Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, has more than one hundred kilometers of grachten (canals), about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges. The three main canals (Herengracht, Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht), dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, form concentric belts around the city, known as the Grachtengordel. Alongside the main canals are 1550 monumental buildings.[1] The 17th-century canal ring area, including the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht and Jordaan, were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010,[2] contributing to Amsterdam's fame as the "Venice of the North"

4.00Fun tour! We got turned around on the tram and missed our first time- but the team let us take a later tour. Arnold was awesome! The group we joined was fun! The spirits were flowing! My only feedback, it was hard to hear in the back, especially after the crowd in the front had a few beers. If they could use mics or have some drive and assign a guide to sit in the middle to speak would be better.

3.00This was a fine tour but I went in winter and it was very cold despite being a closed boat (the back actually didn’t have closed windows, just a plastic zipped cover). I was in the mid-back and it was quite difficult to hear the guide due to people talking around me. It would have been ideal to have a driver and then different person sitting in the middle part and giving the tour history and information. You do get unlimited beer and wine, so that probably makes the tour worth the cost for some folks. I was hoping more for a very detailed and memorable talking tour, and this was fine but not amazing. The guide was lovely though!
