On this history-rich excursion, we travel east to the ancient city of Baalbek driving along the country’s prime agricultural region, the Bekaa Valley and its fertile soil, a huge multi-colored patchwork of fields, vines and villages, nestled between Mount Lebanon to the west and the Anti-Lebanon mountains to the east.

Temples of Baalbek

We explore the spectacular Roman temples of Baalbek-Heliopolis dedicated to Jupiter, Bacchus and Venus, which makes up the largest and best-preserved Roman architecture left around. The Jupiter temple isn't just the largest Roman temple in the world. The granite and limestone pillars themselves are among the largest archaeologists have ever seen. The six Corinthian columns which remain of 54 columns - each 20 meters tall and 2.5 meters in diameter - are said to be the world's largest.

Rouba was a wonderful tour guide. We did 3 separate tour days with her and she was very knowledgeable, kind and professional. Also an excellent driver on many mountain roads! She let us set our itinerary and gave us other ideas for additional stops along the way. We never felt rushed and she always wanted to make sure we were getting the most out of each excursion to all the different sites. She even accompanied us on an excursion to find distant family. I highly recommend her as a tour guide. We will miss her!

It was an awesome and interesting experience. Rouba is such an incredible guide, she is full of knowledge, very professional, warmhearted and good to talk to. I recommend touring with her to everyone who visits libanon!

Wonderful tour filled with historical and intriguing sites. Our tour guide was knowledgeable on all the places we visited. The wine cellar tour was also a novel experience. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lebanon!

We had an amazing time with Rouba as our tour guide! Easy to talk to, nice, and receptive to all of our needs. She helped us see how beautiful Lebanon really is by taking us to the best spots and giving us an overview on the history of each spot. Highly recommend for anyone looking to travel to Lebanon.

Very nice trip and a guide full of knowledge. I was really surprised how big the ruins in Baalbek were. Would also really recommend a trip to the winery. Rouba was kind enough to let us do the trip at our own pace and not rush us from site to site.
