Come with us for your Aurora hunt for an amazing and ethical experience underneath the Aurora Borealis. Leave the light pollution in Tromsø behind and travel into the Arctic wilderness. During this activity, our small team of Aurora guides check the forecasts & use local knowledge to decide on the best place to chase the Northern Lights. When we find the best spot we will dress in warm thermal suits and boots, make a cosy campfire, and enjoy a homemade meal.
You'll be shown how to use your camera, photograph the Aurora, and our guides will take photos of you, which are provided for free in web-sized resolution after the tour.
Relax by the fire with hot chocolate before being returned back to Tromsø island to your hotel. Though there is never a guarantee of seeing this phenomenon, our experienced team of Aurora Hunters will do their best, every night of the season.

What started as a snow stormy night with low likelihood to see auroras, let alone stars, miraculously shifted when an open spot in the weather system was spotted by our terrific guide Lucas and his other local guide contacts, then swiftly driven to by Maciej. We all poured out of the minibus fast to change into the environmental suits and boots, then were rewarded with an extraordinary light show for perhaps 20-30 minutes. The spot was just a bit off the rural road and had terrific view of a fiord or lake with mountains in the background and some twinkles from several locals' homes in the background. Plenty of time for individual photos and use of tripods. Lucas who has seen the Northern Lights innumerable times was just as excited as all of us on the tour. After we had our fill of the mesmerizing sky, we headed just a short distance down the road where Lucas and Maciej had set-up a fire circle complete with travel size folding chairs. Hearty soup and cookies completed the package with Lucas explaining the science behind the aurora phenomena. Sounds like 70% of nights are successful hunts, but this also showed that what seems like poor conditions can change or work out to be a spectacular evening... Well done Wondering Owl and mother nature!

An unbelievable experience. Tomas and Lucas were excellent guides. They took us to a beautiful spot, took care to take pictures for us, and were generally lovely. We were so lucky and had an amazing night of aurora activity to watch. Highly recommend this experience!

We had a very enthusiast guide and a comfortable bus. The night was challenging but we could see auroras.

We got lucky with a clear day and what an amazing experience. The tour guide could be more helpful and knowledgeable. We drive around for about an hour. The northern lights were visible in plain sight. All the tour arrangements were PERFECT!! Thank you

The whole experience was a fake. The guide pretended to be looking for Auroras when all the stops were abviously been pré determined , they were not hunting for auroras , as they claim in the website . Not recomendable.
