  What a great way to experience the iconic (and little-known) gems of Anuradhapura! Thanks Saranga for taking me on as your group of 1! Saranga is well-spoken and his charm and humor make this an A+ tour. Besides learning a great deal about Buddhism, local culture and customs - I also enjoyed a delicious meal at a traditional Sri Lanka Food Court run by local women. (You will not find this in any tourist guide!) Last but not least, Saranga helped me with some train arrangements and even took me to the Railway Station to see the actual schedule! He's a kind and compassionate soul. Don't hesitate to book this Heritage Bike Tour with Saranga!

  Had a great tour! Fine guide who tells all kinds of things about the faith and customs that go with it. The guide adjusts to the cycling pace you indicate and always asks nicely if it is still going because of the heat. Also delicious eaten at a local tent!

  It was a super fun morning with Saranga. He knew how to tell a lot with passion and enthusiasm. Highly recommended if you are in Anuradhapura.

  We did the afternoon tour with Saranga today and are so glad we didn't listen to all the travel blogs who say that you shouldn't cycle and skip the old city. We had an amazing time with Saranga, his English is perfect, he knows so much about the history of Anuradhapura and can explain really well what Buddhism means to the people of Sri Lanka! We really felt like we understood Anuradhapura and it's people so much better after 4,5 hours with Saranga! He's such a kind soul and also really cares about his community, we had a break for snacks at a little stall on the side of the road, a place I would normally never stop myself but we had the most delicious snacks and Saranga told us he'd rather share his income with others so if he can bring a small stall owner some businesses, that's what he will do. He's also funny and relaxed, takes it easy on the bike, shows you the quiet/hidden spots and wants you to have the best time. We ended our tour at the big white stupa during the evening which was just magical! If you want a true local experience, learn about the history of Anuradhapura and Buddhism and support a small tour operator who really wants the best for not only himself but the people around him..book Saranga! Don't listen to the travel blogs who say it's too hot to bike, it's always warm in Anuradhapura but with the bike you'll get a nice breeze and feel very proud of yourself afterwards! Ps.   Saranga is a very gentle and well informed guide who can tell a lot about all the interesting temples in Anaradhapura, and Buddhism. He will take you to places where you would otherwise not freely take a look. The tour is not strictly along the highlights but also through the surroundings and rice fields. He stopped at a local eatery where we were suprised by tasteful local dishes. He even extended the tour a bit because we had to wait for the pouring rain to stop. I can absolutely recommend this tour and guide! 👌

  We’ve been here in Sri Lanka for 2 months, and this has to be one of my favorite experiences so far. Visiting these sites with Saranga really helped deepen our understanding of the places, and make the whole experience a lot more meaningful. His knowledge of Buddhism is deep, and it was so nice discussing Buddhist principles and philosophy with him. It is clear he lives these principles authentically and has a good heart! Also- I was unsure about going on bikes in the heat, but I’m glad we chose to. You get a bit of a breeze while riding, and it was much more peaceful than it would have been in a tuk tuk. Cannot recommend this tour enough. Thank you, Saranga! 🙏

  Saranga is a funny and friendly guide that shared a lot of history about the site as well as the culture of the country. I really appreciate him accepted my booking as I am a solo traveller which he could have chosen to take a group instead. Overall, I enjoyed the tour so much!

  This was definitely a highlight of my trip in Sri Lanka! Loved the history and Stories Saranga shares of this beautiful and most significant historical, cultural, and religious site. Biking is the best way to explore Anuradhapura. We biked through rice fields, lakes, and villages to visit different archaeological sites, something you can’t do in a car or tuktuk! And thank you Saranga for helping me sort out my transport to Negombo!

  We have a great experience during our cycling tour. Saranga was very accommodating, and knowledgeable. This is a great way to see the Unesco sites, and get some exercise at the same time. Highly recommend!
