California Lighthouse

The California Lighthouse, commonly referred to by locals as Faro, rises prominently on a limestone plateau at Hudishibana, near Arashi Beach and the Sasariwichi dunes on Aruba’s northwestern coast. It is recognized as the tallest structure on the island. The lighthouse takes its name from the British steamship S.S. California, which sank in 1891—more than two decades before the lighthouse was constructed between 1914 and 1916. Its construction served as a safeguard to prevent similar maritime accidents. In May 2016, the lighthouse was fully restored in honor of its 100th anniversary.

Alto Vista Chapel

Alto Vista Chapel is a small Catholic chapel that stands on the hills above the north shore of Aruba. The present chapel was completed in 1952 and is located on the exact same location as the original chapel, which was built by the Venezuelan missionary in 1750.

Awesome! It was perfect tour which was well managed and explained by Dolfi. The experience was perfect as the tour length and coverage of key landmarks was perfect. Dolfi was very friendly and considerate , explained the history and the places with great enthusiasm and made it interesting

This tour is going to take you to all the major sights in Aruba. Nice air conditioned van, good guide/driver, around 4-4.5 hours total and you can walk away knowing something about the island other than it has nice beaches. I would recommend. One thing to note is that if you are on a cruise, you have to exit the cruise terminal and go stand in front of the store called Ocean Drive (big blue sign) about 200 ft from the terminal exit.

Walking shoes or sandals. No swimming on this tour. All land. Uneven terrain. Windy so if plan accordingly to keep hair out of face. Really interesting history. Dolfi was born and raised in Aruba and was an excellent guide

Dolfi was an excellent tour guide. He is native to Aruba and shared his knowledge well. We enjoyed our tour very much. Took about 3.5 hours. Very comfortable with water and chips provided. Well worth the price through Viator
It was a great value to see many Aruba attractions in a short time. Our guide Dolpi provided a wonderful experience!

Recommend this tour to anyone visiting Aruba. John is very knowledgeable about the island. Spend half a day exploring the island with a local.

John was great! Knowledgeable and entertaining, friendly, full of tips and info. Felt like we got our moneys worth. We saw the North side of Aruba and if John does a tour of the South side, sign me up! Would recommend this tour - ask for John!
Nice Tour but Bumpy Ride

Tour was great! Just the van we rode in was not as comfortable as we would like. There were at least two times we lofted in the air from our seats when the driver hit speed bumps. That was concerning. Also, not much conversation from the driver between stops. A little bit of a language barrier. Also the van stalled out a few times- I guess it was a manual shift. Also didn’t know on our way back that we would be picking up people at other pick up spots. No communication from the driver concerning this. I’d say, just improve on communication. All in all he was a nice guy, and did a good job.

Nice and easy way to get an overview of the island. Very pleasant driver. He was kind enough to stop at a bakery at the request of several of us. Bus was comfortable. Water and chips were provided.

Jon was an excellent tour guide and extremely accommodating to the group. The tour was several hours with snacks and water provided, which was great. The price was very affordable- I believe $39 or $49 (I booked several experiences throughout my vacation, so I forget the exact amount of this one).
