Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, has more than one hundred kilometers of grachten (canals), about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges. The three main canals (Herengracht, Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht), dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, form concentric belts around the city, known as the Grachtengordel. Alongside the main canals are 1550 monumental buildings.[1] The 17th-century canal ring area, including the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht and Jordaan, were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010,[2] contributing to Amsterdam's fame as the "Venice of the North"

5.00Excellent trip around Amsterdam on the canals. The guide was knowledgeable and explained the history, the buildings and sites. He answered questions and was friendly and polite. A very calm and relaxing way to tour the city.

5.00We loved the canal ride. Our skipper was Lon and he was fantastic. Safe and skilled ride. Lots of history and sites explained. Beautiful scenery and buildings. Lon answered many questions and provided a very enjoyable experience. Unlimited drinks and snacks— various wines, beers, soda, apple juice, cookies, Gouda cheese, etc. Lon was the best.

5.00The trip was perfect. We had just arrived in Amsterdam and this was a relaxing way to introduce us to the city. The wine and cheese were awesome... there were other snacks as well including crackers, stroopwaffles, licorice, etc. Also plenty of other drinks... soft drinks, beer and water. Our guide, Jessie, was very knowledgeable regarding the history if Amsterdam. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing way to introduce them to this beautiful city!!!
