Curzon Hall
Curzon Hall is a stunning blend of Mughal and European architecture located within the Dhaka University campus. Travelers will marvel at its red-brick arches, intricate designs, and historical significance. Built in 1904, it was initially intended as a town hall but now serves as the Faculty of Science. Walking through Curzon Hall, visitors experience a piece of Bangladesh’s colonial past, with beautiful green lawns and gardens adding to its charm. The hall is also a symbol of Bangladesh's Language Movement, where students gathered to advocate for Bengali as an official language, making it a meaningful stop for history enthusiasts.
Shahid Minar
The Shaheed Minar (Martyrs' Monument) is a powerful symbol of Bangladesh’s fight for linguistic and cultural identity. Located near Dhaka University, this memorial honors the students and activists who sacrificed their lives in the 1952 Language Movement, demanding Bengali be recognized as an official language. The monument’s design, featuring vertical columns symbolizing a mother and her fallen children, evokes deep emotions. Every year on February 21 (International Mother Language Day), thousands visit to pay tribute. A visit to the Shaheed Minar offers travelers a meaningful glimpse into Bangladesh’s history of resilience and pride in its language and heritage.

Managed to see all the best sites of Dhaka by car, foot, boat, and rickshaw. Wouldn’t have been a better experience without a guide to walk you through everything and take care of you.

This was a brilliant day exploring Dhaka. We were picked up from our hotel, taking exhilarating rickshaw rides and a boat trip on the river, to experience authentic sights and sounds of Dhaka. Our guide, Norman, was friendly, knowledgeable, competent and honest - we were able to ask him about many aspects of life in Bangladesh. We visited the Pink Palace, Lalbagh Fort, Star Mosque, Hindu quarter, Armenian Church, Flower Market and the ship repair yard. The biryani lunch was good too.

It was a great tour and Sayheed was an informative guide with great knowledge about the history and the places that we visited. I must say it was the best such tour that I have had. It was just how I like to see a place walking down back streets and exploring little alleyways. The food to finish the trip was also excellent.

We only had 18 hours total in Dhaka and required some complicated logistics to make the most of our limited time. We can't believe everything we got to experience from this incredible city. Tuhin and his team did an incredible job to accommodate our entire family. Boats, Rickshaws, authentic food and incredible history.

Raihan is a great and experienced tour guide! I’ve had such a great time here in Dhaka. I was quite nervous beforehand because of the hygiene and safety, but he is super knowledgeable and meticulous in his planning that we would only eat the hygienic food and drinks while not compromising on the authenticity of the experience. 100% recommend it to anyone considering to visit Bangladesh!

As an Afghan traveler, visiting Dhaka was something completely new for me—but exploring Old Dhaka with Insignia Tours and Travel made it truly special. From the very beginning, everything felt well-organized and welcoming. The team was friendly, respectful, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the journey. Old Dhaka is full of life—busy streets, rich history, and unique culture—and having a knowledgeable guide made a huge difference in understanding the stories behind every place. We explored places like Lalbagh Fort, Ahsan Manzil, and walked through the vibrant alleys of the old city. The boat ride on the Buriganga River was one of the highlights—chaotic yet beautiful in its own way. What I appreciated most was how the team handled everything smoothly while also giving me the space to experience the city at my own pace. It didn’t feel like a typical tour—it felt more personal. If you are visiting Bangladesh and want to explore the real essence of Dhaka, I would definitely recommend Insignia Tours and Travel.
