A fun and adventurous day hiking, river trekking and floating through caves and beautiful greenish blue pools (optional cliff jumping too). Swim through breathtaking limestone canyons, stunning caves and unique rock formations carved by the passing of the river, surrounded by beautiful, lush tropical forest scenery and a waterfall. An early start (to avoid the crowds) and smaller groups guided by an experienced and Certified Tour Guide provides a safer, more intimate and immersing experience with insightful information of the island.
Later enjoy some authentic delicious puertorrican food at a local restaurant. End your day hiking a short trail to a small hidden natural spring with pristine water, while learning about the local plants and trees. An unforgettable experience for adventurers seeking less touristic favorite local spots.
Tour requires GOOD PHYSICAL FITNESS, balance, flexibility, river trekking skills and BASIC SWIMMING SKILLS. Closed sturdy water/hiking shoes required.

Get ready to be amazed, get wet and enjoy some adrenaline almost as soon as this adventure starts. After a few minutes of walking downhill, we will encounter the river where it forms beautiful greenish blue pools and start swimming through a breathtaking small canyon carved by the passing of the river for thousands of years. The rock formations are amazing, unique looking and there will lazily float through the canyon admiring this nature’s gift and later do some river trekking. The more adventurous will have a chance of some optional cliff jumping in areas ranging to 8 to 20 feet and rock boulder to access the upper part of the canyon. Afterwards we will hike through an off the beaten path trail to access some incredible caves where we will swim through them surrounded by stunning flowstone rock formations, bats and a beautiful waterfall. Good physical condition and basic swimming skills are required to complete these activities.

5.00This tour was honestly one of the highlights of my trip. The river caving, waterfalls, and the tropical features made it feel like a real adventure. Our guide Yamile, was knowledgeable, friendly, and take good care of everyone , provided a lot of fun. Strongly recommend this tour if you look for something unique and adventurous in Puerto Rico.

5.00Outstanding tour. Unlike others with excessive downtime, this one was particularly well-paced. Transportation from the city to the Arenales river was comfortable, the light but informative narration of our excellent guide Yamile kept our group engaged throughout the day, and the sights of the river canyon and caves were spectacular. Highlights included the uncanny and unexplained presence of a rusted out car chassis just inside one of the caves, and a thrilling 30’ cliff jump into the river below.

5.00Absolutely unforgettable adventure, through gorgeous forest canyons and water features. The early morning is a must for avoiding the crowds, you get the river and forest to yourselves. Yamile was incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, organized and safe. The lunch was delicious and the van was comfortable. She will take great pics the whole way and get them to you before you leave. This tour is well worth the money. If you go outside of summer months I would wear a shirt in the water to stay a bit warmer. She will send lots of helpful info before and call to check in! You are so well cared for on this trip.

5.00Going to the Artesanales early was absolutely the best decision. Arriving before the crowds made the entire experience feel peaceful and almost surreal you’re able to truly take in every detail without distractions. The views were incredible, honestly unforgettable. Pictures don’t do it justice. One of the absolute highlights for me was jumping off it felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity and something I’ll always remember. YAMILE was fantastic very knowledgeable about the area and thorough in explaining both the history and the safety rules. I really appreciated how attentive she was, especially with my mom and the rest of our group. She gave helpful tips on how to safely navigate the rocks and trails, which made a big difference in feeling comfortable and confident throughout the experience. The restaurant we stopped at afterward was delicious, and they were great at helping us choose what to order. The water that was provided along the way was also a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. Overall, an amazing experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend!

5.00We had an amazing tour with Yamile. She was such a gracious and incredible guide who made the tour fun and safe. She took care to ensure each guest felt included and appreciated while also catering to different fitness levels and needs of the individuals. I'd recommend booking this tour early on in your trip as she had amazing recommendations for food and other tours.

5.00This was my 2nd excursion with this company, this time with my 18 year old son, and once again they exceeded expectations. Our tour guide, Yamile, was beyond incredible! She was well-spoken, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate not only about Puerto Rico, but making our time memorable and interactive. For an 18 year old (high school Sr) to say this was one of his best days, says a lot. We were so lucky that Yamile took photos throughout the tour which was especially helpful because we were swimming in the caves, under the waterfalls, jumping from cave ledges, & in the secret spring without our camera handy. She was the perfect guide. Before our departure, she shared all the photos. We truly couldn’t have been luckier with Yamile; she’s an A++ guide. On this tour, you will need to be physically fit & nimble to climb rocks, cling to rain forests' edges, and hike back up to the starting point. We loved it because when it came to lunch at a local gem of a restaurant, we were hungry. We're ready to sign up and do it all over again!

5.00Yamile with Puerto Rico like a Local was an amazing guide. We don’t usually do guided tours as we like to explore on our own but the river caving tour looked amazing. Glad we did a guided tour as we would not have known to go to certain spots even if we tried. She was very helpful with where to place our hands and feet to stay safe when the water was fast or there was a ledge. We felt safe and were able to explore much more than we would have on our own. The river caving was phenomenal, and the local dining spot was the best food I ever had and offered meat, fish and vegetarian options. The deep fried sweet potatoes were to die for. We didn’t think we’d enjoy the natural hot springs as much but it was very enjoyable. It was a short nature walk in the shade, where Yamile pointed out different flora and fauna, and ended up in a wonderful, clear water, swimming spot. She even picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. This was the highlight of our trip.
