Jim and Jade showed us an incredible evening after our arrival in Shanghai. It was a pleasure to learn about the history and culture of the city while enjoying some really great food. A must for any first time or repeat visitors to Shanghai.

Jade was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable not only about all the dishes we had but also about the local history. I definitely recommend this tour!

Eat like a local! Explore off the beaten path with a wonderful personable guide! Patrick met us promptly and we were off to explore the side streets of Shanghai. We could never have found these little “hole in the wall” establishments without our expert guide Patrick. I can’t say enough positive about how special Patrick made this experience. We talked food, how it was prepared, its origins, culture, history, current events, you name it! Delicious food but better company! Five plus stars!!

We had a one day stop-over in Shanghai and were dying to try the local cuisine. The best part, our tour was completely vegetarian including a Michelin listed restaurant. Something that usually involves a lot of research and time. Plus this was our first foodie tour! Our guide Jade was great fun to spend the day with and answered any questions we had about the city, the people, the food and its history. We walked around the French Concession first stopping at two restaurants, walked thru a beautiful park, learned a bit about the city's history at a museum and finished at a "teahouse" with a tea ceremony. It was a fantastic experience to have a local show you were to get great tasting vegetarian food, be around natives, ask questions about the city and not feel like a total alien. I am giving this review 4/5 stars solely because I do consider the price of £66pp to be expensive considering that the food is very cheap and we split all of the dishes. There was definitely enough to eat. We had a light breakfast before the tour and were fine for the rest of the day. This was a 1pm afternoon food tour. In terms of the dishes, we tried the following: - Shanghai noodles with sesame and peanut sauce - Spicy Cucumber, chilli and peanut salad - Assorted mushrooms with tofu in different textures - Vegetarian dumplings - Jian Bing - Ma Lai Go Chinese Steamed Cake - Wood Ear Mushroom Salad with Okra - Fried Tofu with sweet chilli sauce - Mushrooms in a clay pot with soy sauce and oyster sauce - Different teas (black, herbal, ginger) I highly recommend the tour because we would not have known where to find these dishes, how to order them and enjoy all of it with a local who made us feel very welcome to the city. Jade is a great guide and I hope you take this tour. Ps: book directly with them
