Banteay Kdei

Banteay Kdei is also known as 'the citadel of monk's cells'. It is partially overgrown with towering, sinous trees. The silk cotton tree roots weaving their way through the stones of the ruined walls is a famously beautiful sight. Then we make our way to the central temple of Bayon, with its 54 towers decorated with more than 200 enigmatic smiling faces.

We had an unforgettable experience on the Angkor Sunrise Tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing tour guide, Vin Sary. From the moment we started the tour in the early hours of the morning, Vin was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. Watching the sunrise over Angkor Wat was absolutely magical, and Vin made it even more special by explaining the history, symbolism, and architectural details in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. He has a deep knowledge of Cambodian history, culture, and the significance of each temple we visited – from Angkor Wat to Bayon and Ta Prohm. You could tell he truly loves sharing his culture and heritage with others. What really stood out was how patient and accommodating he was throughout the tour. He made sure everyone was comfortable, answered all our questions, and even helped us get the best photo spots without the crowds. His passion and storytelling brought the ancient temples to life. If you’re visiting Angkor, I highly recommend booking a tour with Vin Sary. He doesn’t just show you the sights – he helps you understand and feel the history behind them. Truly a 5 star experience

This was a great tour and so worth the early wake up. While the Angkor Wat part at the beginning is obviously very touristy it’s not terribly crowded due to the massive size of the complex. There’s still plenty of room to get pictures etc. Our guide Sary was not only informative and kind but also a great photographer and got us some of the best photos of our trip to Cambodia. Beyond this first part getting up early was great because we were able to get to some of the popular secondary temples early enough that they were nearly empty and had them all to ourselves which was amazing. This tour also did a very good job of balancing structured touring with free time to roam and explore the temples. In the temples with a lot of history and intricate details Sary spent time walking through with us while in others he gave a short speech outside and then let us explore inside on our own. I thought this was really well done. Overall this is definitely a worthwhile experience and the price tag is more than justified.
