Morning Check-out westbound to the Tsiribihina River, Check-out point for a unique river adventure. Along the way, several stops are planned in small traditional villages where you can exchange with the inhabitants, discover their way of life and appreciate the cultural richness of this region still preserved from mass tourism. As it approaches Miandrivazo, the heat becomes more intense, marking the transition to the dry climate of western Madagascar. At the end of the afternoon, meet the crew and the piroguiers who will accompany you down the river. This time is devoted to the final preparations: installation of equipment, briefing on the route and discovery of the traditional mode of navigation.

Check-out from Masiakampy for two days of expedition on the Tsiribihina River, an unforgettable adventure through spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. On board a barge, you will sail to the rhythm of the river. Stops in remote villages will offer a privileged moment to exchange with the inhabitants and discover their daily lives. Along the way, refreshing breaks will be planned, including at the magnificent Tsiribihina waterfall, where swimming will be essential. Evenings under the stars, lulled by the murmur of the water, will be marked by traditional meals prepared by the crew over a wood fire. After waking up on the water’s edge, navigation continues in the heart of the meanders of the Tsiribihina. You will encounter freight barges, pirogui trees, as well as scenes of life typical of the Malagasy shores. Stop at the village of Begidro, famous for its old tobacco concessions still cultivated by hand, with the possibility to visit a bonded warehouse. Further on, you will follow the cliffs of Kina Kina, populated by giant bats, before discovering the rice fields and giant capoquies. Crossing the village of Berevo, more structured with its Catholic school, dispensary and gendarmerie. At the end of the day, stop in Ambatomisay to admire your first Andasonia Za baobabs. The bivouac is set up on a wild beach for a second night under the stars. After dinner, you’ll enjoy a family-friendly traditional dance show around the campfire.

Last stop of morning sailing to Belo-sur-Tsiribihina, where a typical lunch awaits you. This final stretch of river then gives way to a 4x4 crossing through arid landscapes and plains punctuated by baobab trees. The Manambolo ferry crossing marks the entry into the Tsingy region of Bemaraha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arrival in Bekopaka at the end of the day offers a well-deserved moment of rest at the Inn, before exploring the famous Grand Tsingy the following day. In the afternoon, a getaway in the village of Belo-sur-Tsiribihina immerses you in the authentic life of this peaceful village nestled between river and savannah. You will discover the lively local Point of Sale, full of colour, where handicrafts, spices and scenes of daily life rub shoulders.
