Annapurna Base Camp Short Trekking is a perfect way to be close to the Himalayan Mountains in less than the duration of time within a week, an ideal walk for travelers with limited time in Nepal but with dreams to reach the base of the world's highest mountains.
Short Annapurna Base Camp Trekking takes you to its scenic country walking from low warm farm areas to reach cooler alpine hills with constant views of high Annapurna Peaks in the harmony of local villages enriched with timeless culture and age-old custom of great interest.
The walk leads into a beautiful country enclosed by a lovely green forest of tall rhododendron and pine trees with an overnight stop in local villages lodge with the opportunity to soak into local traditional farm life.
The journey continues into the deep gorge of Modi River to reach a vast open plateau at Annapurna Sanctuary encircled by a series of high peaks of the Annapurna Himalaya range.

After a pleasant overnight stop at Pokhara facing views of the Annapurna Himalaya range of mountains with Machhapuchare peaks 'Fish Tail', have a hearty breakfast in the hotel then drive beyond Pokhara to commence our first day walks. Journey with grand views of Annapurna heading past farm villages and towns and then reaching Bhirethati, one of the most charming villages around Annapurna. From here, the walk starts following Modi River for a short walk around low and warmer farm areas and then on stone steps uphill to reach Gurung village Ghandruk. At Ghandruk overnight in a nice comfortable lodge with a view of Annapurna peaks with time to visit this nice Gurung village, which is also a gateway to many trekking and adventure around Annapurna areas.
Trek to Chomrong 2,170m/7120ft - 06 hrs, walking distance: 9km / 5.5miles

From Ghandruk morning walk up at the village top and then on gradual path for short-while soon our route picks to a climb to reach at Kimrong Danda (ridge) with some Tea-House and Lodge. Here with short break downhill into cool forested trails to reach the valley floor of Kimrong River with its nice farm village located in this peaceful valley, from here climbs starts for an hour or more to reach a hill top. After the climb on gradual winding path paved with fine stone work to reach above Chomrong village and then a short descend to reach our overnight place within nice and large village of Chomrong. A large Gurung village similar to Ghandruk which is the last permanent human settlement on route to Annapurna base camp within sanctuary. Included standard accommodation and meals

After Chomrong on downhill to cross a bridge over Chomrong river with uphill to Sinuwa danda (ridge) with couple of Tea-House and shops, where walk leads into deep forested areas on winding ups and then descend into dense woodland with bamboo grooves to a place called also as Bamboo. A small settlement to cater the needs of the trekkers with many good lodges located in a river gorge surrounded by forest of rhododendron-pines and bamboo. From the Bamboo place walk is gradual into woods with easy ups to reach at Dovan for overnight stops in a small remote and isolated place with few lodges for travelers.

Slowly our adventure leads closer to our aim and highlight as walk leads into winding ups into forest past a lonely place called Himalaya Hotel, located next to large overhanging cave Hinko which is directly beneath Annapurna South and Huin-Chuli peaks. From Himalaya Hotel downhill near Modi River then with short climb to reach at Deurali where tall tree lines stops for short alpine bushes, walk carries on uphill following Modi river right up to our overnight stop at Machhapuchare base camp located at the bottom of majestic North Face of Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’.

Annapurna Base Camp
An easy and short day morning walk to Annapurna base camp, from Machhapuchare where Annapurna Sanctuary starts right up base camp, walk leads to short ups to reach a level ground on a huge field or a plateau within the Sanctuary enclosed by an array of peak and soon walk leads to a welcome sign-post of Annapurna Base Camp. Reach our final destination and highest spot at above 4,130 m high situated beneath towering Mt. Annapurna and the range of other peaks of Vara-Shikar, Gangapurna with Annapurna South. Annapurna Base Camp is the only base camp in the whole Himalaya region with the facility of a nice and cozy lodge including a nice food menu and rooms facing amazing views of Annapurna peaks.

Enjoying lovely and pleasant scenic times at Annapurna base camp a long walk of nearly six hours leads you downhill with short ups to reach Bamboo and back into tall tree lines and lush vegetation, after being on arctic zone climate at Annapurna base camp and sanctuary.

Return journey back to Chomrong with ups and downhill trail, from Chomrong hill top our route diverts to another fresh new trail to reach at nice hill village at Jhinu located on a ridge with grand scenery of rolling hills and mountains. Jhinu provides refreshing natural hot-spring for interested people which is a mere distance downhill of half hour to the hot spring with two nice warm pools close to raging Modi-River.

