Kasbah of Algiers
You will be picked up at 9 am after you check out from City hotel , you can leave your stuff at the hotel concierge and then we will be headed to our first stop , the Kasbah part of the UNESCO since 1992 which it actually represents an outstanding example of a traditional human settlement representing a profoundly Mediterranean Muslim culture, synthesis of numerous traditions. The vestiges of the citadel, ancient mosques, Ottoman palaces, as well as a traditional urban structure associated with a strong sense of community testify to this culture and are the result of its interaction with the various layers of populations.
Basilique Notre Dame d'Afrique
Notre Dame d'Afrique (Our Lady of Africa) is a Roman Catholic basilica was inaugurated in 1872, after fourteen years of construction. It was founded by Charles Lavigerie. Its architect, Jean-Eugène Fromageau, who had been appointed the chief architect for ecclesiastical buildings in French Algeria in 1859, employed a Neo-Byzantine style Notre Dame d'Afrique is on the north side of Algiers, on a 124 m (407 ft) cliff overlooking the Bay of Algiers.

after our lunch break we will be visiting the martyrs memorial with a first stop to a panoramic city view Martyrs' Memorial is a concrete monument commemorating the Algerian war for independence. The monument was opened in 1982 on the 20th anniversary of Algeria's independence. We will also get to visit the Veteran s museum beneath the monument for more history

we usually end up our tour of Algiers by a walk in Hamma botanical garden to visit the two contrast between the French and English gardens

after you land back in Algiers airport , we will pick you up and we could either first have a good breakfast or we could also first go to Cherchell and have breakfast there and then visit this fishermen town with main plaza , antiques museum , mosque , walk by some roman ruins site and enjoy the vibrant market

we will arrive Tipaza by noon , so we will take you straight to the best resaurant for lunch , vegan and vegetarian options are also available upon request after lunch we will be walking towards the main gate of the Roman ruins site On the shores of the Mediterranean, Tipasa was an ancient Punic trading-post conquered by Rome and turned into a strategic base for the conquest of the kingdoms of Mauritania. It comprises a unique group of Phoenician, Roman, palaeochristian and Byzantine ruins alongside indigenous monuments such as the Kbor er Roumia, the great royal mausoleum of Mauretania.

After our visit in Tipaza roman ruins , we will be making our way to the Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania , which was recognized and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. will be dropping you back at your hotel afterwards It is a funerary monument located on the road between Cherchell and Algiers, in Tipaza Province, Algeria. The mausoleum is the tomb where the Berber King Juba II and The Queen Cleopatra Selene II, sovereigns of Numidia and Mauretania, were allegedly buried.

Roman Ruins Timgad
we will pick you up early morning to drop you off at the airport from where you will have a domestic flight to Constantine , once you land our local team will welcome you and take you to visit the Roman ruins of Timgad which is about 2 hours drive roughly away from Constantine Timgad lies on the northern slopes of the Aurès mountains and was created ex nihilo as a military colony by the Emperor Trajan in AD 100. With its square enclosure and orthogonal design based on the cardo and decumanus, the two perpendicular routes running through the city, it is an excellent example of Roman town planning. Once we finish our tour there we will drive back to Constantine , although its not inscribed within the UNESCO but still a mesmerizing city that you just cannot miss , you will enjoy a complimentary mini tour of the highlights of the city before we drop you off at your hotel

Roman Ruins of Djemila
day trip to visit djemila roman ruins which is about two hours drive from Constantine Djémila is an outstanding example of a type of architectural ensemble illustrating a significant stage in Roman history of North Africa, from the 2nd to the 6th centuries. In this instance, the classic formula of Roman urban planning has been adapted to the geophysical constraints of the site. The site comprises a very diversified typological and architectural repertoire with a defensive system and Arch of Triumph, public convenience and theatre buildings, facilities for crafts and commerce, including the market of the Cosinus brothers that constitutes remarkable evidence of economic prosperity of the city. on the way back to Constantine , you will still enjoy a complimentary mini tour of the highlights of the city before we drop you off at your hotel

Al Qal'a of Beni Hammad
Its going to be a long day , leaving constantine in the morning towards Beni hammad fort part of the UNESCO since 1980 The Qal'a of Beni Hammad bears exceptional testimony to the Hammadid civilization now disappeared. Founded in 1007 as a military stronghold, it was elevated to the level of metropolis. It has influenced the development of Arab architecture as well as other civilizing influences, including the Maghreb, Andalusia and Sicily. The archaeological and monumental vestiges of the Qal'a of Beni Hammad, among which are included the Great mosque and its minaret as well as a series of palaces, constitute the principal resources that testify to the wealth and influence of this Hammadid civilization. After our visit , we will continue the drive to Algiers where will drop you off at your hotel to rest

We had a 7-day tour of Algeria; Algers, Gardaia and Constantine with excursions. Would have loved to see more of this fascinating country. Wassim did a great itinerary for us (group of 15) and really made an effort to make us feel welcome.
