You will first stop at the Huguosi Snacks street which is a traditional snack street with the history of more than 700 years. The restaurant is famous for Steamed Rice Cakes with Sweet Stuffing, Soybean Cake, Crisp Noodle, Fried Ring, and Fermented Mung Bean Juice, which are not only unique in taste, but also delicate in style. Miancha, salty and delicate, is a kind of porridge made with millet.

5.00I had a fabulous food and cultural experience with May. Loved the food and got to eat in places frequented by neighbourhood locals and places I would never find. May was also very generous in sharing her life experiences living in Beijing. Gave me as a visitor a great insight into part of life in this stunning place.

5.00My guide May was fantastic in organising my food tour despite hurdles such as stores undergoing renovations, and helped me experience a wide range of lovely breakfast dishes that I'd otherwise not have tried or even know about!

5.00Adam was fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable about China’s history and economy and could crack jokes along the way. My wife and I arrived early and Adam was there ready to go. Whisked us off to delicious dumplings and then treated us to Mongolian noodles (which I can still taste in my dreams) and got us to try Mongolian beer, then a Muslim spot with lamb skewers barbecue and then the famous doornail buns with a Beijing beer. Loved getting to try all the different food styles, each one different and so significant in the history. Beyond the food - learning about the Hutong architecture, styles and how the front doors were statements to the public about status, title, and job. Couldn’t recommend this more! Definitely book with 3+people otherwise you may not have enough stomach to eat all the food!

5.00May took us on our food tour and we had the best time. Communication about where and when to meet was clear and timely and May was quick to respond to messages. We had an array of dishes some of which included: temple snacks, dumplings and noodles. May shared insight into the different dishes and answered all the questions we had. It was a wonderful evening.

5.00Our tour guide May was such a sweetheart. Unfortunately due to Chinese New Year holidays some of the restaurants in our itinerary were closed. But she took us to another restaurants. We tried so much food and everything was very delicious. Thank you May. 🫶

5.00Lots of authentic good food. Go with an empty stomach. Justin brought us to a local place where there are few people and lots of different kinds of food to eat. Justin also shared local Beijing food culture with us. Recommended!

5.00Loved this tour! A super friendly guide took us to try so many delicious local dishes in hidden spots I’d never find alone. Walking through the old hutongs was beautiful and full of life.
