California Lighthouse
The California Lighthouse, commonly referred to by locals as Faro, rises prominently on a limestone plateau at Hudishibana, near Arashi Beach and the Sasariwichi dunes on Aruba’s northwestern coast. It is recognized as the tallest structure on the island. The lighthouse takes its name from the British steamship S.S. California, which sank in 1891—more than two decades before the lighthouse was constructed between 1914 and 1916. Its construction served as a safeguard to prevent similar maritime accidents. In May 2016, the lighthouse was fully restored in honor of its 100th anniversary.
Alto Vista Chapel
Alto Vista Chapel is a small Catholic chapel that stands on the hills above the north shore of Aruba. The present chapel was completed in 1952 and is located on the exact same location as the original chapel, which was built by the Venezuelan missionary in 1750.

Dolfi is an amazing driver and tour guide, shores a lot knowledge about Aruba. The places we visited are the must in Aruba, exclude those crowded beaches😂 Take a half day tour to visit these attractions and know more about culture and trivia of Aruba with very reasonable price. Well recommend

Tried calling listed phone numbers 24 hours in advance and no one answered. Cruise ship arrived in port to late to make scheduled trip and unable to see if a later one was avaible as no one answered either of the phone numbers we had on our booking sheets.

We did John Habibe’s countryside tour in Aruba and it was one of the highlights of our two-week Caribbean trip. It really showed a different side of the island beyond the beaches, with stops including the lighthouse, a beautiful remote church, rock formations, the gold mine and an interesting aloe vera factory visit. John was warm, knowledgeable and a great photographer, and the tour was really well paced; we saw a lot without ever feeling rushed. I’m a manual wheelchair user and John was fantastic with accessibility. Some stops (like the lighthouse and church) were very easy to access, while others were more uneven, but I still felt included and comfortable throughout. The aloe vera museum has a few steps (around 10), but it’s short and John kindly carried my wheelchair. Overall, if you’re happy to do the accessible parts, this tour is absolutely worth it. We still talk about it weeks later - highly recommend!

We did John Habibe’s countryside tour in Aruba and it ended up being one of our favourite excursions from our two weeks cruising the Caribbean. This tour really stood out because it showed a completely different side of Aruba. We got to see the landscape, local landmarks and learn about the island properly. John was brilliant – really warm, friendly and full of knowledge. He also took some great photos for us and was really good at spotting nice photo spots along the way, which we loved. The tour itself was really well paced. It was a good length and we saw a lot without ever feeling rushed. He was also flexible with how long we spent at each stop, which made it feel really easy and enjoyable. We visited the lighthouse, a beautiful remote church with amazing views, the rock formations, the abandoned gold mine, and the aloe vera factory. The aloe vera stop was really interesting: short and interactive, and although there’s a shop, there’s no pressure to buy anything. I’m a manual wheelchair user and John was fantastic with this. It didn’t faze him at all and he helped with the wheelchair throughout the day. The lighthouse and church were very accessible (you can get really close and still enjoy everything). The rock formations and gold mine were harder for me and I couldn’t do all of those areas, but there were still bits I could access, plus seating and a café nearby the rock formation so I was still comfortable and included. At the aloe vera factory, the outside areas and shop are accessible, and the museum is up about 10 steps. John carried my wheelchair, which we really appreciated, and the museum itself is quite small - probably 5-10 minutes. If you have limited mobility but can manage a few stairs, it’s very doable. Overall from an accessibility perspective, if you’re happy to do the accessible parts and skip the more uneven/climbing bits, this tour is still 100% worth it. I felt really well looked after and able to enjoy the day properly. It was also great value, and nearly two weeks later we’re still talking about it. Thanks so much John for such a lovely day, we’d absolutely recommend this tour!
