Meet your guide at the Huangpi Nan Road metro station and depart on foot for the Xintiandi area of Shanghai. Start with a taste of notable soup dumplings and learn from your guide about their construction, including the savory meat filling and flavorful broth.
Former French Concession
Afterward, its a 15-minute walk to Yunnan Road, where you'll sit down alongside local residents catching up with their friends at three traditional restaurants and one dessert shop. On the way, notice French lane apartments of the French Concession give way to Chinese stone houses, called shikumen, and observe daily life among the street vendors, office workers, and mahjong players.

5.00Jade was an excellent tour guide. She was knowledgeable, personable, friendly and showed us a really great time. The tour itself was a great way to explore the local food scene and try some of the lesser touristy local food gems. All the places we visited were delicious with the egg crepes and soup dumplings being the standout instant favorites. You will not regret booking this tour, just make sure you come with an empty stomach and an appetite.

5.00Jim was a very friendly host. Knowledgeable and gave great facts/insights into Shanghai life. It was fairly expensive but we ate a LOT, including an ex-Michelin star restaurant. Highly recommend!

5.00Serena was a great tour guide. She was very engaging. We tried traditional Shanghai dishes and dishes from different parts of China in restaurants where local people go (rather than touristic places) We also learnt a lot about the local culture and China in general. Great tour for first timers!
