  Our visit to Byde Mill was an awesome experience! From the time we arrived, we were shown a fantastic Bajan hospitality, but it was not overpowering. The decor was interesting, as it featured a selection of antiques from yesteryear, which brought back memories. The highlight was our meal, that was beyond our expectations. It was tasty and uniquely local. We especially enjoyed the Cow Heal and Lentil Soup, and the Breadfruit casserole. Also, the lush landscape provided us with a feeling of serenity and calm. Byde Mill gave us with the perfect ambiance in which to enjoy our meal. We cant wait to visit again!!!

  I had the pleasure of experiencing lunch at Byde Mill on Easter Sunday, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely fantastic, every dish was full of flavor. What really stood out, though, was the atmosphere. It was calm, welcoming, and incredibly relaxing. After lunch, there was no feeling of being rushed at all. We were able to take our time, enjoy the surroundings, and make the most of the afternoon. The grounds offered a lovely space to unwind, with games and a bar area that made it easy to continue enjoying the experience long after the meal. It’s the kind of place where you can truly sit back, relax, and enjoy great food and company. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to visiting again.

  A delightful Sunday afternoon. A slice of Bajan history blended with a most civilised Sunday luncheon. Renee, a justly proud owner of this period home welcomed me at the gates. I very rudely arrived a little early, but this wasn’t a problem. I joined a few international souls, but there was a marked Bajan flavour and candour for those joining for lunch. A beautiful array of Sunday best brought a real Caribbean feel to the restaurant. A mix of family and a tight group of co-workers made the occasion feel most welcoming and there was never a shortage of attention. Should you have a relaxed itinerary and wish to experience a few days of true 18th Century architectural interiors and decor, book and stay here.

  Absolulely amazing. Went for Sunday lunch celebrating a birthday and they did not disappoint!!! Ambience, food, staff...all on point. The food reminded me of grandma's cooking. The stunning views and serenity made me feel like part of the history. We didn't want to leave!!! Definately worth another visit. Jacqueline & family.

  I visited Byde Mill alone for their Sunday lunch (book in hand). Walking the grounds felt almost spiritual as I explored the garden and read the history and stories of the people who were there generations ago. I sat on the verandah for lunch where it was somewhat private but I could still see people inside the Great House chatting and enjoying themselves. Lunch was lovely and I particularly enjoyed their bayleaf lemonade and guava turnovers. I enjoyed it so much that I stayed till sunset. It feels like they are rewriting history at Byde Mill. As a black-owned plantation, they are changing the plantation grounds and great house into a space that honours the past with reverence (I love that they referred to the men and women who were enslaved there not as slaves but as enslaved men and women... slavery happened to them but it was not their identity) yet the space and experience isn't stuck in the past. It welcomes all people and invites visitors to find peace, healing, good Bajan food and so much joy!

  The authentic Barbados lunch was delicious and the history of the great house is very interesting. Rene was a gracious host and the grounds are lovely.
