[DEPARTURE] Booked times are tentative and may change due to schedule at the Auschwitz Museum and traffic conditions.

[DOCUMENTS] **Full names of all participants MUST be provided during booking (the same as on ID or passport, no nicknames). Passport or ID is MANDATORY for each participant and will be checked. No ID = NO ENTRY!**

[VISIT] Guided group tour only, no individual pacing. Respectful behavior and smart casual dress required. Eating, smoking, and loud behavior are not allowed.

[PICKUP] Some Krakow hotels are in traffic-restricted zones. Pickup will be arranged from the nearest accessible point and you will be informed in advance.

[LUNCH] Lunch is not included. There is no time for a full meal between visits, and no food facilities on-site, so please bring a snack.

[SECURITY] An airport-style security check is required before entering the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.

[WEATHER] The tour runs in all weather. Up to 70% of the visit takes place outdoors, so please dress appropriately and bring water on warm days.

[CHILDREN] Children must be accompanied by an adult. Infant seats are available. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, the tour is recommended for ages 13+.

[PHOTOS] Photography is allowed except in marked areas. Flash is not permitted inside buildings.

[RENOVATIONS] Due to roadworks in western Krakow, pickups in that area are not possible. The Straszewskiego 19 meeting point is temporarily closed. We will arrange a nearby alternative if needed.

Your tour begins with transportation from Krakow (hotel or address you specified). Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is located in the town Oswiecim, about 1h15min in one way (65km). Every driver we cooperate with has all required by EU permissions for passenger transport. An English speaking and friendly leader of the group will assist you at any time you need. After arriving in Oswiecim, have a short break to grab a coffee or keep an eye on outdoor exhibitions.Then be kindly introduced to your local and professional guide who is licensed by Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.

Start your tour by walking through the gate to the first camp - Auschwitz I - originally conceived as a concentration camp, to be used as a detention centre for the many Polish citizens arrested after Germany annexed the country in 1939, with the most recognizable sign Arbeit Macht Frei (Work Makes You Free).This part usually takes 2 hours and you will be using a headset to hear your guide clearly. The group according to the Museum’s rule counts up to 30 people making the visit comfortable and accessible for every participant. Visit the original wooden buildings, fortified walls, barbed wires, gas chambers and crematoria - all of those leave a shocking impression allowing to imagine the scale of Holocaust.

I had a wonderful experience going to Auschwitz!! Arturo is an amazing person. He not only picked everyone up on time, he is a very brilliant professor as well. Teaching History on the way to the camp. From pick up to drop off was almost to be exact 7 hours, which is accurate. Amazing atmosphere, no interruptions. Highly Recommend!! I’m definitely booking for more tours through this company! Why? Excellent Delivery!!

Wow what an experience! Communication was on point ! Our pickup was 5:55 and was on the dot was greeted by our driver patryk, who was an amazing driver and host , 11/10 for him he was so friendly and accomodating . The trip itself was well organised and we were back before 1 , all details was explained to us , we were in a car of 4 people and then the tour itself was with around 20 people , so not to packed ! I would highly recommend booking this tour with this company . The first camp tour was around 1 hour 30 minutes and we had a 15 minute break after where we could get food at the cafe then headed to the second camp birkenau which was shorter but was the perfect amount . Book this trip worth the money , ease of mind ! Thanks again

Great arrangement by Hello Krakow (through Viator, of course). Van with a limited number of people. Pre-tour: Super communication from Patrycja of the Hello Krakow team. Excellent. Pick-up: On time. Max was a great driver with good conversation about Poland. Long drive from Krakow to the camps. The tour: Arrangements at Auschwitz and Birkenau were excellent. The guide/educator Christoph was passionate and gave us a clear picture of the history, plus books to read afterwards. Wow. Tip: I ordered lunch through Hello Krakow: do this, since there's not much time between the Auschwitz and Birkenau tours. Weather note: It was cold, sub-freezing, and mostly outdoors, so dress warmly. (January 2026) Wonderful trip. Highly recommend this tour via Viator. Thanks to the team!

Good communication via WhatsApp. On time for pick up. Very organised. Make sure your passport or ID card is in the same name as your ticket (my wife used her married surname for the booking but her id is in her maiden name - they nearly didn't accept it). Photo of id is sufficient. Very knowledgeable tour guide - not always a lot of time to read all the information signs but the tour was very clear and informative

It was great having everything organised. There was a lot of people at each site but our driver ensured we had tickets and went through security with us at Auschwitz & then at Auschwitz Birkenau making sure we were clear what to do and then ensured we were with our guide before he left. This took the hassle and confusion out of the visit. The company was extremely efficient and used WhatsApp to contact me (and gave me other good local suggestions). As I use an e-sim abroad, having the company on WhatsApp was great. It was great having a dedicated guide for the trip as well as a small tour group. There was 15 in our group which was a good number to ensure everyone stayed together and could always hear the commentary (audio sets provided at first stop but not the second - these are from the sites, not the company). Some groups came on big coaches with 40+ people in their groups. I would highly recommend this company for group size. To note, when booking this experience I selected the start time of 7:15am, but the actual pick up time was 5:45am keep this in mind when booking as it was a suprise to me. Additionally, there was a feeling of being rushed in certain points, there is lots of people queuing to get into buildings and it’s very tight at some points, we had to keep moving, I would have liked additional stops to further absorb the information and read the plaques around the site - whilst our guide was giving lots of information some of the plaques went into greater deal on some elements. Accessibility for babies / toddlers (not company related, more applicable to the sites). I came to Poland with another adult and an 18 month old baby. After doing extensive research into the tours offered we decided it would be best for the baby to skip this experience. If you’re a parent/guardian with a baby this information may be of use: - there was 2 babies with prams that I saw throughout the day (not many considering how many people were there) - if you have a pram that can handle rough terrain, Auschwitz would be manageable with a pram. However, there is a LOT of entering and exiting buildings to see showcases about the site at Auschwitz and prams are not allowed inside. There was a family on my tour with a pram, they were constantly putting the pram down and up again, leaving it outside and then having to collect it. The baby was carried around by family members inside the exhibitions. Stairs are uneven and were slippery in the building (attended December) so baby was being constantly carried. - wouldn’t be able to toddle about and need to stick to a certain place to keep up with the group - very ominous experience which could make baby uncomfortable - Auschwitz Birkenau was extremely hard for the family in my group, the terrain is extremely bumpy and was incredible slippery. The only section of the site that they were able to push their pram was along a muddy bank. - Both sites were extremely so I recommend wearing your thermals if you’re travelling around a similar time (December). I would book with this tour company again.
