This is an Assisi tour with your private guide. Discover the famous monuments of Assisi on a private walking tour, and stroll down alleys to the typical squares of the Old Town. See Roman ruins, old stone houses, and magnificent frescoes.
Due to the exposition of the remains of St. Francis, guided tours of the basilica will be suspended from February 15, 2026, to April 6, 2026.
The guide will provide an explanation from outside, and then visitors will be able to enter on their own.

Please notice: on Sundays, big Catholic holidays and National holidays, guided tours inside the Basilica of St. Francis ar forbidden. You guide will explain to you the church from outside, and you will enter alone on silence.

The Basilica of Saint Clare is a church dedicated to and contains the remains of Saint Clare of Assisi, a follower of Saint Francis of Assisi and founder of the Order of Poor Ladies, known today as the Order of Saint Clare.
Chiesa Nuova
Erected in 1615 on the remains of a building believed to be the home of St. Francis. The building’s architecture design is from the Renaissance period. The façade, built of brick, is divided by four pillars supporting a Doric entablature, with attic gable, above which rises a hemispherical dome.

5.00Assisi is a beautiful place and our guide is very knowledgeable. He’s able to keep us engaged with his stories and it was like walking around the town with a friend. Not only did he bring us see the sights but also introduced us to the trades & cultures of Assisi. The 2.5hrs went by in a breeze and he left us with lunch suggestion as well as sights to occupy us in the afternoon, which turned out to be another highlight during our stay in Assisi. Big thank you Werner!

She readily tailored the tour to our areas of greatest interest. All members of our group had previously visited Assisi and everyone said that they learned a great deal of new information from Francesca.

5.00Begoña is the best! She has a great charisma and passion for the city of Assisi. We did a tour with four little ones and she was able to keep them engaged and the kids loved it as well as the adults. Beautiful to get to know the history.

5.00Francesca introduced us to all the history of San Francisco, knowing the most emblematic sites. He did so in a very entertaining way, with great depth but at the same time adapting his explanation so that the little ones could follow it. It had the attention of the whole family and we got an excellent experience of Assisi! It was great to share the experience with Francesca.

5.00Werner was a great guide for our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 teenagers). He gave us a comprehensive history of Assisi, St. Clare, St. Francis, as well as the opportunity to visit the tomb of Carlo Acutis, and provide us with a wonderful lunch option, too. He helped us find shelter during some thunderstorms, and gave us additional information about other churches and things to see in Assisi. We would definitely recommend Werner to anyone looking to learn more about Assisi and the saints who left their marks there so long ago.
