On this walking tour of Barcelona's El Born and Gothic Quarter neighborhoods, you may eat as much as you walk. Follow your local foodie guide as you visit four of the city's best tapas bars to sample food and drinks typical of the Catalonian region. As you sip wine and nibble on small bites, hear more about Spanish culinary traditions and get plenty of inside tips from your guide on where to eat and what to do during your time in Barcelona.

Meet your guide at the Plaça Sant Jaume in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter to begin this 3-hour culinary walking tour. As you head to your first tapas bar of the day, chat with your local guide about Barcelona's cultural legacy, its gastronomy, and the historical landmarks as you see. Stroll the streets where Antoni Gaudí and Pablo Picasso once walked as you get to know the history and the flavors of the Catalonian capital city.. Jostle for space with locals in some of Barcelona's most vibrant tapas bars and learn about tapas etiquette, like how to order and how to share, from your guide. Sample dishes like Iberian ham, various cheeses from around Spain, pimientos de padrón, the spicy patatas bravas, traditional grilled bread with tomato, fresh octopus, and several other dishes accompanied by fine local wine pairings and the best company. After a sip and a nibble, it's time to move onto the next spot and repeat the delicious process. Visit four of Barcelona's best tapas bars/restaurants in total, then bid your guide farewell at the end of the excursion with a full stomach and a deeper understanding of Catalonian cuisine and culture. Vegetarian options are available, and food allergies and preferences can be accommodated — simply list them in the Special Requirements field when booking. Private tour available. 5.00Rocco took a food and wine tour and turned it into a history lesson. He guided us through the Gothic and Born bringing us from the Roman Empire through today. The food and wine were excellent as well.

5.00A really enjoyable, intimate and immersive experience for my wife and I, plus 2 other couples. Roberto was a great guide, friendly, knowledgeable and took time to answer questions, and tailor the experience to his audience. Not just tapas but a bit of Barcelona history included too. The 3 tapas restaurants were top notch. Great tapas, in interesting locations, with the chance to try local wine and vermouth. Roberto explained the dishes and what tapas means for the Spanish. We didn’t want the experience to finish. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

5.00The experience was fantastic. Learning about Tapas and tasting the different types of food and wine exceeded our expectations. Berta, our guide, was exceptional and knowledgeable about the interesting facts on the stroll to the various restaurants. We also learned a new way to drink wine which was a lot of fun. It was as great to meet the other guests and making this a social event more than just a food tour. Great excursion.