Our guide and porter were both amazing—very caring, attentive, and always looking out for us. They helped take lots of photos and provided great emotional support throughout the journey, which made our ABC experience end perfectly. 5.002026/4/4 - 2026/4/8 The first time we came to Nepal for an ABC walk, we chose a local company: Trekking planner, who had a very good experience, shared a lot of local history, curiosities along the way, and even took us to meditate on a certain morning, so that this trip in addition to walking and beautiful views, there are many more people's feelings. The only regret is not staying one night at ABC and the white wall. Unfortunately, the next challenge EBC will choose this operator again! 5.00I had an amazing experience doing the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Nepal Trekking Planner and can wholeheartedly recommend them! From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized and stress-free. Dipak was incredibly responsive and helpful during the planning phase, answering all our questions and making sure we felt prepared before arriving in Nepal. During the trek itself, our guide Meelan and porter hasta were outstanding, knowledgeable, friendly, and always attentive to our safety and well-being. We felt supported every step of the way, whether it was adjusting the pace, giving insights about the mountains and local culture, or helping us through more challenging sections. 5.00My friend, Daniel and I, booked the ABC trip before coming to Nepal and we could not be any happier. We had a blast on our trek. The scenery was amazing and the guide and the porter were very competent. Our guide was Meelan and he was the actual best. We had tons of fun playing cards in the evening and joking around. He explained a lot about Nepalese culture and the mountains as well, so we could learn a lot. Our porter, Hasta, was a very strong guy. He didn’t complain once and was always very helpful. All in all, a very very solid and sick experience!!

5.00This is my second visit to Nepal, unlike the first, in 10 years with two children together, I was fortunate to find Trekking Planner, with professional and attentive guides Binod, and Santosh, and Dilip. Guidance Binod is very careful and enthusiastic, and often shows a side of humor, often take care of the children behind, help the children to support, play the children happy, and also give children confidence. The child stepped into the mud, he also carefully helped clean up. Always pay attention to our condition, whether walking or eating. Sandosh, Dilip service is also good, always support our situation. 5.00Our 8 day trek to and from ABC was a once in a lifetime experience. Not only because of the beautiful scenery, but also because of our lovely guide and porters that allowed us to get the most out of the trip. Our guide, Dibash, was extremely considerate and kind and made an effort everyday to check up on us and even his team of porters. He made us feel safe and well looked after with frequent health checks and adjusting his pace to our needs. Our porters, Bimal, Pradip and Pasang were very selfless and also kind. They provided laughs, reassurance and made sure to never leaving anyone behind. As well as carrying our bags alongside us the whole way and making efforts to check up on us even though they were carrying the most. I highly recommend hiking the ABC track with Trekking Planner, especially with Dibash, Bimal, Pradip and Pasang, it is truely one of the most incredible experiences in the world.

5.00Dibash was an amazing tour guide and allowed us to have the best time on our 8-day ABC trek. He was entertaining, considerate, knowledgable and caring. He ensured we were safe (consistently checking on our health), and that we enjoyed every moment. Our porters, Bimal, Pradeep and Pasang were brilliant crew members too. They were always making us laugh, checking on us and made the extra effort to walk beside us with our bags rather than run ahead. The trek itself was wonderful too, well thought out and beautiful views. This tour also worked for all ages in our group 15-50. Overall, this trekking experience was amazing, and our guide and porters helped make this possible. Thank you Nepal Trekking Planner!

5.00Nepal Trekking Planner made the whole process simple. They were very responsive and clear in communications from the outset and made adjustments to the standard plan as I requested to include extra nights and extra side tours at start and finish of the Annapurna trekking days.. The ultimate part of our entire trip to Nepal was trekking to ABC. Our guide, Dibash was absolutely tremendous; he anticipated our every need, adjusted pace to our capability and health without need to ask, and really went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience. He cares about his team of porters as well, and Pirdip, Bimal and Prasang were equally attentive and just brilliant fun to trek with. The trek itself was only moderately difficult for fit people. Accommodation was always in good quality tea houses, but be prepared, as they are basic as you might expect. I think this adds to the charm of the experience. Food was always awesome and plentiful. We were a little paranoid about filtering our water, and Dibash happily helped with this as well. His knowledge and advice was very helpful as well. ABC is truly spectacular, you won't regret the visit! I'll trek with this company again, and will definitely ask for Dibash as my guide. 10/10.
