This was a very casual cruise around the canals of Amsterdam with some narration, but mostly interactive conversation with boat captain and other small group passengers. All on this boat were from the United States. We were of varying ages, about 30 up to 70. Beverage options were good and snacks included the Dutch butter ballen. My only time eating such an item. It's basically, meat and gravy stew they freeze, scoop into a ball, roll into breadcrumbs and then fry it up. The gravy is hot when it comes out so care is needed. They were good, but not my particular desire to eat. Our captain, Mare, kept the information and conversation flowing. She handled the boat very well. The time spent on boat was as advertised, we made one stop for the Butter Ballen and restrooms. So if you know you may need it, take that one opportunity, since the no restroom on boat. My wife and I enjoyed the conversations with others on the boat. Of course, we were all visitors to Amsterdam, it was good to compare notes on our travels and experiences. The boat itself had plenty of comfortable seating around the perimeter. With some areas covered and others not. It did not rain, but we were assured if it did, there were additional covers that could be attached. The boat was big and stable enough so that people could move about to get refreshments, but by no means was the boat large. Mare keeps her boat very clean and well maintained. The Captain planned a course around Keizergracht and Prinzengracht then across the Amstel to some of the "newer" canals. Past the Nemo and Zoo then into the old harbor front and Central train station. This covered almost the entirety of the city center area of Amsterdam. We passed the Jordaan, Anne Frank and WesterKirke, Mint tower and numerous house boats. For comparison, my wife and I hopped on a shorter canal cruise earlier in our stay; this was with about 30 others. Snapped a few pictures, heard a couple tall tales and embraced the tourist label. Decent but rushed. If you have the time, go for this 2 hour drinks and snack tour. You can get your pictures, actually hear good information, ask questions and relax. At $70 ea. it was pretty good value.

We could not have asked for a better experience. Captain Storm was an absolute delight. He was very personable and made the night cruise very memorable. My 17 year old son even loved the tour. Captain Storm made the tour!!

The guide was very good with lots of information about the city and the canals. The only problem was that it was raining fairly strongly which obscured our views of many of the sites.
