This tour takes you beyond Prague’s tourist center, often called “Disneyland” by locals, and into the vibrant, creative neighborhood of Holešovice, which was voted one of the top 10 coolest districts in Europe by The Guardian. Led by a local guide, you’ll explore hidden courtyards, street art murals, and repurposed industrial spaces, including former factories turned cultural hubs. Along the way, you’ll hear personal stories and discover Prague’s underground art scene, learning about the city’s history, activism, and contemporary life. The tour concludes at the legendary Cross Club, a unique techno and community space built entirely from recycled industrial parts. This isn’t sightseeing, it’s experiencing Prague through the eyes of a local.

Interesting Local Perspective, Poor Tour Experience

The biggest positive is that this tour takes you outside of Prague 1 and gives you a different perspective of the city. Unfortunately, our experience with the tour guide was very disappointing from the start. At the meeting point, she came across as rude and unwelcoming to the point that we almost left. She was also vaping directly into the group, which felt unprofessional. During the tour, she repeatedly spoke negatively about tourists, especially Americans, saying that people in Prague “hate” tourists because of the impact western buyers had on housing after communism ended. While the history and local perspective were interesting, the delivery felt hostile and uncomfortable. The tour itself mainly consisted of seeing a few murals and using public transportation. At the end, we were expected to take the public transport back on our own. Thankfully, we managed to get off at the correct stop. It was interesting to see a more local side of Prague, but I would not recommend squeezing this into a short trip. It works as a filler activity if you have extra time, but there are many better ways to spend your time in Prague.

Really interesting tour outside the main tourist area of Prague. Great knowledge by the guide on life in Prague currently when compared to recent history. Also, really interesting commentary on street art and culture generally. We were taken places we never would have found on our own.

Really enjoyed this tour of the “real” Prague yesterday. We went to places we’d never have gone to usually. I like the way we combined tram rides with walking too. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to be with for the duration of the tour. The whole group stayed for beer at the end of the tour which was the cherry on top I’d say. Normally people can’t get away fast enough! Totally recommend this tour as opposed to the slightly fake and overcrowded city centre tours.

A must do tour if you are in Prague!! Don’t miss it. The tour was great….we saw a lot of wall art/murals, graffitis, some hidden within plain sight, went to the art district, explored a couple of galleries and art cafés. Our guide knew a lot about Art & the artists and their work as well Czech history and it was great to get first hand perspective from a local and get art information from her. Suggestions - we really felt that the guide could have cut short some of the stops (like instead of two galleries m, one, so that we could have got more time to see & experience) & discussions we had (1 or 2 did not have any murals or art) that could have given us more time to explore the cafés & enjoy the vibe & their our guide could have give us the details. It really did feel that we were trying to fill up too many things, despite that I wouldn’t have missed this tour for anything and I still recommend it. Do it on the 2nd day of your trip so that you can then decide to explore the suggestions on your own. I hope to do this again whenever we return.

Informative and fascinating without the usual dullness of conventional guided tours. A clear and concise summary of post-war Czech history right up to current events, including the work of street artists. Lots of great photo opportunities along the way and some good laughs too! Highly recommended.
