  We had a wonderful time on this night hike! Incredibly knowledgeable guide took us through the Anura reserve. He found so many frogs and other animals and was able to tell us about the biodiversity of the area. Our two middle schoolers were with us and they had a great time helping to find animals. A great adventure. The operator was also super flexible and lovely to work with.

  A great night tour made. Have discovered a lot of animals (frogs, snakes, scorpion, caiman, spiders). The guide really tried very hard to show us everything and explained everything very well. We recommend the tour without restriction

  Alberto is a man with a vision. A man with a passion for the conservation of any living creature, who shares it with visitors. We enjoyed an awesome night walk with him and had the opportunity to see a large number of spices and get to know many things about wildlife in Costa Rica. It is definitely an experience that should not be missed. We wish Alberto all the best with his amazing project.

  Pana took us. We were the only two in his group. He was a excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable with insects, birds, plants, animals. We seen a sleeping porcupine in a tree. A caiman. Various toads and frogs. And Alberto was very friendly and knowledgeable too. And passionate about nature conservation. Very highly recommended on your trip.

  Wow! This tour is certainly not to miss. Alberto was informative and has spent years creating this natural environment that attracts plants and animal species to this easy walking park, complete with a pond and beautiful waterfall. Alberto is a polite man that took good care of us and speaks perfect English. He is very responsive on WhatsApp too. We were so impressed that we will also take the night walk to see the animals, we hope.

  My husband and I just had an amazing extended tour of Anura with wildlife biologist, Alberto. He was an excellent teacher on biological systems and diversity. We saw frogs, caiman, birds and fish. Alberto explained how he has been conserving the land, adding plants and animals to the property returning it to a more balanced ecosystem. This tour was the highlight of our trip.   We came as a couple for a tour with Alberto. We wanted to learn more about insects and more specifically pollinators. I myself am very new to the world of bugs and insects! Alberto was engaging, extraordinarily knowledgeable and made concepts easy to understand. His knowledge went (far) beyond identification and could discuss the many different species in great depth which was fabulous. He kept the tour at the perfect pace and also passionately talked about other wildlife we came across. I also loved the fact he has re-wilded a lot of the local area to great success! Good luck to you and to anyone reading this - visit the site for a fantastic guided nature/pollinators/animal walk!

• Exciting wildlife regeneration project

  We visited Anura Eco-tour last year for a night walk around Anura Park and met Alberto and learned about this wonderful wildlife restoration project. Our minds were blown by what Alberto showed us, we enjoyed it all so much we also did a fantastic guided walk with him in the nearby rainforest. What is so fascinating about this project is being able to witness the extraordinarily fast regeneration of the jungle. Alberto is so knowledgable, is doing incredible work with local communities demonstrating how quickly depleted farm land can be restored to forest and generate income through tourism. Experiencing the speedy recovery of the forest filled me with hope. An absolute joy to visit, we will certainly be back. If you're in La Fortuna, or anywhere nearby this is a must-see - and unmissable if you are interested in wildlife regeneration.

  What a wonderful place! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and agree that it was a definite highlight of the trip! We booked a two-hour tour visit and were guided by Alberto, a kind gentleman from Spain who's love and passion for the park and its inhabitants was obvious. Our two children (12 and 10) were delighted that they were able to spot a seemingly endless array of life, including poison dart frogs, millipedes, numerous spiders, hummingbirds, and more. Alberto led us through at a comfortable pace, pointing out various plants and animals along the way, and the tour never felt rushed or "canned". Every time my son would stop to point something out, we would take the time to explore and learn about what was discovered, and we really felt like we were a part of the tour instead of just passengers being ushered through the park. The park was easy to access by car from La Fortuna and Alberto provided flashlights for us to use on the trail. At two hours, the duration was just the right length to keep our two kids from burning out along the way. We visited Sarapiqui, La Fortuna, Monte Verde, and Playa Herradura during our trip and did multiple tours at each. Anura really stood out amongst them all. I'd highly recommend stopping and giving this one a chance, especially for those with kids or other family members who want to participate in the discovery. Many thanks, Alberto!
