  We visited the park as 2 adults and 1 toddler so the majority of our time was spend in CBeebies Land. We visited mid week so were able to take advantage of the parent and toddler ticket priced at £29 and had an essential companion ticket for the additional adult (carer ticket). Obtaining the carer pass was a smooth process and involved showing proof of eligibility to the ticket sales each more. Have been visiting the park regularly since childhood (last 30 years) and there are definitely improvements and some draw backs. Maintenance - I was disappointed to find the Sky Ride closed for ‘maintenance’ given it is the start of the season. In years gone by all the park maintenance was generally done during the winter/closed months and ready to go for the grand opening at the start of the season. I strongly suspect it was closed due to the quietness of the park and the costs associated with running such a ride. In the Night Garden ride is a strong favourite for the youngest guests at CBeebies land and sadly it is in quite poor condition. The boats and features of the rides (characters) would benefit from a good clean up/jet wash. Moving parts weren’t working and generally the ride needs a good face lift. The speaker in our boat was also very crackly which made hearing the narration/experience of the ride hard to hear. Flooring in the disabled toilet peeling away from the walls… again, not what I’d expect at this point in the season. Pricing - as mentioned above we were extremely happy with the overall price of entry. They are selling a refillable drinks cup for £18 which gives you access to unlimited soft drinks throughout ur day. Please note there is no refill stations for these cups in CBeebies land so if you’re going to spend the majority of your time there the cups are not good value for money. We also found the juice itself had a high soda content so didn’t always taste right and very quickly became flat in the cup. The cups can be refilled on alternative days for a slightly cheaper price if £12. As always in these attractions the merchandise pricing was considerably high. A big push this year is obviously Bluey with the opening of the new Bluey Rollercoaster. Both the shop in CBeebies land and the CBeebies hotel were selling toys that can be purchased from Smyths/Amazon for much much cheaper (Ie a Bluey swimming bath toy… approx £15-17 in Smyths, £40 on site). In our opinion no need for such greed. We are big merchandise purchasers and was also disappointed to see the majority of ‘CBeebies’ merch that is exclusive to the park was the same as last year. We would definitely have spent more if there was new stuff I.e different blankets, kids t shirts etc. Despite what seems to have started off as a negative review there is no denying Alton Towers is a magical Place. The entrance to CBeebies land is every child’s dream… bright, colourful and inviting!! Our 2 year old really was mesmerised. The character shows/meet and greets running throughout the day are absolutely fantastic. Was nice to see somewhere as commercialised as Alton Towers happy to take photo’s on family phones rather than cashing in on professional photos. Only feedback on this area would be to consider changing the she’s every couple of years.x. It’s clear from speaking to other guests and reading reviews there was a large number of returning guests so something different would definitely be welcomed. On the whole our 3 day short break was fantastic. We made memories with our 2 year old that money literally couldn’t buy and for that we are extremely grateful. Did we enjoy it? YES!! Will we return?? YES!! Do we think Alton Towers need to pay some attention to detail? YES!! Overall. A fantastic short break was had by all!!🩷🥹

• Food prices terrible

  I have been a few times now . Rides are fab . Qué times are great in may . The only downside is the food take your own . I paid £8 for baguette and it was stale and not much filling . Otherwise would have given it 5 stars .

• Nature is nice - rides and areas are GRIM

  Most of the park looks pretty. Lots of nature. However, MY GOD. The rides are so uncomfortable/not even suitable for larger guests. The likes of Disneyland Paris & Efteling are far more accommodating. For the signature UK theme park there are whole areas that have ZERO attention to detail. David Walliams area is dilapidated and grim and Toyland Tours area is dead (RIP). Could be soooo much better. Feels like it is being so badly run!

