  Expect the unexpected. Wear something you don’t mind getting a little sea salty in. And be aware… high probability of catching crabs! But most of all relax and have fun!!

  Good time, tour guide guy is cool. Easy going and knowledgeable. My 10 year old son wants to do it again when we come back next year. If you have a little one who enjoys checking out creatures on the beach or anywhere really, they will love this and you will too.

  

  

• Unsafe Conditions and No Visibility on LED Kayak Tour

  We recently did a guided LED night kayaking tour and unfortunately had a very concerning experience. Our guide, Dan, was knowledgeable and personable, but the overall decision-making was poor. A storm system had just come through around 8pm, and conditions were already windy when we launched. We asked if it was okay to go out, and the trip proceeded. The biggest disappointment right away was visibility. The entire point of an LED kayak tour is being able to see the ocean floor and marine life beneath you. Due to the choppy water and poor conditions, we could not see the bottom at all, which made the core experience essentially nonexistent. We didn’t see any wildlife, and it felt like we were being moved around trying to find something—including a detour down a canal to look for manatees that weren’t there. The return trip is where things became unsafe. We were paddling directly into strong wind and rough water in the dark. My wife and I are fairly experienced kayakers, and we were struggling significantly. We took on several inches of water and had to stop to dump it out before continuing. We became separated from the group while Dan stayed back with others, and we were essentially fighting our way back on our own. During this time: One kayak flipped Several people had to get out at a dock The group became spread out and disorganized Out of 8 kayaks, only a few made it back initially. We were soaked and left without knowing how the rest of the group fared. This situation felt unsafe and avoidable. The trip should have been canceled due to conditions, or at the very least turned around early. It’s also disappointing that we’ve received no follow-up the next day—no check-in, no apology, and no offer for a refund or reschedule. Dan seemed like a good person and had useful knowledge, but this came down to poor judgment under conditions that were not appropriate for this type of tour.

  Water was supper ruff, guide did his best 1 got sent to the ER water was that ruff, company does not work around the weather at all

  Edward and Matt were fantastic! We went with two smaller children and they were great at pointing out the wildlife at night. It was very safe and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend!
