I’m Saranga, an English-speaking guide from the Anuradhapura area. Join me on a mountain bike adventure through the ancient UNESCO World Heritage City of Anuradhapura, where history, culture, and nature come together beautifully.
Our hidden-route mountain bike tours take you beyond the usual paths, letting you discover secret temples, serene lakes, and local life at your own pace. We provide a professional mountain bicycle experience with top-quality bikes from trusted brands such as Giant, Trek, and Louis Garneau.

At 122 metres (400 ft), it was the world's tallest stupa, and the third tallest structure in the world when it was built by King Mahasena of Anuradhapura (273–301).
Samadhi Statue
The Samadhi Buddha is a famous statue situated at Mahamevnāwa Park in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. The Buddha is depicted in the position of the Dhyana Mudra, the posture of meditation associated with his first Enlightenment. This statue is 7 feet 3 inches in height and carved from dolomite marble.

5.00What a surprise! By far the best visit of my stay in Sri Lanka: rich in history, discovery, religion, landscape, you pass through a village, along a lake. Everything was perfect. Doing Anuradhapura in this way is the best way to visit the city.

5.00Could not have asked for a better morning for a exploration of all the major sights in Anuradhapura. Saranga was knowledgeable about the archeology and history of the sight as well as SriLankan Budism in general and delivers it all with a smile. Strongly recommend to anyone who visiting who wants a fun and educational tour. With the bonus of cycling in some clean air and through off the beaten track spots !

5.00Had the most special experience with Saranga as a guide! We learnt so much about the Ancient city and temples with our knowledgable guide. It was great to be part of something so authentic - the visit to Ruwanweli Maha Seya was amazing! Lots of the other tours we did in Sri Lanka seem to have less authenticity and was just made for tourists, so this was so refreshing to experience something unique and real. It rained during our tour but we didn’t care in the slightest. We had a few stops for tea & food along the way with locals, which was a really nice touch and a window into like in Sri Lanka. (And not trying to sell you anything like a lot of other tours) 100% recommend to come to Anuradhapura when visiting Sri Lanka and take this tour. It was one of the best things we did in our month in the country. Thank you Saranga!

5.00This heritage mountain bike tour in Anuradhapura was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka 🚴♀️🌿. Exploring such an ancient and vast site by bike is the perfect way to do it: it allows you to cover a lot of ground while still feeling completely immersed in the surroundings, far more engaging than travelling by car or tuk-tuk. The bikes were comfortable and well maintained, and the pace of the tour was relaxed and enjoyable. Our guide was absolutely fantastic: extremely knowledgeable, kind, and passionate about the history and culture of Anuradhapura. His explanations about Buddhism, the ancient kingdoms, and the significance of each site really brought the place to life and made the experience both educational and inspiring. We cycled through some of the most important monuments, stunning stupas, sacred temples and peaceful natural landscapes, often stopping to admire details you might otherwise miss. Being surrounded by nature, history and silence made the whole experience feel very special and authentic. Everything was well organised, from start to finish, and the tour offered a beautiful balance between history, culture and outdoor activity. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Anuradhapura — it’s a memorable, meaningful and unique way to experience one of Sri Lanka’s most important heritage sites

Saranga is a fantastic guide who not only guides you through all the world heritage sites, but also makes sure the route goes through the beautiful countryside. For me it was the perfect balance between cycling, stopping and interesting information. And all that with a delicious local lunch. Saranga has the heart in the right place; he is not only a great guide, but also a wonderful person. English: This was the most amazing bike tour in Anuradhapura. Saranga is a wonderful guide that leads you not only to all the world heritage sites, but also makes sure the ride includes some of the country side. 5.00MUST DO in anuradhapura. This trip was amazing. Mountainbiking between tempels and sightseeing in between was wonderfull. Maybe ask about his life story, it will give you a perspective of what’s most important in life!😉