• The Smiler 2026 may disapointment

  I went to alton towers in may, I enjoyed myself overall but the only reason i ever make the trip to alton towers is for The Smiler. The smiler is responsible for my love of rollercoasters and is the reason i am so passionate. I have to travel a distance to get to alton towers so if the smiler didnt exist or was not there, i would not ever visit. First i will say what i love, The Smiler is a beast of a ride, packing in 14 inversions and two brilliant airtime hills. the layout is fantastic and its a dream to ride. The storyline and theming for the smiler is the best ive ever seen and it has my favourite story and concept out of any media or ride. The smiler is running pretty good this year unlike last year, some restraints have been changed too which is really good, the trains themselves are looking much better and have clearly had a bit of love, Some of the repainting on the marmaliser looks nice too. Marmalisation as finally returned to the smiler which has been missed for a really long time now. Now i expect correction to come back soon. Also, the new merch is very nice. Now sadly there are a lot of bad things which left me feeling disappointed and like I was somewhat ripped off. starting with the worst things, The Smilers original audio is still missing, with dont look down returning and marmlisation returning to the smiler,I really thought i was gonna hear ''Time to get corrected'' in the smilers station when the gates opened, but nope. nothing, i was disapointed, still the same stupid distracting cuts in the correction block room which is a shame because the projections in there are cool and i love that room, still the same awkward cuts in the exit corridor and still no halfway corrected when the ride stops before the 2nd lifthill. I was extremely disapointed it wasnt added back yet becasue a friend of mine and even a staff member had said that alton towers is planning to add back all the original audios. I feel extremely disapointed and upset because my expectations to finally hear it all was crushed, i feel like ive missed out heavily because i never got to ride the smiler with the original audio. I feel like i have paid for something and not gotten the experience i had paid for and expected. Next biggest problem is the smilers track, its rusty, its yellow, its mossy, its horrible! This ride used to be a very dark grey and very shiny, it looks like its left to rot. it needs a a repaint. The marmalisaer effects dont even work anymore, the water jets and mist are just broken. as always. I listen to all the smiler soundtracks at home, so i know exactly the parts when it says anything about the correctional process in the indoor queue area. So anticipating hearing it only for it to cut out left me disappointed and feeling ripped off. speaking of soundtracks, the alton towers smiler soundtracks on spotify litreally HAVE a song called ''Get Corrected'' this was released recently so i know they are aware it exists. I love The Smiler, it is my favourite intrest i have, but this time i was left holding tears back in the car after traveling far with excitement and expectations for things that werent there still maybe i am just too easily upset, but i expected to finally experience THE SMILER, The one that has its audio and actually has its storyline it is supposed to have. I really had expected to hear time to get corrected, i was thinking about how excited i would be when i heard it when i was in the car but this did not happen. I will not be visiting again until next year. but if this gets fixed I will come back as fast as i can. I hope if Alton Towers reads this, they can tell me if they are going to add back the corrected audio. Im sure they have seen all the comments on social media about it anyway, but i hope they listen and do what guests want. If you see this, please respond and fix this.

• Wait times

  If you like queuing up for hours for a couple of minutes on a ride this is the place for you. The normal queue grinds to a halt so that the fast track purchasers have no wait whatsoever. Other theme parks have a much better system where priority or fast track customers can only have a certain percentage of the seats on a ride. Either this is not the case at AT or the staff ignore these rules. In addition it appears that AT will sell as many fast tracks as possible whereas other attractions limit the fast tracks so that it is enjoyable for everyone. It is clear that Merlin see this as a cash cow from the exorbitant food and drink prices, parking costs and the fast track prices. The rides that we went on were enjoyable but the wait times meant it was not an enjoyable day.

• Friendly staff, shorter queues, beautiful grounds

  We’ve been to Alton Towers about five times over the last decade with our children and sometimes it’s disappointing due to ride closures/wait times but today was one of our best trips yet. All the rides were running (except the cable cars which are being repaired and the two water rides, which was a bit disappointing as it was a nice sunny day in May and the website and app said they’d be open in May). This meant that we got to go on everything because none of the queues were too long. Mostly around half an hour, even for wicker man, Rita, thirteen. The longest queue we had was for Bluey at 50 mins but that didn’t bother my daughter as she enjoyed the play areas in the queue. Contrary to some other reviews, we found all of the ride operators to been efficient and friendly and overall had a really enjoyable day. The grounds are so green and beautiful, the gardens were in bloom with lovely flowers and it was nice weather for a picnic by the lake in front of the old house.

  

  

• Great family time

  We’ve just had an overnight break at Alton Towers Hotel and Alton Towers Theme Park. The gardens are absolutely STUNNING We’ve had a wonderful time from start to finish. One thing to note is that all food, drinks, coffee, icecream cakes is very pricey!!

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Wonderful but neglected

  Alton towers has always been a firm favourite. Can think of so many memories I have here. Always a stellar experience. Queue times on an off peak day were great, probably waited no longer than 20 mins for each ride. However, I did noticed this time (07/05/26) the park looking a bit neglected and dated especially tower street. Obviously doesn't effect overall day and experience but I remember it being this exciting, vibrant looking place and that aspect was lacking for me yesterday. Ticket price was more than reasonable, no complaints there. Staff were great and always happy to help if needed. Found the opening time and closing time a bit strange. Got into the park for just after 10am and it shuts at 4pm currently. Understandably, the school holidays aren't here yet so the park capacity is a lot lower. 6 hours just didn't feel like long enough. Overall, great experience. The points mentioned are just personal and are just my own thoughts. I'd visit Alton Towers over and over, its an enjoyable place that I love dearly.

  Food poisoning - had a kebab meat sandwich @£11 didn't eat most of it as it tasted off. Been in bed 2 days with the most awful food poisoning

• Very fun, long walks
