us different experiences. Kandy represents Sri Lanka’s history. Sitting on the chair at the garden dining table in Hatton tea site bungalow , it feels as if time has flowed back to 18th-century England. In Yala wild coast hotel, we had most modern luxurious accommodation in a pristine, natural setting. During the 9 days trip, we stayed at 6 different hotels, including three Relais & Châteaux and one Aman. Overall the food and service were excellent, with options to explore local specialties as well as authentic Western cuisine. Another important aspect was having a reliable private guide and driver. In the hot weather, thanks to our chauffeur Doddy, his car provided a clean and cool environment, and he transported us safely to various destinations. He was also enthusiastic and helpful, offering valuable information and assistance throughout our journey.

My wife and I stayed 6 days in Srilanka and, thanks to expeditions of Srilanka, we visited the major attractions of this island. Our super guide Gamini accompanied us around from Sigiriya, to Dambulla, Kandy, Nurawa Eliya, Ella, Galle and Bentota. Thanks to the organization of Expeditions we didn't have to take care of anything, only to take pictures and enjoy the tour and relax in the hotels that Doddy booked for us, as well as the various entrance tickets to the various places. We were pleased to have relied on them. There was only one problem with the hotel reservation but Doddy solved it. Thanks for everything. And thanks again to Gamini for making us feel good. We recommend it.

My husband and I stayed in Sri Lanka for 6 days. When I booked the private tour we agreed on what we wanted to see based on Doddy's suggestions. Upon our arrival in Colombo, the guide Gaminì was waiting for us... and from that moment the guide never left us until the day of departure at Colombo airport. We had no worries because our driver thought of everything. Gaminì was exceptional and, after 1 day to get to know us better and understand what our wishes were for this holiday, he did his best to satisfy us! We visited the major sites that Sri Lanka is known for. It was a really interesting experience, absolutely worth doing! In just 6 days we visited the archaeological site of Polonnaruwa, the Pidurangala Rock and the Lion's Rock in Sigiriya, Dambulla Temple, the Manneriya safari, the safari village, the boat tour, the Tooth Temple, Ambuluwawa Tower, the tea factory, the royal gardens, the train from Nurawa Eliya to Ella, the Buduruwagala Temple, the Ravana waterfalls, the Galle Fort and the beautiful beach in Bentota. In short: an unforgettable experience. If I had to describe Sri Lanka in one word, I would say: "green".. I will never forget all the various shades of green there... I recommend visiting it with expeditions of Srilanka

Dodwell (Doddy) was amazing. From the moment he greeted us at the airport to the moment he dropped us off to leave, he ensured my sons and I were so well looked after. He is very informative about all aspects of the island and its people, extremely helpful suggesting and organising restaurants, always so courteous and sensitive to family dynamics on holiday and he's simply great company and a real pleasure to be around. Can't recommend enough! Especially for families.
