Explore the most western tip of the island as you learn about the maritime and island history of Bermuda as you venture forth through the grounds of the Marine Museum the fortress keep of the former Royal Naval Dockyard. You will also discover the commissioner house that overlooks the museum and towers, the Atlantic ocean where you would be able to understand details about the transatlantic slave trade route, its effect on history and Bermuda's very unique place in the African Diaspora as you retrace the lives of slaves and understand the effect they had on Bermuda history. You will be amazed at the recovered artifacts from shipwrecks, excavations, and private collections as you also delve into to the important part the Portuguese and the American Indians cultures.Next we will visit the Dockyard Company where we can experience samples of tasty colorful rum cakes and visit a beautiful hot glass studio. Last you will hop on a Segway to continue to tour the west end of Bermuda.
