Crumlin Road Gaol
Crumlin road Gaol is notorious for housing IRA,UVF,UFF,INLA prisoners over 30 years of conflict.Built in the 1800s and a hanging jail it was attacked by a loyalist RPG rocket during the 90s and has many tails of escapes.
Shankill Road
The heart of loyalism and birth place of the UVF and UDA.This road dates back to 455AD so steeped in British history. Your guide will travel the narrow street and let you get out and take photos of the famous bonfires and murals that tell the history and express the culture of the Protestant people.

5.00This tour was a great enlightening experience, where you get a perspective of history and real life lived experience alongside it. Our guide Gerard had a significant amount to share, some old photos, lived stories and experiences over the past decades as well as a view of the future.

5.00Our taxi driver was very knowledgeable and give the perspective from both sides, the area is very itself is smaller than you think. Have an open mind as the area has completely changed it’s all new house’s so you have to maybe use some imagination. Very good tour.

5.00Must do in Belfast. If you’re visiting do it early in your trip. Jarlath (not sure of spelling sorry!) was the best. Lots of history and personal connections to that history. Picked up at our hotel and drove through different areas of Belfast explaining context, history, murals, etc aided by photos and video clips. Recommend you educate yourself on the troubles / Irish history beforehand to get the most out of it. Thanks J! Stay a cheeky c!!!

5.00Ricky was an excellent guide through the history of the Troubles in Belfast. Great storyteller who combined a first rate knowledge of history with personal experiences. We spent almost 3 weeks traveling around Europe and this was one of the biggest highlights of our trip. Would highly recommend to anybody visiting Belfast.

5.00This tour is worth the money! Ricky was amazing. As a proper Irish historian and someone with lived experience, we left with a much deeper understanding of the city and of the effect of the British presence in Ireland over the last 800 years. This was the highlight of our whole trip.
