I already had many companies that I emailed. The plan of what to do there did not interest me but, only one from Burigi Chato Safaris did. The night plan with meals was nice. We slept in tents by the lake. We took our dinner while gazing at the beautiful stars of the lake. Other visitors did not know that they could be camping there. This is a beautiful place to go to and spend a night on the slopes of Kilimanjaro.

Tanzania is a beautiful country with over 170 tribes. My guide told me that during census in 2010 the government had to find wildlife meat so that they can be counted as they were collecting it. This tribe have not been swayed by the modernization of the world lifestyle and technology they only take what they need from nature no surplus or other things. Also, they do butter trade with the surrounding societies. This truly is something every traveler coming to Africa should experience.

After we went for a swim our lunch was saved at the deck of the restaurant the food was very delicious and heavy. I was recommended to visit Lake Eyasi by a friend who had been here before. There were a good number of friendly visitors that I as well met here. If you are a fan of open water swimming this is definitely a place that was created for you.

We came from Manyara to this place we were glad to see the lake that we were told di not have more than eight days since it was refilled with water. Hunting became easy because it during the time when animals are going to the forest near by to get to the water body. The people of this community do not store food but they also do not die of

The lake is extremely deep on the edges. Be careful when swimming here as the lake can be extremely dangerous especially when you expect to keep your feet down on the edges. There is urgent steepness when you don’t expect them to be there. I got a briefing so I was prepared for this. There are as well other activities that you do including camping, hiking and walk in the bushes as well as bed watching. I was happy when I went here.

The tribe is very primitive as how we read in history classes. It is amusing how they have been able to protect their culture for all this while. I was able to see the other tribe stalking charcoal for smithing the iron. They also had dry cow skin this tribe trades the iron arrow points and trade them with the Hadzabe. They as well sell souvenirs which we bought.

It is one of a kind experience in the basin of the lake. Tanzania has 182 tribes among them are the Hadzabe and Dagota the two tribes live near the lake and do butter trade they do not use money in their transactions and believe that the land provides them with food daily. They do not stock food. Every thing was arranged by Burigi Chato Safaris and getting here was one of the most incredible experiences I had in Tanzania. I was able to see and learn how fire is started from scratch.

We tried some of the activities here and including them was using the bow and arrows. The people of this tribe are friendly and can be open to share their culture. We were provided with an assistant guide that knew the language he said he stayed with the people of this tribe for a while. There is another tribe here in the basin and it named Dagota they are iron smiths who take scrapers and turn them to tools. They at points trade some their products with the Hadzabe.

All in All this was an unforgettable experience. I spent a whole day with a small tribe called Hadzabe living around lake Eyasi. This tribe retained their way of life for centuries. They still hunt and gather. This is a culture that we thought was dead. It is unexpected to find this in our world of today.
