Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary

The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, also known as the Ubud Monkey Forest, is one of the most famous attractions in Ubud, Bali. It’s a nature reserve and Hindu temple complex that serves as both a sanctuary for hundreds of long-tailed macaque monkeys and a significant cultural site. The forest spans over 12.5 hectares and is home to around 1,200 to 1,260 monkeys, making it a lively and engaging experience for visitors. The sanctuary also features lush greenery, with a rich variety of tropical plants and towering ancient trees. Within the forest, there are three Hindu temples dating back to the 14th century, dedicated to different deities, such as Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, the main temple, which honors the god Shiva.

Tirta Empul Temple

Tirta Empul Temple is a sacred Hindu water temple located near the town of Tampaksiring in Bali, Indonesia. It's famous for its holy spring water, which is believed to have curative properties and is used for ritual purification ceremonies. The temple complex dates back to the 10th century and is dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of water. Visitors to Tirta Empul can observe or participate in the purification rituals, where devotees bathe in the spring water to cleanse themselves spiritually and physically. The temple's architecture features intricate stone carvings, shrines, and pavilions set amidst lush greenery, creating a serene and spiritually significant atmosphere. We had a great experience exploring Bali with Mangkok as our driver. He is friendly, reliable, and made us feel safe throughout the trip. Traveling with family was very comfortable with him. He also has great photography skills and helped us capture nice memories. Over 5 days, he made sure we saw the best places without any hassle. We had a good experience with Nyoman. We had a long day of driving and sightseeing from our pick up in Ubud to being dropped off in Amed. Despite it being well outside his normal areas he handled the challenging roads well and got everything we asked for sorted.

Ma trip with Made was absolutely amazing. The car was very comfortable and his driving was incredibly smooth and careful, especially impressive considering our challenging route to the waterfall with steep serpentine roads, constant ups and downs. He handled it like a true professional💪🏻 Made is not only a highly skilled driver but also a great person to talk to. His English is excellent, and he shared many interesting stories about local life and culture. It felt like much more than just a ride, he gave us valuable recommendations and insights about Bali that made the experience even richer. Highly recommend! This was a truly great trip!

Komang was great! I am solo traveling in Bali after a business trip in Singapore and I needed a safe, friendly, knowledgeable driver and that’s exactly what I found. He helped me with a currency exchange (and getting my money back when the first shop tried to scam me 🥴), took me to Tirta Empul where he showed me the ropes, told me the significance of the temple and how to participate in the baths and took a bunch of photos of me during the experience. Finally he waited patiently for me at the spa before safely getting me back to my resort. Highly recommend!

We had the most incredible day touring around Ubud thanks to our amazing driver and guide( brother & sister team Kowang & Dewi) From the moment they picked us up, everything was seamless. They were punctual, professional, and genuinely warm and welcoming. They tailored the itinerary perfectly to what we wanted to see — including rice terraces, temples, and local spots we never would have found on our own. Their knowledge of Balinese culture and history made every stop so much more meaningful. The car was spotless and comfortable, and we never felt rushed. They also gave fantastic restaurant recommendations and helped us avoid the crowds. If you’re visiting Bali and want a stress-free, memorable day, book with them. Absolutely 5 stars — we would use him again without hesitation!
