A fun and adventurous day hiking, river trekking and floating through caves and beautiful greenish blue pools (optional cliff jumping too). Swim through breathtaking limestone canyons, stunning caves and unique rock formations carved by the passing of the river, surrounded by beautiful, lush tropical forest scenery and a waterfall. An early start (to avoid the crowds) and smaller groups guided by an experienced and Certified Tour Guide provides a safer, more intimate and immersing experience with insightful information of the island.
Later enjoy some authentic delicious puertorrican food at a local restaurant. End your day hiking a short trail to a small hidden natural spring with pristine water, while learning about the local plants and trees. An unforgettable experience for adventurers seeking less touristic favorite local spots.
Tour requires GOOD PHYSICAL FITNESS, balance, flexibility, river trekking skills and BASIC SWIMMING SKILLS. Closed sturdy water/hiking shoes required.

Get ready to be amazed, get wet and enjoy some adrenaline almost as soon as this adventure starts. After a few minutes of walking downhill, we will encounter the river where it forms beautiful greenish blue pools and start swimming through a breathtaking small canyon carved by the passing of the river for thousands of years. The rock formations are amazing, unique looking and there will lazily float through the canyon admiring this nature’s gift and later do some river trekking. The more adventurous will have a chance of some optional cliff jumping in areas ranging to 8 to 20 feet and rock boulder to access the upper part of the canyon. Afterwards we will hike through an off the beaten path trail to access some incredible caves where we will swim through them surrounded by stunning flowstone rock formations, bats and a beautiful waterfall. Good physical condition and basic swimming skills are required to complete these activities.

5.00This tour was definitely the highlight of our trip! The location that we were taken to was absolutely incredible but what made the tour so great was our guide Yamile! She was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about the area that we were exploring, but about Puerto Rican history and culture. Her expertise and amazing personality combined with the breathtaking views and nature scenes created an absolutely perfect day!

5.00Absolutely one of my favourite tours hands down! Yamile our guide was professional in communication and had our tour smooth and stress free. The views of the caves were phenomenal! The lunch was succulent and delicious. Yamile was helping taking lovely photos and videos all along. This whole experience was definitely the highlight of my trip in PR.

5.00An amazing experience, excellent guide and a day of fun in a magical place unlike any other. Our group was small, as most likely are, just 2 families, you need to be in ok shape or at least not afraid of imitating a mountain goat, but if you go slow and take your time the trek is not difficult and well worth the effort. GOOD water shoes are a must.

5.00This was our last excursion of our vacation & was nothing less than excellent. The caving, swimming & hiking were exhilarating! It was all so much fun! Yamile was so welcoming & it was obvious she put her heart into her work making it less like work & more like fun. I would definitely do another tour with Yamile & recommend anyone who is considering doing caving, swimming & hiking to go with Yamile & go early ;-)

5.00The day with Yamile on the river was AMAZING. She creates a most authentic and exciting adventure and shares a wealth of information about the history, the food, the landscape and the culture. There were 7 people, 3 different groups who had never met before, and we all became friends and family immediately- It’s the vibe that Yamile brings. She is in great shape and helped everyone feel empowered to make it through the tour.

5.00Our guide, Yamile, was so sweet and so entertaining. What we loved most about the tour is that we got to see the real Puerto Rico and not just tourist traps. We saw beautiful caves, rock formations, a natural spring, and stopped at an amazing local-favorite lunch spot for TRUE Puerto Rican food. We lucked out as our fellow travelers were just as nice as Yamile. If you looked like you were going to lose your balance, there was always somewhere there to lend a hand or offer encouragement. Yamile was very thorough with her instructions and ensured we were always being safe. I even received a call from her the night prior to ensure we packed accordingly (change of clothes, towel, water shoes, waterproof phone pouch), and I was briefed on what to expect. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Puerto Rico!

5.00This tour was AWESOME! I highly recommend Jamila from Puerto Rico as a Local. I looked at several different tours for river caving and ultimately chose this one because of the cap on the number of people (no more than 13), but there are other reasons to go with Jamila! Puerto Rico as a Local is her own company and she truly knows the area and the terrain. Reasons why I would choose this tour over others: 1. This is the earliest tour you can book, so you get to experience nature before the hoards of other tours show up! We had a 7am pick up, which is slightly earlier than my preference, but it was so worth it. We were the first people out there and got to experience the caves and trails in quiet and on our own. As we were leaving, there were throngs of people from other larger tours showing up. I know I would have been miserable if I was stuck in lines trying to get into the caves with those groups. 2 - Jamila is an excellent guide and prepares you for every step - there are some parts of the tour where you really need to be mindful of how you traverse the terrain and which steps you take. Jamila demonstrated where to place your feet, your hands, and directed each person safely through some of the trickier bits (it's not a super tricky tour, but she knows the land and the terrain EXTREMELY well). For jumping into the water - she gave options based on comfort level - high jump, medium jump, lower jumps. When going through running water over rocks and logs to get into the caves, she told us exactly where to place our hands and feet. I felt safe with her. Other call outs: - Lunch spot was excellent! - The nature trail we went on after lunch was beautiful, and Jamila has lots of hidden nature surprises for us along the way. The spring we went to at the end of the trail was gorgeous. - Jamila had plenty of cold bottled water for us when we were thirsty, and keeps the transport van very clean - We followed her recommendation for a seafood place for dinner, Cueva del Mar, and it was EXCELLENT. I had the crab mfongo. Highly recommend.
