This 3-4 hour adventure gives you a chance to try the most popular sport in Finland, cross-country skiing. It’s a fascinating and environmentally friendly way to move in deep snow through the Arctic forests and rugged areas. We will teach you the basics of this wonderdul wintersport and take a photography tour through the Arctic wilderness. The adventure is guided by professional photographer who makes sure that you have all the time necessary to enjoy and photograph the snowy Arctic nature and amazing landscapes around us. The adventure gives you wonderful opportunity to witness the real and authentic nature of Lapland!

During our adventure, we will enjoy beautiful nature and photograph the breath-taking landscapes around us. We use special skin-based skis, which take skiing from cross-country right into the backcountry. Backcountry skiis represent the freshest Finnish innovation in wilderness exploration. Owing to their composition and skin-based material they provide us unlimited access to the endless, snowy hinterlands of Lapland. We will start our tour from Rovaniemi and drive to our location hidden in the forest. During the trip, we will take a break in a wooden shelter and prepare some sausages over an open fire. We will be surrounded by all of the most astonishing features of Lappish nature. Moving on skiis in these snowy landscapes gives us unforgettable opportunities for photography! The tour is always guided by a professional photographer who will share his knowledge of landscape and nature photography.

The backcountry skiing adventure was fantastic and Beyond Arctic were so friendly and efficient when we booked this. Our guide was Oren who is one of the most warm, friendly, funny and thoughtful people I have met. One of our party was celebrating her 40th birthday and afterwards he surprised her with a lovely birthday cake which he had purchased in secret on the way. Skiing through a silent sunny forest on thick snow was breathtakingly stunning and lots of fun and Oren really seemed to enjoy taking lots of photographs which we could then access afterwards to view. We were given time and space to really enjoy the experience, with Oren always being near in case we fell over(only once!). On that note I can say that its fun and easy for people with very little experience with skiing. The whole experience was a real delight from start to finish and I would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful ski hike , a real paradise. Our guide was very friendly and told us a lot about his country. Hiking is accessible to all and allows access to remote corners. I recommend 100%

Oren was our tour guide and he was really nice and friendly and he was funny and made everyone feel comfortable, he gave us nice information about Finland and took us on a nice hike, we had a great time and it was so good. I recommend and again Oren was really great

The tour was a lot of fun and well organized. We were picked up on time and well equipped. Our tour guide Oren gave us great instructions and generally created a good atmosphere. It was a great experience.
Easy and fun cross country skiing in Lapland

Booked this tour a day in advance when I walked into their office downtown. Friendly guy who took my booking and our tour guide Oren was amazing. He helped with our skis and during the cross country skiing he made sure we were all having fun. I thought it would be hard but it was not too strenuous, you go at your own pace. The bbq and hot blueberry juice at the end of the ski was really enjoyable. Oren explained about the Finnish language, culture & showed us how to start a fire using the dry birchwood and bark. He even prepared vegan sausages (which was not expected) & a couple of people in our group was actually vegetarian/vegans. If you want to melt marshmallows pls ask in advance cos they prepare some for the kids! Highly recommend this day time activity as it’s about a 3 hour tour and really enjoyable being out in nature and exploring the Lapland country side. Thank you!

We made a nice trip through the fresh snow. Meri was our guide and photographer. We received a good explanation and a lot of information about the area and nature around Levi. The BBQ in the great outdoors was a special experience. A few days after the tour we received very nice photos. A very nice bonus was that Meri helped us book a bus trip to Rovaniemi. There was a strike among the airline staff, which meant we had to cancel and reschedule our trip. We give 5 stars for the activity and another 5 stars for the further help.

The tour with Meri was great - really exciting, fun and interesting! She also helped us with our camera settings and took beautiful pictures of the trip. Would definitely do it again.

Our guide Becky was excellent. She took us to a forest area outside Rovaniemi and made sure we had the appropriate equipment. She took her time to explain the basics of backcountry skiing -- as a beginner skier, that was specially helpful to make me feel comfortable. And I didn't fall once, which is remarkable considering my record of failed attempts at doing this kind of activity. The route we took was beautiful and in the end Becky treated us to a barbecue in a forest hut by a frozen lake. She took great pictures of us, and was the perfect guide/company. Thoroughly recommended!
