Went to the blue light day. Only 2 major rides were open at any one. Multiple 'technical errors' on multiple rides at the same time. Everytime we got in a queue, there would be a delay announcement and the wait time would nearly double or the ride would just shut. We left by 11:30am as we the two rides that were open had ridiculous queues. A 4.5 hour round trip for essentially nothing Funnily enough, most of the rides suddenly opened at lunchtime. Seems very convenient that all technical issues were all resolved at the same time. I wonder was this done as a tactic as it was a blue light day and tickets were at a reduced price? Ive loved being an alton towers regular over the years but seems the park is being run into the ground. Wont be wasting my time on another visit

Absolutely love it here some really fantastic rides and as well a nice variety of attractions spread out through the park. On the few times I've been to the park we went on days where it wasn't very busy due to it being mid week and we where able to get on almost all the rides with very minimal queueing making it even better. Had food as well from a couple of there vendors and the few times I did it was pretty good. Overall id say it's a really fun day out.

some positives and negatives in my experience at AT, great parking fo my limted editon tesla right at the entry for the park. During the summer it is EXTREMLY BUSY during peak times. i had a nice time in the sunny sunshine, although in the queues a girl dressed in fully alton tower merch grabbed my husband nunya hair (bareing in mind he is bald so she pulled his wig off his head) trying to grt to the front of the que for the smiler. My husband was really embrassed and upset. she started laughing at him and got to the front of the queue. When gettin on the ride we sat in a chair which had puke on it! one of the workers there then grabbed the sick and chucked it at nunyas face i was so scared for him:( except from that trumatic experince we had a good day.

Every time we come here at least 2 of the big rides are closed, this time it was 4!. Of course this is not only annoying for this ride, but it increases the queue times which are already ridiculous. I only come because of my friend, but it's not an enjoyable day for anyone. I see more frustrated people than happy ones.

3rd time at pirate takeover and maybe the last. Felt like the park was overbooked in comparison to other years. Anyone that waits 60 mins for a round childs rollercoaster is insane and their children must have amazing patience. ( And I have waited for rides all over. But not for Octonauts again 🤣) Flambo jambos, food fine. Other guests can be rude in terms of waiting but get that everywhere. And VERY EXPENSIVE as they know they have you locked on site pretty much. Ma Garitas. Bar is fine but lack of seats to watch evening entertainment. Splash landings. The best part. And probably the reason for returning whilst we are waiting for the kids to get older to enjoy the whole park. A lovely family visit. But just way too busy. Duggees play park was ridiculous

We had the Feb half term stay in the splash landings hotel with access to the watermark and then next day access to alton towers . We absolutely loved it the staff were super friendly , walking around d making balloon characters and swords . The watermark was ideal for all ages my children 2 and 12 absolutely loved it and was in there for hours . There's also a snack and drink places in the corner and places for you to sit . I do agree that the buffet is overpriced as adults are £29.95 even though there is plenty of option I don't think you would get your monies worth as a family . We ended up ordering food in for the evening off just eat (plenty of options available)and the hotel and staff were happy enough for us to do this . Breakfast was the typical buffet plenty of options , egg, bacon, beans , sausage, fruit , pancakes , pastries and cereals. We went into alton towers the next day mainly for cbeebies land for our 2 year old as it was her birthday and it was amazing , she loved meeting the characters . However because it is out of season there were limited things for our 12 year old but loved the wickerman ride (we did know this at the time of booking aswell) and both enjoyed the treasure hunt . We thoroughly enjoyed and can't wait to go back for a other stay in the summer .

Having been before I kind of knew what to expect. Park is really busy, limited rides in operation, ridiculous high prices for food and drink Room is ok, although wasn't in brilliant shape really - air con controls weren't really working, tv had slipped down its bracket and part of it hidden behind the decorative border Waterpark good, but ridiculously busy with long queues on the slides What is really really disappointing is that having checked out yesterday morning, we have gotten home to find we left something behind. Trying to contact someone to ask if they have found it - there is no one to speak to, no way of speaking to reception, the live chat is entirely AI and we have filled in a form but had no response in over 24 hours....which means another lot of people will have been in the rooms and checked out. Why is it not possible to actually talk to anyone?! Do we really have to physically drive back to alton towers to do so?!?! Pretty appalling, particularly given the prices being charged, they can't surely afford to employ someone!! Seems to be no-one responding to these reviews either!

We visited Alton Towers for the Pirate Takeover during half term and had a very mixed experience overall. The pirate performers were absolutely fantastic – truly the highlight of the trip. The show was engaging, interactive, and they really made an effort with the children. You could see how much energy and enthusiasm they brought to it. A solid 10/10 – couldn’t fault them at all. The park itself was partly closed, but this was clearly advertised beforehand so it wasn’t a surprise and felt fair. It was great that Wicker Man was open – such a brilliant ride and a strong one to have running during the event. Splash Landings Waterpark was another highlight. There are slides and areas suitable for all ages, and we had a great time there. I’d give the waterpark 8/10. Unfortunately, the experience at Splash Landings Hotel was very disappointing. It felt like complete chaos at times. Queues were extremely long and stressful – we waited around 30 minutes just to get a drink at the bar. Service felt minimal, with guests largely left to sort things themselves, and it was nearly impossible to find a table or seat. The arcade only has one ticket machine, which resulted in a 40-minute queue just to count tickets – not ideal with tired children waiting. We chose not to use the buffet restaurant as it looked just as busy and overwhelming. The crowds around the food stations were off-putting, so we cancelled our reservation and ordered pizzas in the bar instead. They were average and overpriced. The rooms themselves were as expected – clean but looking a little tired. Tea and coffee supplies were well stocked, which was appreciated. Overall, Alton Towers is still a great theme park and we had some brilliant moments, especially with the Pirate Takeover and the waterpark. However, we wouldn’t rush to stay overnight at the resort again and would likely consider local accommodation instead next time

Pirate take over for a special birthday visit and unfortunately feel a bit ripped off. After coming for three years in a row for the same weekend I think it will be a no from us again. Overall we were disappointed for many reasons, it seemed to have been over sold at a high price. Queues in the park were way too long for short rides aimed at young children. The other disappointment was in cbeebies land the rides and attractions were nearly all not suitable for a 2.5 year old due to his height. It felt strange as that basically meant he couldn't do anything but shows for the day. The kitchens and restaurants didn't seem to be able to cope with the volume of customers and the evening entertainment felt a lot less than what we have experienced in previous years. Leaving us disappointed. Waterpark was amazing as always and well worth the visit. Actors were good, staff were all helpful. It feels like it wasn't well organised or thought through by senior leaders in Operations.

Pirate takeover with a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old. Stayed at splash landings. Everything about the trip was overcrowded. Couldnt view the entertainment in the hotel and the theme park because of crowds. Could not go on rides because of huge waiting times. Did not feel safe with little ones at all. Rollercoaster restaurant closed. Monorail not working so a half an hour walk just to get the the park. Would NOT recommend
