1. The Osun-Osogbo Festival is held every August at the Osun- Osogbo Sacred Grove Forest, a UNESCO world heritage site. As a mark of the bond that was established six centuries ago, it is a traditional tribal festival to honor the river goddess, Osun. 2. The Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, a four-day annual festival that runs between late February and March is listed on the 'UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity'. Started since 1934, the festival promotes the culture of the Argungu people and it is the biggest fishing festival in Africa. 3. The durbar festival is one of the most colourful festivals in the northern part of Nigeria featuring royal parades of thousands of men adorned with various colourful attires riding on horses. It is a four-day event that sees thousands of people participate in a magnificent display of equestrian activities. The event takes place at the end of Ramadan and coincides with the onset of Eid al-Adha.
