Nestled high in the mountains at 1,691 meters above sea level, Medeu is famous as the world’s highest outdoor speed skating rink. From your cabin, enjoy a stunning panoramic view of its vast frozen surface surrounded by pine-covered slopes and mountain streams. Your guide will share fascinating stories about its history — from Soviet-era competitions to modern-day winter festivals. Although we don’t stop at the rink, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to photograph this legendary site from above and appreciate the unique landscape that connects Medeu with the Shymbulak ski resort.

Green Bazaar: Dive into the heart of local culture at the Green Bazaar, the oldest and most famous marketplace in Almaty. This bustling bazaar is filled with stalls offering fresh fruits, dried nuts, honey, traditional Kazakh sweets, and local dairy products. Visitors can also find unique souvenirs. Don’t miss the opportunity to buy authentic Kazakh delicacies like kazy (horse sausage) and kurt (dried cheese balls).
