Old Orhei Archeological Complex
Orheiul Vechi ("Old Orhei") is a spectacular archaeological complex located about 60km north-east of Chişinău between the villages of Trebujeni and Butuceni. This beautiful valley bordered by the river Răut, is one of the most famous tourist sites of the country. The panorama is breathtakingly beautiful. There are several old buildings dating from different periods. Ancient fortresses dug in the rock, the remains of a mosque and Christian monasteries make the site an outstanding representative of the rich and eventful history of the region. A small local museum provides all the necessary information to visitors.
Manastirea Curchi
The Curchi Monastery, is one of the most significant monuments of Moldavian architecture. It is located in the region of Orhei, 55 km from Chisinau, the capital; on the right side of the Vatici Valley, at the foot of the forest called "Codru". This monastic complex has a cultural and religious history of two and a half centuries and is considered the most beautiful and the most famous place of worship in Bessarabia. The location of Curchi Monastery is of rare splendor thanks to the nature that surrounds it. It bathes in a green sea and plunges into a fabulous contrast with its white and red walls.

Andrian is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Moldova and shared fascinating insights about the monasteries we visited. We learned so much and saw some truly beautiful places, especially with the stunning fall foliage. I highly recommend this tour with Andrian!

5.00My tour guide Tim was excellent! Fluent in English. He is very good at telling traditions and reporting on the country and people. He has a very broad knowledge of the country, culture, economy and much more. The tour was exclusively focused on cultural sites, of which there would be more. No photograph can reflect what you see and experience in person. Monasteries are very well preserved. Hiking trails are well signposted. Pure nature!

5.00Great experience, perfectly designed to see most of what’s to be seen in the area in a condensed timeframe & with comfort. Andrian is very nice, provider a wealth of information of Moldova past & contemporary, and gives plenty of flexibility to enjoy things at your own rhythm. The lunch he recommended was super good and incredible value for money. I’m female, was travelling solo and felt super safe all the time :)
