This tour, by Due South Travels, is a 2+ hour guided walking tour of Antigua, one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. Our local guide will give you tons of great information, including the history of the city and its architecture, the geography, culture, and religion of historical and modern day Guatemala.
During the tour we will visit and discuss Antigua's significant landmarks. We will talk about the volcanoes and earthquakes Guatemala has experienced, the Mayan ethnic groups, the Spanish invasion, and modern day life here.
If you would like to visit the jade museums or learn more about places to eat and drink, have a coffee, etc, please ask your guide!

This Due South Travels tour will walk a leisurely route from Iglesia de la Merced, down 5a Avenida, through Central Park. Then we will visit the cathedral ruins and head past Tanque Union Park, and end at Iglesia de San Francisco.

5.00Luis was probably the best tour guide I have ever had: he was extremely knowledgable and shared lot of interesting information, but he also made it fun and accessible for everyone. He taught us some Mayan words that we still remember, and did a couple of fun quizzes along the way. This was exactly what we were looking for in a tour - not too long, not too serious, but we learned a lot about Antigua. I was impressed that he knew the answer to just about every question we threw at him, but he was also honest when he (once) didn't know the answer. We also liked the sites he chose to focus on and we had the opportunity to enter a few places to see inside. Thank you so much!

Nice mix of buildings and culture

5.00I really enjoyed this tour because Cristina provided a nice mix of discussing several of the important buildings but she also spent considerable time talking about the culture and history of Antigua and provided lots of interesting facts. There was a short 15 minute tour of a shop that sold Jade jewelry given by one of the sales people there.

5.00We did this on our first day and was definitely the right choice. Our guide Guillermo was amazing and showed us around the city, while also giving us plenty of recommendations to stop and visit! He answered all of our questions and we had a blast with him. Definitely a highlight of the trip, would recommend to anyone going and interested.

5.00Christina was very personable. Rather than march quickly through many locations, we enjoyed learning many historic and cultural details. Her English is excellent but she also has been a Spanish teacher so we learned a little that way also.

5.00Fantastic tour! Not too much or too long, good pace, and Carlos, our tour guide was awesome! I have been to Antigua before, but it was the first time for my friend. We both agreed that it was great and I learned a lot that about Antigua that I did not know from previous visit. I highly recommend their Antigua walking tour!
